The single storey Casita is situated above the village of Aransis, in its own grounds, with woodland to the rear and to the front stunning views of the nearby Montsec mountains, gorges and the castle of Mur on the opposite hillside. To the north the full chain of the Pyrenees can be seen, snow-capped for much of the year.

Outside
To the front of the house is a patio with table, chairs, loungers and parasol where you can relax and appreciate the silence with the exception of the birdsong from the woodland behind. Above the patio a section of land belonging to the cottage has been cleared to accommodate another set of table and chairs. The rest of the land attached to La Casita is still in its natural state. La Casita is equipped with a barbecue.
Travel
The nearest airports are Barcelona and Reus, around 2 1/2 hours drive, though Gerona is also not far away. Road links from Barcelona and Gerona airports are excellent. A car is essential for travelling to and around Aransis. Car hire is best arranged from England and picked up at the airport as hire cars are not available locally.
Distances
The village of Aransis is a 15 minute, 7km, drive uphill from the main Tremp-Isona valley. A further 10 minute drive brings you to Tremp, the capital of the region. Ten minutes in the opposite direction, Isona is an old Roman town and also famous for the field of dinosaur footprints on its outskirts. To the north the duty free principality of Andorra and the spectacular Aiguestortes national park are 1½-2 hours away. Nearby is the beautiful Vilanova gorge.
Further details
Tremp is an attractive market town with a tree-lined boulevard, occupied by cafe tables and chairs from spring to autumn and a pedestrianised, walled old town. It is well provided with all major facilities, banks, supermarkets and more traditional shops, restaurants and bars, outdoor pools and a park.
The whole region is very picturesque with many magnificent gorges and is well-known for its Romanesque architecture.
Birdlife and butterflies are prolific as are the mountain wild flowers.
The property owners are keen and experienced walkers and ready to offer advice and suggestions as well as a written guide. Behind the property the woodland offers relaxing strolls whilst just a short walk brings you up onto the escarpment with full views of the surrounding countryside, though the views from the cottage itself are impressive enough.
In the Tremp valley are two lakes where swimming and watersports can be enjoyed. To the north, Sort is a centre for more adventurous outdoor sports. There are also many sites for rock climbing in the area.
