Casa San Isidoro is a tastefully renovated courtyard village house on 2 floors with terrace above, sleeping 2 to 4 comfortably (up to 6 using a sofa bed), in one of Andalucia's most attractive white villages. Gaucin, dominated by its castle and the twisting narrow streets, the white washed houses and the flower covered balconies give the village a distinctly Moorish flavour. From the lounge and terrace there are superb views down to the Mediterranean and on clear days Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of Africa are visible.

Changeover day
Mainly Saturday during high season but flexible at other times depending on prior bookings.

Notes on accommodation
The house is on 2 floors with a roof terrace. A cot is available. For winter lets there are gas heaters and a wood fire. Gas and electricity is included in the price, as is wood for 2 nights - extra wood can be purchased locally. No pets - guide dogs an exception.
Outside
Flower filled walled, shady courtyard on the first floor with chairs and table. Large spectacular roof terrace with garden chairs, sunbeds and tables. The roof terrace also has a barbecue and sunshades.
Coast/Beach
35 minutes to coast and nearest beach (18 miles).
Special interest holidays
Bird watching day tours to local sites for specific Mediterranean species available for both experienced and novice birdwatchers. Binoculars, telescope and tripod available for client’s use. Independently or in conjunction with the above, visits to local cultural and historical centres such as Ronda, Seville, Gibraltar and National Parks are available.
Rambles in the nearby mountains and valleys can be arranged and led.

Travel
The main airport is Malaga at 1.5 hours drive with easy access and carhire facilities. Gibraltar is 1 hour with carhire available from Gibraltar or just over the border in La Linea.Transport to and from either airport can be arranged at special rates for those wanting a relaxing car-free holiday.
Jerez, Seville and Granada Airports are also accessible.
For those wishing to spend more time exploring inland car hire is recommended.

Approximate driving times from Gaucin: South – Sabinillas /Duquesa 35 minutes. Eastwards - Estepona 35 minutes, Puerto Banus 50 minutes, La Cañada Shopping Centre (north Marbella) 1 hour, Marbella centre 1 hr 15 minutes, Malaga Airport 1hour 30 minutes (using Peaje sections of E15 motorway 55 minutes). Westwards - Sotogrande 35 minutes, Gibraltar 50 minutes (not including border crossing times), Tarifa 1 hr 30 minutes.

Casa San Isidoro is situated in Gaucin on the southern edge of the Sierrania de Ronda and is one of the most attractive Pueblos Blancos in Andalucia. Gaucin village contains several small friendly supermarkets, 2 banks, a medical centre, a range of restaurants and tapas bars, a pleasant swimming pool and tennis courts and ruined castle. The village is surrounded by some of the most splendid mountain scenery and national parks in Andalucia.
It is ideally located for a range of outdoor pursuits and activities, particularly birdwatching, golf and water sports. Gaucin is centrally placed for the major Moorish towns of Ronda, Sevilla, Cordoba and Granada and with Morocco just 45 minutes by hyro-foil from Tarifa. Alternatively, of course, you can stay locally, relax, soak up the village atmosphere, or just sunbathe!
The area is ideal for painting, sketching and photography and for the more energetic; rambling, mountain walking, climbing and horse-riding. Both freshwater and sea fishing are readily available. Windsurfing in all its forms is centred on Tarifa. Safe family bathing is available at the local resorts of Sabinillias, Duquesa and Estapona,
30/40 minutes away and as well the local rivers and Roman sulphur baths nearby. Dolphin and whale-watching is available from Estapona, Gibraltar and Tarifa.

We had a terrific time at your house Casa San Isidoro in Gaucin. The view from the terrace is absolutely brilliant. We all really loved your house, it was very clean, and had everything we needed and Gaucin was fantastic - a holiday to be remembered!
