This is the villa for you if you want to get away from it all and have a break from your usual routine. Villa Camaleon is set in a quiet and private location surrounded by olive and almond groves. Views from the villa and outdoor areas are truly breathtaking towards the Mediterranean, the rugged mountains and the traditional pueblo blanco (white village) of Arenas nestling in the valley below. The interior of the villa is spacious and beautifully furnished to a very high standard, including everything you need for a fantastic self-catering holiday. Outside there is an al fresco dining area with barbecue, and a large roof terrace, perfect for sunbathing or just lying on a sun lounger enjoying a good book. Or you could sit with a pre-dinner drink on the sun soaked stone clad terrace by the private 8mx4m pool ,where there are ample sun loungers and a pergola to provide shade.

Changeover day
Changeover is Saturday in high season but flexible at other times of year. Check-in time is between 4pm and 11pm and checkout is 10am or before.

Notes on accommodation
Private yoga lessons are available in the villa from beginners to advanced.
3 gas heaters are supplied during winter months which together with the large open fireplace in the living area are ample to heat the villa. The villa is ideal for a family holiday however it is not suitable for children under the age of 10 due to the pool not being fenced and some steep banks due to the hillside location.

Outside
Villa Camaleon is set on a large plot and has plenty of outside space. The private 8m x 4m pool is surrounded by a very large flat paved terrace with 6 sunloungers and has a stunning outlook over mountains, the sea, and the white village of Arenas. Beside the villa is another terrace with built in BBQ, table and 8 chairs, ideal for al fresco dining, with the same fabulous views. There is also an additional large private roof terrace, great for soaking up the sun. All outdoor furniture is provided.
Coast/Beach
Caleta de Velez with clean beaches and a luxury private marina is just a 15 minute drive away. Torre Del Mar and wide sandy beaches are also only 15 minutes drive away.
Nerja with its picturesque coves and beaches and excellent restaurants is 35 minutes away by car.
Golf
Baviera Golf is an 18 hole course situated within walking distance to the beach at Caleta de Velez (15 minutes drive from the villa). Añoreta Golf, another 18 hole course is 30 minutes away.
Skiing
The skiing season runs from November to April in the picturesque Granada resort of Sierra Nevada, just 2 hours drive from the villa. It´s possible to go skiing in the morning and be back on the beach in the afternoon!

Travel
Malaga airport is 36kms/45 minutes by car. The nearest motorway junction is 15 minutes away at Torre del Mar. A car is essential due to the countryside location of the villa. Group B or above is recommended.
Distances
Arenas is 4km/ten minutes by car, Nerja town is a 35 minute drive. El Ingenio, a large covered shopping centre, bowling and ten screen multicinema is 15 minute drive.
Villa Camaleon is ideally located for visiting famous attractions like the Alhambra Palace, Granada, just one and a half hours drive away. The beautiful cities of Sevilla, Ronda, Cordoba and Malaga with its new Picasso museum are also within easy reach for daytrips.
Further details
Traditional Spanish Village: Arenas is a short drive away and is a traditional Pueblo Blanco or white village. Those who like to see the real Spain will fall in love with the tiny winding streets, the quaint village houses and of course the locals who always have a friendly greeting. Tourism hasn’t hit this village yet, and this is reflected in the prices, which are incredibly reasonable. A superb three course lunch can be had in Bar Juani for under 10 Euros, including a drink! Arenas is famous in Europe for having the largest population of chamaleons, whose colour changing skills are magical to watch. The area is also famed for romantic historic tales of the clashes between the Christians and the Moors. The ruins of one Moorish castle can be seen from the villa.
Larger amenities: all modern amenities can be found 4-5km from Villa Camaleon in the town of Velez-Malaga and its coastal neighbour Torre Del Mar. There is a large covered shopping centre with hypermarket between these two towns adjacent to the motorway, just a 15 minute drive from the Villa. Also in Velez-Malaga and Torre Del Mar there are a wide selection of supermarkets. Bars and restaurants are dotted on every corner, with all types and tastes being catered for at very reasonable prices. The typically Spanish fish restaurants are well worth a visit for their freshly caught shellfish and tapas, delicious!
Booking notes
Payment is required by via electronic bank transfer in pounds. A 200 euros damage deposit is payable in cash on arrival and refunded on departure day minus any breakages. The owners live closeby and will meet all guests on arrival to welcome you, show you around and hand over the keys. They are also on hand to help with anything you might need at any time during your holiday.
