Situated above the white-washed Moorish village of Capileira at 1700m and on the edge of the Sierra Nevada National Park is Cortijo Cañada del Reguero, a 500 year old Cortijo with stunning views that can sleep from 2 - 9 people. The Cortijo has been lovingly restored over the years and is set in 5000sqm of land. It provides the perfect location for your mountain holiday. From your door you can wander to the deserted village of Cebidilla or venture to the peak of Mulhacen, the highest peak in Spain. The location is ideal for anybody wanting to explore Las Alpujarras by foot, bicycle or horse, or simply unwind and relax. Capileira, with its wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops is a picturesque 25 mins walk. The cortijo can be divided into two areas so is ideal for a larger numbers (4 bedrooms and sofabed) or the lower part of the cortijo can be rented exclusively for smaller numbers (2 bedrooms). With magnificent views into the gorgeous Poqueira Valley and the Sierra de Lujar.

Notes on prices
The lower part of the cortijo: prices are based on up to 4 persons with 2 bedrooms. The whole cortijo: prices are based on up to 9 people per week. Short stay and long stay prices available on request. Prices are for the property per week in pounds.
You will always have exclusive use of the cortijo and ground whether you rent the lower part or whole cortijo.
Changeover day
Saturday is preferred however we can be flexible.
Notes on accommodation
The house has central heating along with 2 wood burning stoves. Children are very welcome.
Outside
Situated in 5000 sq metres of gardens and grounds in one of the most amazing locations in Spain with fabulous views over the mountains to the sea - on a good day you can see the mountains of Morocco! There is a lovely terraced swimming pool - 10x4.5m. The pool is for the exclusive use of guests. It is open from early/mid May until September (weather permitting). Adjacent to the pool is a grassed garden area with a net for badminton or volleyball. There are plenty of sun loungers on the terraces and by the poolside along with outside dining tables and chairs. You have full access to the grounds and the swimming pool at all times.
Coast/Beach
The coast is just over an hour's drive away with many beaches and great fish restaurants to choose from.
Skiing
Ski touring can be arranged in the immediate area.
The ski area of the Sierra Nevada is situated on the other side of the Pico Veleta. It is a 2 hour drive.
Travel
There are car hire booths at the airport both airlines offer special deals to passenger with their affiliated car hire company. Distances
Capileira is the nearest village and is 4km away on the road by car. It can be reached by foot in 20/25 mins down a track from the Cortijo. The Mediterranean coast is just over an hour away and the main town of Orgiva just half an hour away - a great alternative market is worth a visit on Thursdays. Lanjaron, with its magical waters is a 45 mins drive. Granada is a 1 hour drive and buses do go to Granada from the village. Trevelez - 20 mins. La Taha villages - 15 mins.
Further details
Guides can be arranged for walks, horse rides and mountain biking. Also, if you are interested in painting or pottery, workshops can be organised for you.
Although many people find a car useful, transport to and from the airport can be arranged. Also, lifts can be provided to the beginning or from the end of adventures such as walks or mountain bike rides or even after a long relaxing lunch in the local village of Capileira!
You can order packed lunches with 24 hrs notice. Also with notice, dinners can be served in the Cortijo’s grounds, ideal if you arrive back exhilarated from a long day’s exertion!.
Booking notes
Please enquire by email or telephone. 50% deposit required to secure the reservations. Provisional reservations will be held for 5 days, once a written confirmation is received by email, to allow time for payment to reach bank accounts. Outstanding amount can be paid on arrival.

About the owner
We lived in the cortijo for 4 years and rented the apartment as a holiday home. For personal reasons we are now living in the UK but have kept our lovely home in the mountains and now rent it as a holiday home for 8/9 people or as an apartment for 4 people. We know the area well and the people so are happy to answer any questions you may have and give advice on the area. We now live and work in Suffolk. I work with a charity organising events and Mike is a music teacher. Our son Patrick, who speaks fluent Spanish, is at the local primary school and helps with the language lessons! We hope you enjoy our lovely home as much as we do.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We fell in love with the area after travelling the whole of Spain decided on the Alpujarras as our home! An area of outstanding natural beauty and the villages are so friendly and still very Spanish. It is quiet yet full of interesting and wonderful people. Loved the walking and cycling available and the music.
Unique benefits of the property
The cortijo is unique. One of the oldest in the area and has views that are simply the best around. Its a family home.
