Casa Mariposa is a beautiful, south facing villa set on a hillside amongst pine trees above the charming village of Alcalali. Located on the edge of a peaceful residential area, it has both sunny and shaded, private outside terraces with breathtaking views across the green Jalon Valley to the mountains beyond. A covered terrace for al fresco dining looks across the pool to the panoramic views. The Jalon Valley is known for its many excellent restaurants, some within walking distance. Tastefully furnished, there is a comfortable open plan living/dining room and a well equipped kitchen, plus internet access. In the main house are two very spacious bedrooms, both with A/C; the master with en-suite shower room, a twin with private balcony and a family bathroom. The third double bedroom, with A/C and en-suite shower room is in a separate annex, accessed from a garden terrace. The villa can be rented as a 2 or 3 bedroom villa and is ideal for groups wanting a little more privacy.

Living/dining room is open plan with comfortable sofas and a dining table to seat 8. Internet connection.
Satellite TV, DVD player and CD player/radio.
Kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, oven, gas hob, large fridge/freezer and microwave.
Utility room has a washing machine, iron and ironing board.

 

Notes on accommodation
There is air-conditioning in all bedrooms and a ceiling fan in the master bedroom.
Internet access is available - bring your laptop.
There is a log burner and gas heater in the living room for winter guests as well as radiators in the bedrooms.
Cot (extra £10 per week) is available on request.
2 child booster seats with trays.
The third bedroom in the annex is not let independently.

Outside
Private, large, south facing pool with roman steps and underwater lighting on secluded terrace set into a mature and colourful garden. Sunbeds and outdoor dining furniture. Large, partially shaded side and rear terraces for additional dining space, this area has gates making it a safe children's play area away from the pool. There is a brick built BBQ and planted terraces in the garden.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches are those at Denia and Calpe, which are a 25 minute drive away and are sandy, safe and clean.
5 minutes further away are those at Javea and Moraira, with various coves off the coast road between the towns.
Many local beaches have blue flag awards for cleanliness.

Golf
The nearest golf course is the Olazabel designed 18 hole course at La Sella, only 20 minutes away. 25 minutes away are courses at Altea and Javea whilst the Seve Ballesteros designed championship course, Oliva Nova is only a 35 minutes drive.

Special interest holidays
There area is excellent for walkers with a whole range of walks including hikes of several hours in the surrounding area and mountains. It is one of Europe's premier rock climbing destinations and a very popular area for cyclists and mountain biking. A variety of scenery should appeal to artists.

Travel
There are cheap flights to Alicante (1 hours drive) and Valencia, (1 hour 20 minutes drive). Car hire is essential to explore the area.

Further details
There are several restaurants within walking distance between the villa and village. Alcalali has a bakery, pharmacy, 2 small general stores and cash machine with more shops and restaurants in the small town of Jalon, including bodegas selling the local wine.
The nearest supermarket is in Jalon, 5 minutes drive away.
Horse-riding is available in the area and watersports on many beaches.
Within an hour's drive are numerous and diverse places of interest from beaches, theme parks, sporting activities, and lovely historic towns and villages with museums and interesting architecture such as Guadalest, Jativa, Villena, Altea, Alicante, Valencia etc. There are many scenic drives too.
