Changeover day
Changeover day is Sunday with arrival preferably after 2.00pm. However, it may be possible to accommodate you with different times if required.

Almendra Cortijo (2 Bedroom, Sleeps 4)

This cortijo retains some very original features including a rock face in the lounge and has a wood burning stove where the bread oven was used until last year. It has a television with satellite and tables and chairs for dining. The kitchen area includes oven, microwave and fridge freezer and all the usual equipment. The lounge/kitchen area leads into a downstairs twin bedroom and open plan staircase to a double bedroom and large spaceous shower room. It has a patio area to the front of the property with patio furniture for eating outside. |

Notes on accommodation
Suitable for children with lots of space for running around. Heating by wood burning stoves and gas heaters.
Outside
This property is situated in 38,000 square metres of its own land. The swimming pool is 10m x 4m and salinated. It is shared by the owners and the other cortijo. Each cottage has its own patio area and the one bedroom cottage also has a sun terrace.
Coast/Beach
The closest beaches are at Mojacar about 40 minutes drive from the cortijo. It is a typical resort with plenty of shops and great clean beaches. There are also lots of areas along the coast where if you prefer a bit of solitude you can find your own bit of coast with no one to share it with. San Juan De Los Terraros is a very popular resort with the spanish and is about 50 minutes away with beautiful gently sloping beaches.
Golf
Golfing is available at Turre about 30 minutes drive away and at Mojacar about 40 minutes drive away.
Skiing
Skiing is available in the Sierra Nevadas about two hours drive away. There is about 64 km of ski runs and easy access to the ski resort.
Travel
The closest airport is Almeria and is 50 minutes drive away. Murcia airport is about an hour and a half and Alicante two hours away.
Distances
The closest towns are Albox and Chirivel and are both about 17km away, although there are a number of small villages and village shops close by. The cortijo is situated directly below the Saliente Santuario which is still regularly used for services. The monks quarters have now been converted in to a high class restaurant and cafeteria.
Further details
Albox has a good sized supermarket and has two markets a week. There are also a number of banks, restaurants and bars. Horse riding is available locally and water sports on the coast or naturally heated healing spa waters up in the Baza lakes area.
Booking notes
Deposit is half the amount of the holiday and is required on booking. Final payment is required eight weeks before commencement of holiday.
