Los Lobos provides an exclusive holiday environment for families or couples, an idyllic honeymoon retreat. Immaculate cottages set amidst large, beautifully landscaped and fenced gardens and olive trees with horses in paddocks. The private 8m x 4m pool is heated for all year round use,a rare find in the Malaga area, and essential for use from Sep-Jun. Gated for children’s safety with spectacular mountain views, secluded from the main garden for privacy. The cottages are beautifully decorated in traditional style and offer privacy from other guests,with their own patios for dining and gas BBQs.The village of Trabuco is a 5 min drive. Families are very welcome and children love to help with the animals. A haven for birdwatchers, mountain bikers, horseriders, walkers, climbers, photographers and painters, the scenery really is second to none. Our many repeat bookings and recommendations reflect the enjoyment and satisfaction of our guests. Ideally situated for visiting all tourist areas.

Notes on prices
*Credit card accepted using Paypal, or payment by bank transfer. Prices are for the property per week in euros and include pool heating. 10% discount for booking both cottages, for paying the full balance at the time of booking(if 4 months or more before holiday) or for bookings of 3 weeks or more.
Changeover day
In the summer, changeover day is Saturday, after 4pm if possible to allow for thorough cleaning and maintainance. We aks that our guests leave by 10am for the same reason. We can be flexible though, and out of peak season will consider other arrival days.

Traditionally built in old Spanish style with roof beams and rustic features. Entrance hall,shower room with tiled shower cubicle, sink and WC, electric panel heater. Kitchen/diner with seating for up to 6 people,electric oven, gas hob, Belfast sink(with a view to die for while washing up!) wooden work tops, microwave, fridge freezer, well stocked with all necessary kitchen utensils and equipment, crockery glass ware. Electric panel heater. Downstairs bedroom has twin beds with room for a 3rd or 4th bed or cot, panel heater, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Upstairs is an open plan living room with a large picture window with stunning views, sofa, arm chairs, TV, DVD, wood burner, French doors onto roof terrace with table & chairs. Master bedroom has a sink and WC, ceiling fan, wardrobe and mountain view from the bed through the large picture window that can’t be beaten! Private courtyard has gas bbq, sofas, table, chairs and 2 sunbeds in summer. All towels and linen included. |

Notes on accommodation
The luxury cottages are a haven for guests requiring a relaxing away from it all holiday.Both are beautifully presented with much attention to detail and comfort.They each have their own patios and even if you are not our only guests you will have privacy.We believe the views from the farm are some of the best you will find in Spain.Horse riding is available on site but we are not a riding school and if horses are not your thing then don't worry, they don't detract from the beauty or peacefulness of the surroundings. It is a wonderful place for children,who often like to give a hand with the animals. Couples of all ages also enjoy the peace and quiet. We provide you with everything for a comfortable stay but if there is anything you require please ask.A welcome pack of basic essentials is provided to get you started. Heaters and wood burner provided in cooler months, fans in summer. Wifi available soon, please ask.
Accessibility
The property is not suitable for those requiring a wheelchair, as there are gravelled areas which would be difficult to wheel on.
Outside
El Granero has its own patio, El Establo a private courtyard and roof terrace. Both cottages have Moroccan style tables and chairs, gas BBQs and sofas, plus 2 sunbeds. The cottages are set in colourful landscaped gardens, with a central courtyard area with large wooden table and sofas that both cottages can share if holidaying together. You feel the charm of the beautiful old farm as soon as you park on the cobbled threshing circle. The 8 x 4m pool has a 2m deep end and 1m shallow end and the area is gated for safety for small children. It is heated free of charge meaning you can swim all year round (can't guarantee in extreme cold weather), while enjoying the incredible mountain views, or simply sunbathe on the large terraces. There are parasols for shade and the sunbeds are ideal for stargazing-no light pollution makes for a stunning sky! What better way to enjoy the spectacular mountain sunsets than with a drink or meal at a table on the pool patio.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches are a 40 min drive. There are also beautiful inland lakes with beaches within 25 mins.
Golf
There is a popular 18 hole golf course at Antequerra, 25 mins and many others on the coast within 1 hour.
Skiing
The Sierra Nevada ski resort is 1 hour 15 mins from the cottage. The season is usually long from beginning of December to end of April. It is great for all levels and has 80km of skiable piste. It is quite possible to ski in the morning and spend the afternoon on the beach. We use the resort ourselves and are happy to arrange guided ski excursions if required.
Special interest holidays
We offer horse riding onsite, though we are not a riding school and your privacy will not be disturbed.The scenery is spectacular with pine forests, streams and olivegroves. What better way to see it than on horse back, even if you have never tried before. All levels of rider catered for, our horses are kind and safe. See website for further details. We are a centre of natural horsemanship and our herd of 15 horses live in their family groups as they would in the wild. We also offer guided walks or mountain bike trails and bird watching. An ideal holiday for families with different interests, we give you the opportunity to all do your own thing, whilst enjoying a holiday together. Mountain bikes are available free of charge. Spanish lessons from a very popular local teacher available on site. Off road motorbike trails also available-see link on website. *Special full board lose weight/get fit breaks available, enjoy fresh, low cal meals and an exercise plan to suit all fitness levels.
Travel
The airports of Granada and Malaga are both a very easy 40 mins drive. Granada is new to the tourist traffic and consequently a lovely small airport. It is worth checking flights as they are often cheaper. It is recommended that you hire a car. Please realise that unless you are keen walkers or cyclists, you would be quite stranded once you were here.
*Note-Airport transfers may be arranged Cortijo Los Lobos is very easy to find and accessible by tarmac roads (no annoying dusty dirt tracks).
Distances
The village of Villanueva del Trabuco with its many restaurants, shops and bars is a 5 min drive. There is a lovely restaurant in a converted water mill a 5 minute walk away. The beautiful towns of Archidona and Antequerra are nearby.
The nearest 'Tesco' style supermarket is only a 15 minute drive. The countryside surrounding the farm is National Park and popular with Spanish wishing to escape the hustle of the towns. Granada /malaga 40 mins. Antequerra 25 mins.Cordoba 90 mins. Seville 2 hours.
Further details
There are 2 bars and restaurants approx 2km from the cottage and the village(5km) has a very good choice of banks, shops and restaurants.Other activities such as Hang gliding, motorbikehire, guidedwalking/mountainbiking, paintballing, birdwatching or Spanish lessons can all be arranged locally. Scuba diving, skiing or boat safaris to see dolphins can be arranged further afield. The village is typically Spanish and has numerous fiestas through the year where you can witness their culture first hand, with the beautiful horses and women in fiesta dresses. The source of the Guadalhorce river which flows into Malaga is situated in the mountain that appears to rise out of our garden. The water can be seen spurting out of the mountain, through the 100 pipes that have been placed there to make quite a spectacular sight. The delicious water at the farm comes straight from this mountain source. We are always on hand to ensure that your holiday goes smoothly.The landscaped gardens and pool are constantly maintained to ensure the highest standards. Every thought has been given to your comfort and enjoyment. Every improvement we have made to the farm reflects it's original character, with the use of original materials down to the last detail, whilst still giving you modern comforts. Though we live on the farm, we respect your privacy and do our best to ensure that you do not feel that you are sharing your holiday with us,but remain quietly in the back ground should you have any problems. About the owner
We moved to this beautiful unspoilt part of Spain in 2000,with our 3 young children with the aim of achieving a better quality of life for the whole family.
Our children attended the local village school, and we soon became part of the community. Over the years we have worked extremely hard to renovate and improve our charming old farmhouse to provide an exlusive holiday environment for guests wishing to enjoy a holiday in real, unspoilt Spain, with quality accommodation, heated pool, and horseriding. Our horses are much loved family pets and our herd has increased over the years, with many rescued horses and also foals born here at the farm. Ten years on we are still working just as hard to continually improve and maintain the facilities for our guests.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
It was love at first sight when we viewed our stunning old farmhouse, and ten years later we still gaze at the mountain views and count ourselves so lucky to be living in such paradise. Though the farm is in an idylic, peaceful setting, it is ideally situated for visiting all the major tourist attractions. We love the fact that we live in real Spain, with lovely Spanish neighbours and culture, surrounded by beautiful countryside and mountains, yet we are so conveniently situated to drive to the major cities and airports should we need to.
Over the years we have worked long hours to renovate and improve the farm, which now provides 2 charming self catering cottages, a heated pool and horse riding facilities. Our guests return year after year and many have become friends.
