Ideally situated for families and golfers the villa looks straight on to the 12th and 17th greens and 18th tee of the San Roque Old Course. Within walking distance are the 2 golf courses (San Roque I and II), a golf academy with driving range, many excellent restaurants and bars, paddle tennis courts, an equestrian centre and riding school. Water sports and beaches are only a 10 minute drive away at Alcaidesa and Sotogrande (please view our website for more pictures).

Changeover day

All towels (including pool towels) and linen are provided. Weekly mini clean and bed linen change included for lets of more than one week with flexibility to increase at cost. Welcome pack can be arranged on arrival at cost. Please enquire.

 

Notes on accommodation
High quality flexible accommodation. All rooms have air-conditioning (Summer) and/or heating (Winter) and bathrooms have underfloor heating. There is a hairdryer in the master bedroom bathroom. The villa is suitable for children but they must be kept under supervision around the pool area. The garden is fully enclosed and has a lockable gate for security. Wireless broadband internet access is available. There are tennis racquets and a mountain bike available for use by guests as well as board and word games. A cot and high chair may be available (if required) at additional cost.

Outside
There is a large terrace on which there is a relaxed seating area and dining table seating 8. The pool is adjacent to a large lawn and there are sunloungers and a parasol available for guests. There are also some communal pools on the other side of the 13th fairway just a short walk away (lifeguard on duty during peak season). The private landscaped garden is south facing and there is a BBQ. There is a solarium on the roof, which is not overlooked, for sunbathing in privacy, evening BBQs and to enjoy the 360 degree views over the golf course and mountains or to just look at the night sky.

Coast/Beach
There are many local beaches for swimming and sunbathing and the beach at Alcaidesa offers catamaran sailing, a windsurfing school, restaurants, bars, and miles of solitary walking; Sotogrande beach near the lively port offers a top-notch sailing school equipped with a wide range of catamarans and dinghes. Whale and dolphin watching is also available from Sotogrande, La Linea and Tarifa. Tarifa (about 30 minutes' drive) is also famous for wind surfing and kite boarding.

Golf
There are 2 courses on San Roque. The old Course is a stunning par 72 course designed by Dave Thomas and has hosted the Spanish Open, the European Tour Qualifying School and many other great events. The New Course opened in 2004, and designed by Perry Dye in association with Seve Ballesteros, has already been used for European Tour School final qualifying and last year (2006) hosted the Spanish Open. There are many other courses nearby and the villa is within 10 minutes of the famous Ryder Cup course at Valderrama.

Skiing
There is skiing in the Sierra Nevada - a 2 1/2 hour drive away.

Travel
Gibraltar airport is just a 20 mins drive/taxi away, Malaga is about an hour's drive on the toll road and Jerez is a 1.5 hour drive on good motorways. A hire car is essential for shopping and trips out. The ferry to North Africa is close by for day trips.

Distances
Many old towns and villages are between 30 mins and 2 hours drive including Marbella, Estepona, Jimena de la Frontera, Ronda, Cadiz and Seville. Locally, Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro (10 mins drive) has bars, restaurants, shops, banks and all services; Sotogrande (10 mins drive) has bars, restaurants, beaches, a marina and watersports while Gibraltar (20 mins drive) is a major tax-free shopping and tourist resort.

Further details
There are several major supermarkets with a full range of international foods plus many local shops catering for all tastes. There are many banks (inc. Barclays within 10 mins), a supermarket specialising in British foodstuffs and also several local markets if you like to haggle! There are many superb restaurants and bars, a local casino and many options for nightlife. A new waterpark has now opened at Algeciras which is about 1/2 hour car ride away where the children (and adults!) will be able to enjoy a day out during the peak season.
