Tucked into 8 acres of organic grounds are four traditionally-styled 1, 2 & two 3 bedroom Casitas with high wooden ceilings, open-plan living areas & shared swimming pool - each with their own private shaded patio & garden. Just minutes away are miles of glorious beaches, great restaurants, shops & markets, stunning nature reserves & a range of activities from wildlife tours to whale watching - while within easy reach are many of the historical and cultural gems of Jerez, Seville & even Morocco. The Cortijo can sleep up to eight guests in four en-suite bedrooms with its own private pool. For all our guests, El Sueno is a relaxed & mellow retreat - the antithesis to a managed holiday resort.

Changeover day
Properties are only available by the week, with a Saturday changeover (except Low Season). Arrival time is after 4pm and departure before 10am. ´Short Breaks´ from 4 -6 nights are also available during Low Season and last-minute in Regular Season.
Notes on accommodation
Finca El Sueño is a wonderful place for everyone to relax and enjoy year-round - with a range of high standard accommodation tucked into lovely grounds to suit families, couples and larger groups, each enjoying their own space. A shared utility room is available and weekly housekeeping included - with items for children under 5 years, childminding, additional housekeeping and catering also available on request. With their thick stone walls, high wooden ceilings and surrounded by mature trees, the houses remains cool in summer and warm in winter so no air-conditioning required - while seasonal insect screens & fans are provided in the Summer and a cosy woodburner & heating in the Winter for additional comfort. WiFi, iPod docking station, CD, DVD and a choice of international freeview satellite television (English incl BBC, German, Spanish and French) is also connected. No smoking or pets allowed, but guide dogs always welcome. Please see our Website or just ask for further details!
Accessibility
The estate is suitable for both disabled and wheelchair users, with small-gravelled pathways and direct parking. The pools have wide shallow Roman steps into 0.8m depth of water. In addition, the two larger Casitas are open-plan on one-level, leading straight out to the stone patios. One Casita also has a specially designed en-suite bathroom with open shower area, and wheelchair-adapted wc and sink. Although this property is slightly raised, it has both a ramp and steps to the front door.
Outside
Finca El Sueño is a private, very peaceful organic estate surrounded by trees and with stunning views across the valley to Vejer. We run our estate on a ecological basis so there is a wonderful array of unusual and rare birds, wildlife and plants all year-round - particularly in the ornamental herb gardens, orchards and water meadows below. The shared Casitas pool is spring-fed and cleaned by a silver and copper ioniser, 5m x 10m in size and from 0.8 to 2.2m in depth with wide internal Roman steps for easy entry/exit. Surrounded by walls and metal safety fence covered in climbing plants, a long shaded pergola and pool house housing a changing/bathroom - it is a perfect spot to relax and very family friendly. There is also a separate play area for children up to ten years with slides and swings.
Coast/Beach
Some of the best beaches on the Costa de la Luz are just 10 minutes away by car - the long golden beaches of El Pamar & Canos de Meca, and right up to Conil are particularly good for families in the summer and surfers in the winter. (Our Information Book gives details of over a dozen different ones to try!) Breezier Tarifa is less than 30 minutes away for those wishing to try kite-surfing.
Golf
Montenmedio Golf & Country is just 400m walk away and 'the layout of the tees and greens make this course one of the best in Europe both in quality and landscape', according to Spanish professional Severiano Ballesteros. There is an absence of urban development and this, added to the wooded surroundings, make it a natural paradise. Within a short drive away there are also several other excellent courses such as Montecastillo, Benalup, Arcos, Jerez & Sancti Petri - you can play a different course every day of the week and often with good discount rate.
Special interest holidays
Our guests can enjoy a range of activities such as golf and horseriding in the parklands of Dehesa Montenmedio, which is just a few minutes walk away (- which also hosts the annual international Sunshine Tour equestrian competition every Spring). There is a wealth of choice for nature lovers too - from whale and dolphin watching to safaris exploring the wonderful National Parks such Donana and Los Alcornocales, or simply birdwatching and enjoying the local flora and fauna walks. Your days can be as active or as laid-back as you wish and you also do not have to arrange everything in advance, rather just take it day by day. Tailor-made cookery courses and market mornings for all ages, sherry-tasting, a day-trip to Seville, Cadiz or even Morocco are firm favourites for those preferring the intellectual rather than the physical approach - please enquire for more details!
Travel
There are several airports that are all within driving distances offering a wide choice of airports and airlines for our guests. Jerez (40 mins), Gibraltar(1 hr), Seville (1.5 hours) and Malaga (2hrs) - all offering several airline carriers from many airports national and international. Car hire is essential due to our semi-rural location, and we are pleased to recommend a local company. Public transport and taxis are also available - although on a more limited basis than urbanised areas.
Distances
The beautiful 'white village' of Vejer de la Frontera is just 5 minutes by car, with the seaside villages and towns of El Palmar, Canos de Meca and Conil just 10-20 minutes away with miles of undeveloped golden beaches inbetween. The historic & cultural towns of Jerez, Seville, Ronda & Cadiz (to name just a few!) are also from 40 mins to a day trip distance. Morocco (Tangiers) is also just an hour or so away, door-to-door including the sea-cat!

There is a choice of excellent local restaurants and tapas bars, shops and local markets all within easy reach. Banks, internet cafes, doctors and pharmacies can be found in all local towns, including Vejer just 5 minutes away. For any particular requests or requirements, please just ask! Each property comes with its own Information Book containing essential and local information as well as suggestions for places to eat, visit and enjoy. Our wonderful chef can provide delicous home-cooked meals and tapas baskets as well as a shopping service on request - for everything from a first night supper to a family occasion.
