Notes on accommodation
The communal pool is suitable for children under supervision. An extra bed, cot or high chair may be available on payment of an additional sum, if required.
There is a hairdryer available for use by tenants also.
Outside
There is a large terrace for 'al fresco' dining with a BBQ and a path close by leading through the gardens to the communal pool (about 25 meters away) for swimming and sunbathing. There is secure underground car parking with lift access/stairs to the ground floor.
Coast/Beach
An unspoilt beach across the road, with its own beach bar/restaurant, is only 300m away. The beautiful beaches at Sabinillas and Duquesa and are only 10 minutes' drive to the east and to the west Torreguardiaro, Sotogrande and Alcaidesa boast good beaches with many watersports including windsurfing, sailing and pedalos. At Gibraltar and La Linea (about 20-25 minutes' drive) you can go out on dolphin watching and fishing trips. A waterpark is open in the Summer in Algeciras, 30 minutes away.
Golf
The apartment is situated within easy reach of many golf courses including the world famous Ryder Cup course at Valderrama, the Real Club de Sotogrande, La Reserva de Sotogrande, the San Roque Club's old and new courses (venue for the Spanish Open 2006), the links courses at Alcaidesa, Almenara, La Canada, Duquesa and Estepona to say nothing of the further vast choice of courses along the coast, just 30 to 45 minutes drive away.
Skiing
Skiing at Granada in the Sierra Nevada is about a two hour drive away.
Travel
Gibraltar airport is a 20-25 minute drive with flights from London Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Manchester. Malaga Airport is about an hour on the E15 (AP7) toll road and Jerez Airport is about 1.5 hours by motorway. Car hire is essential but cabs are plentiful and can be easily arranged for evenings out to the local bars and restaurants at the local marinas of Duquesa and Sotogrande, the sea front at Torrequadiaro and the town of Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, if required.
Distances
Sotogrande, Duquesa, Sabinillas and Estepona are all within a 10 minute drive. Puerto Banus and Marbella with their designer shops, restaurants and nightlife are only about a 25 minute drive. The white villages of Manilva, dating back to Roman times, and San Roque are only a short drive away and Casares, another spectacular white village, is well worth a drive with many excellent restaurants to visit en route.
Further details
There are many shops and supermarkets in Duquesa, Sabinillas and Sotogrande where you can find most things you might need together with numerous international restaurants ranging from typical Spanish to Japanese. The closest supermarket (Eroski) is at the next roundabout from the apartment towards Duquesa and there are two large supermarkets (Mercadona and Supercor) near to Sotogrande. There is an English butcher in Puerto Duquesa and Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro and English newspapers can be found in both places as well as a small shop along the coast road in Torreguardiaro. A non-refundable booking fee of 25% of the rental cost will secure a booking and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival. Check availability and book through owners' website. We strongly recommend you take out adequate travel insurance to cover this eventuality and your personal possessions.
