Casa Estrella is situated high in La Celima, a wooded unspoilt area just outside Casares village in Southern Spain. It commands magnificent views in all directions. To the South is a stunning view down the valley to the sea, Gibraltar and Morocco beyond. To the North and West are mountain views of the Sierra Crestellina and Sierra Bermeja, whilst to the East is the Mediterranean and Estepona. Casares was first settled by the Romans and was home to one of Caeser's favourite centurians. It is one of Spain's famous white villages, perched on a cliff high in the hills above the coast. This is a rural part of Spain with rugged mountains and large areas of unspoilt national park.

Notes on prices
Prices shown are for the property per week in Sterling, Saturday to Saturday. Outside peak season, it is possible to rent the property starting and finishing on days other than saturdays. Please call us if this suits you better.

Changeover day
Saturday is preferred with a morning departure and afternoon arrival to allow time for cleaning and linen change. However, outside high season, flexible arrival and departure days can be arranged as requested.

Bedrooms: There are 2 double and 2 twin rooms with 2 camp beds for children if required. Clients can either rent the main house only (up to 6 guests) at a reduced price or the cottage as well (8 guests).
Bathrooms: All bedrooms have ensuite bathroom, shower facility and wc. There is an additional downstairs wc and basin.
Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher.
Utility Room: Clothes washing machine and dryer.
Living Rooms: Dining room with great view to coast. Living room with satellite TV, DVD player, stereo, radio, wood burner.
Other: Downstairs wc in addition to ensuite bathrooms. All rooms have stunning views.

linen/maid service:
Towels and linen are included. A full clean and linen change takes place once a week or more frequently if requested.

Outside
The property has mature gardens with an automated irrigation system, so is green all summer. It contains various citrus and fruit trees, Oleander, Hibiscus, Bougainvillaea, Dama De Noche etc. It has a gas barbecue and outdoor tables and chairs plus sun loungers. The house is built on two levels with the main house on the lower level (with three bedrooms) and the private swimming pool and self contained cottage on the upper level. All rooms have excellent views as does the swimming pool. The cottage also has a kitchen including fridge/freezer, gas hob and oven for use for meals taken around the pool.

Coast/Beach
Closest beach is Estepona beach 10-15 minutes drive, with endless mediterranean beaches in both directions. Tarifa for windsurfing, kite surfing etc is 1 hour's drive with Bolonia beach (probably the prettiest beach in the region)a further 15 minutes beyond.

Golf
There are 4 new golf developments within 15 minutes drive, providing five 18 hole courses and two 9 hole courses: 1. Casares golf and country club, 9 holes, 10 minutes. 2. El Cortesin with Jack Nicklaus academy, 18 holes,10 minutes. 3. Dona Julia, 3 18 hole courses, first one is now open, 10 minutes. 4. Valle Romano 27 holes, 9 holes open, 15 minutes. Other local courses include; Estepona Golf club, 15 minutes drive; La Duquesa 20 minutes; Sotogrande, Valderrama, Almenara, La Reserva, La Canada (all in the Sotogrande complex)30 minutes; San Roque (2 courses) 30 minutes. Alcaidesa 35 minutes. Numerous other courses east up the coast. We offer special prices for golfers on application.

Skiing
Sierra Nevada skiing December - April is a 3 hour drive from the property. Great fun for a few days in the middle of your stay.

Travel
Nearest airport is Gibraltar 45 minutes drive. Malaga is 1 hour and 15 minutes drive. Jerez is 1 hour and 30 minutes. Car hire or use of car is essential. All airports are easy to reach by motorway.

Distances
Casares is nearest village 3 kms with access by car or walking. Estepona for major supermarket shopping is 15 - 20 minutes drive. Sotogrande is 30 minutes drive with golf, polo, shops, restaurants, bars etc in the harbour. Gaucin is a 30 minute drive into the mountains with Rhonda another 40 minutes beyond. Going east up the coast Marbella and Puerto Banus are a 45 minutes drive away.

Further details
There are 2 of the best restaurants in the area within 5 minutes of the villa. Arroyo Hondo offers international cuisine of the highest standard whilst The Forge offers many local specialities as well as old favourites next door. Both restaurants cater for all tastes and have varied and extremely high class menus. Simple shopping and banking is available in Casares, with some good local restaurants there. Venta Victoria and Venta Molina (Both 10 minutes drive) offer good quality local Spanish food.

Bookings should be made by email with a deposit paid to reserve the required period and full payment made before arrival. Bank details will be provided. In certain circumstances cash payments can be made on arrival by arrangement.
