Finca del Cielo is a lovely old farmhouse restored and divided into two cottages - one of which is available to rent - to include the comforts of modern day living. Situated at the top of a winding track it enjoys stunning panoramic views over and around the embalse of Iznajar. Set on the edge of the Sierra Subetica, it is an ideal location for those seeking peace and tranquility and as a base from which to discover the many delights of Andalucia. So, parties of up to 4 guests wishing to rent the cottage will enjoy their own private swimming pool together with two further south facing terraces. Below the farmhouse is a boules court for guests to enjoy (boules are provided). The cottage itself has two bedrooms, a shower room with toilet and wash hand basin, a kitchen and a lounge/dining area . The accommodation is very comfortable and well arranged. The small town of Iznajar is close by, and has good access to the major highway networks to Malaga, Granada, Cordoba and Sevilla.

Notes on prices
Minimum stay from March 3 to June 30 is 4 nights.
Minimum stay from June 30 - September 29 is 1 week. Additional days charged at pro-rata rate.
Finca del Cielo is closed from October 23 2011 until January 7 2012.
Changeover day
Arrival/departure dates flexible. Check in after 4.30pm on day of arrival, check out by 10.30am on day of departure.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | The master bedroom, which overlooks the swimming pool, has a large double bed. The second bedroom has twin beds (can be converted to a double). Each bedroom is simply but comfortably furnished with a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and bedside table lamps. |
| Bathrooms: | One shower room with toilet and wash hand basin. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is equipped with a fridge freezer, a 4-ring gas hob and a microwave oven/grill. The main entrance leads out to the pool, while a second door off the kitchen leads out to the terraces. |
| Living Rooms: | The lounge/diner is comfortably furnished with 2 sofas, satellite TV, a DVD player and a portable CD player. Room fans are provided throughout the cottage. Holiday reading books, board and card games are provided for guests use. |
| Other: | The 9mx4m pool with its terrace, 6 pool loungers and shaded dining area, is exclusively for cottage guests use. There are two further private south facing terraces; a sun terrace overlooking the garden and an upper breakfast terrace with covered portico. |

Notes on accommodation
Room fans provided throughout the cottage. Further photographs of the cottage (both inside and outside) are available on request. For winter lets the cottage is heated by a wood burning stove (logs provided). All beds have electric blankets.
Outside
The 9 by 4m pool with its terrace, 6 pool loungers and shaded dining area is exclusively for cottage guests use. The pool's depth in the shallow end is around 80cm rising to 2 meters in the deep end. Thanks to the solar thermal pool cover swimming should be comfortable from as early as late April.
In addition there are two further private south facing terraces; a sun terrace overlooking the garden and offering fabulous views towards the village of Iznajar and its castle, and an upper breakfast terrace with covered portico.
Adjacent to the garden is a boules court. For those of you who enjoy the game, boules are provided, but please retrieve any errant ball that rolls out of court and down the hillside! And for anybody who enjoys outdoor barbecues, a large gas barbecue is also provided.
There is a car parking area behind the cottage.
Coast/Beach
Lakeside beach is just a few minutes from Finca del Cielo. The beaches on the Costa del Sol are just over one hourīs drive away.
Golf
40 minutes to the spectacular 18 hole golf course at Antequera. One hour to La Clara Golf in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Brilliant courses! (Of course, there are plenty more courses on the Costa del Golf, but then again you are coming inland to Iznajar, so why play those?)
Fancy a game of golf but donīt want to bring your clubs on holiday with you? No problem! A full set of Tommy Armour irons and MacGregor woods are available for a small fee together with a willing playing partner (Jim) if you are looking for company.
Skiing
An hour and a half to the ski slopes at the Sierra Nevada. Day ski trips can be arranged on your behalf.
Travel
Granada airport - 45 minutes. Malaga airport - 60 minutes. Car hire is essential if you wish to travel any real distances away from the cottage. Alternatively, we can arrange your pick up and drop off from the airport (Malaga or Granada) together with taxi trips within the area should you so desire.
Distances
Because the finca is situated in the heart of Andalucia there are many places of interest within easy reach by car. Local town of Iznajar - 6 minutes. Antequera - 35 minutes. Granada and the Alhambra - 1 hour. Cordoba - 75 minutes. Sevilla - 2 hours. Costa del Sol - 1 hour. And donīt forget Malaga itself, a city full of diverse attractions and activities.
Further details
Iznajar, a picturesque typically Andalucian town commanding a stunning hilltop position, has many local bars, cafes, grocery shops, butchers and banks.
Antequera is a great historic town and has a large shopping complex with hypermarket.
There are lots of local weekly markets in the nearby towns and villages.
Booking notes
200 euros or 25% of booking value deposit at time of booking confirmation, whichever is greater. Balance due 28 days prior to arrival. We ask for a refundable security deposit of 200 euros be paid upon arrival. All being well this deposit is returned in full at the time of guest departure.

About the owner
Hi, my name is Jim and I live in Iznajar with my wife Sue and our rescue dog Max. We came to Spain from Dubai in early 2003, and a more dramatic change of scenery and culture is hard to imagine.
We love it here, and so too do the holiday makers who have come to stay at Finca del Cielo each year since we first opened our home in 2005.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Initially when we started to look for a place in Andalucia we were viewing townhouses. But then we found this place and that was that. A townhouse can wait until we are too old to to enjoy what we now have: the dramatic uninterrupted views over the Iznajar embalse; the mountain walks with our dog Max off the lead; the hot summer days and the stunning winter night skies. (If you have ever wondered what the Milky Way really looks like then here is the place to find out for yourself.)
The hilltop village of Iznajar is just over 3 kilometers away and is full of very friendly (if a little too inquisitive!) ´Iznajeños´, and Iznajar really is in the heart of Andalucia. Granada and Malaga are both no more than an hour´s drive. Cordoba takes 75 minutes. Sevilla is 2 hours.
