This villa is situated on one of the newest and most prestigious golf developments in the Murcia region - Hacienda del Alamo. It is five minutes from the traditional Spanish town of Fuente Alamo, 25 minutes from the lovely beaches of Mazarron yet surrounded by mountains and farmlands. The Villa has a large landscaped garden, beautiful heated private pool (12x6m), BBQ and many outdoor terraces offering unrivaled views of the 15th green and 16th tee. Externally the villa reflects traditional Spanish architecture. Internally, all rooms are fully furnished to an exceptional standard. The living accommodation is spacious with vaulted, beamed ceilings and dark wood shutters. There is heating / air-conditioning throughout.

Notes on accommodation
Property is air-conditioned throughout. A cot and high chair are available on request. There is a no smoking policy.
Outside
Large 1,200 sq meter landscaped garden overlooks the 15th green and the 16th tee. There are both open and covered terraces plus a gorgeous 12x6m heated private swimming pool. Outside table and chairs plus sun loungers.
Coast/Beach
There is a choice of superb sandy beaches or rocky coastal coves at Mazarron, only 25 mins away. Alternatively the seaside resort of La Manga del Mar Menor is 40 mins by car. This famous resort has safe and shallow waters that offer a wide variety of water-sports. It is Europe's largest salt water lagoon and boasts over 170 square kilometers of shallow warm water (regularly 5 degrees centigrade warmer than the Med).
Golf
Hacienda Del Alamo officially opened the first Dave Thomas designed championship golf courses in November 2004. Dave Thomas has an international reputation – his courses include Valderama, La Manga. The course is a challenging 6,724m over gently undulating conditions with a maximum height differential of only 20m. There is also a golf academy which consists of a six hole 1,251m practice course, two storey driving range and pro shop. There are also 6 tennis courts, 4 padle courts , multi sports court, bowls green and football pitch available on the resort that are less than 5 minutes walk from the villa.
Skiing
Hacienda del Alamo is only a few hours drive away from great skiing on the Sierra Nevada ski slopes. Generally quiet and inexpensive, this is also a great place to go for beginners. The ski resort is in the Sierra Nevada mountain range and is the most southerly ski resort in Europe.
Travel
The nearest airport, San Javier, Murcia, is only 30 mins drive from the resort. Alternatively, Alicante has frequent flights from most airports in the UK and is about an hours' drive. Car hire is recommended to get around both the resort and the region. Vehicles can be booked from a variety of low cost hire companies operating out of both Alicante and Murcia airport.
Distances
Fuente Alamo is 5 mins drive and has all the necessary supermarkets, banks etc plus an interesting market on Saturdays. Murcia the 10th largest city in Spain and famous for its gastronomic cuisine is only 25 min away.
Cartagena, Spain's largest naval base plus plenty of shops is only a 15 min drive.

About the owner
We live in St Albans, UK and have a young family aged between 4 and 10. As a family we enjoy lots of sports and socialising with friends and relatives. We enjoy our holidays but increasingly spend more of them at the villa.
We have been travelling to Murcia since 1989 and loved it so much we bought the villa there

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought the villa new at the end of 2004. We had been viewing the progress of the resort since 2003 and were impressed with the low building density of the resort and the impressive plans for the future, the quality of the build and the golf course also were much better in our opinion than the other new resorts in the area.
We chose our villa because it commands a fantastic position on the resort with wonderful vistas from all viewpoints whether in the garden or on the two upstairs terraces. The plot was also the largest on the resort so we knew we had the chance to put in a larger than normal swimming pool and design a garden of our dreams.
Unique benefits of the property
We love the villa because it's quiet and not over looked, the garden is a lovely place to relax and the views are fantastic over the golf course and beyond. The golf is also fantastic with choice of a truly championship standard golf course or a six hoe practise course.
For those interested in tennis we also one of the closest villas to the tennis centre, which we like as the children can go over on their own.
Our three children who are aged between 4 and 10 just love the pool, they hardly ever get out of it even out of season ( the benefit of having it heated).
Although it's fully equipped in side for all requiremennts and furnished to a high standard all our guests alway comment that it's the garden and the pool that they enjoyed the most.
