The terrace looks out towards the sea, down to the communal swimming pool and across to the tennis, football and basket ball courts. The apartment is 2 minutes walk to the fantastic 7km of fine sandy beach. Satellite TV DVD CD Digital Radio all BBC channels and an i pod / MP3 speaker, DVD film collection, games fictional and children's books available in the apartment for guests to enjoy during there stay. Small modern kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Set in the Marina with bars, restaurants, mini super markets, shops and beach bars bicycle hire, water sports, fishing and golf. Isla Canela is a peaceful, under-developed natural conservation island linked by bridge to Ayamonte just inside Spain next to Portugal.

Notes on prices
Prices are based on occupancy of four persons, please add £50 per week per person for the 5th /6th persons to cover the extra cost of the linen, towels, utilities and cleaning. If the cot and high chair are being hired for the extra person then this will ne included in the extra fifth or sixth person fee.
For non British guests we can quote and take payment in Euros into my Spanish bank.

Changeover day
Changeover days flexible During July and August we prefer week to week bookings (please see calendar for available dates).
We ask guests to leave by 11.00 am and allow new guests in after 4.00pm but where we can be flexible we are.

Notes on accommodation
Modern trendy but luxurious apartment with high quality equipment eg all Bosch Appliances. Cot with one set of bedding and high chair available to higher £25 extra per week. provided free of charge baby bath, changing mat and toddler table and two chairs.
There is a large selection of DVD films, games and fictional and children’s books in the lounge/dining room with very comfortable sofa bed, dining table and 6 chairs with a 28 inch Satellite TV, DVD/CD/ Digital Radio with 5 speakers. New ipod/MP3 speaker.
Outside
Sea view terrace that is also overlooking the foot ball basket ball tennis and paddle tennis sports courts. The 5 miles of golden sandy beach is a three walk away. If you look to the right you will see the apartment communal swimming pool for the apartment block open from Easter to the end of September. There is a beautiful collection of flowering and shrub plants all around the swimming pool area. The terrace is a nice size and we have a wrought iron round table with frosted glass top and four matching chairs with thick back and seat padded cushion. There is also a storage box with various beach equipment inside that can be used by guests. The terrace is lit at night. We provide ashtrays for people who wish to smoke but please only smoke on the terrace. The apartment is a no smoking apartment.
Coast/Beach
In front of my apartment is the public tennis, football, basket ball courts & mini climbing framefor everyone to useand just beyond this is the most amazing 7 km beach in front of the palm tree lined promenade step onto the wooden planked path walk through the sand dunes and you will be emerging onto the most amazing sandy beach, no over crowding here a genuine Spanish resort with it’s fishing, kite flying, water sports, sun beds & beach bars discreetly placed blending in with the surroundings.
Golf
The nearest Golf course is Isla Canela, only a 5 minute drive away. This is an 18 hole, par 72 mature course that is relatively flat with water hazards. Buggies, trolleys and clubs are available for hire and the restaurant provides excellent fare. There are 2 bowling greens, a swimming pool and a driving range adjacent to the club house. A teaching professional is available for all levels of instruction. There are 4 other Spanish golf courses within easy driving reach. Note in particular Islantilla Golf Club a spectacular 27 hole championship course (currently being extended to 36) within half an hours drive with all the facilities one would expect of a first rate club. It was host to the Spanish Open Golf Tournament in 1995 and in 2000 Golf Digest magazine rated it in the top 100 best European golf courses.
Travel
45 mins from Faro Portugal or 1 hour 30 mins from Sevilla Spain also 3 hours from Jerez airport.
Distances
The flats are part of a marina complex in a nature park Isla Canela with an authentic fishing village across from the Port. The beautiful Spanish town of Ayamonte is a 10 minute car drive away. The Famous town of Sevilla with its unique Cathedral and Festivals is 1 hour 15 minutes car drive away. There is easy access to the Portuguese Algarve which starts 10 minutes away by car. To the East you have the famous DONÃNA National Park one of the biggest Nature reserves in Europe.
Further details
Our apartment is in Marina IV next to the Isla Canela Marina with it's shops bars Ice cream Parlour two mini supermarkets and restaurants. There is also a shop to hire bikes cars and arrange tours to Seville Donana National Park Algarve and boat trips. Across from the marina is the local fishing village which also has a Chemist Ice cream parlor supermarket restaurants and bars both selling tapas the local catch of the day. Along the beach front is a selection of hotels with mini hotel shops, entertainment in the evenings and spa facilities.
It is a ten minute drive into the local town of Ayamonte where you park on the outskirts of town and walk through the cobbled shopping streets. There is a covered food market open from early morning to 14.00 hours Monday to Saturday selling the fresh catch of the day and local produce, the area is famous for it's strawberries and garlic growing. There is a wide selection of shops from clothes shoe toy interior design with a local artist section and for those of you who might just want to sample the local tapes you will not be disappointed with the choice on offer here. Tourist information office Banks dentist doctor post office solicitor estate agent shops and offices can also be found in the town of Ayamonte. There are two large palm tree tiled pretty squares which are used by the locals for all the various fiesta holidays that this region of Spain hold each year.
On the outskirts of the town by the bus station is a market held every Saturday morning. A new shopping centre by the BP garage has opened with a large Macadona supermarket. Ayamonte shops opening and closing times are Monday to Friday 09.30 to 13.00 hours close for lunch/siesta open again 16.30 to 20.00 hours Saturday 09.30 to 14.00 hours then closed for the rest of the day and closed all day Sunday. If you don't fancy the short drive across the bridge to Portugal you can get the ferry across the river to Vila Real de Santo António for some more great shopping.

We can if necessary give a no obligation 24 hour hold on the dates you wish to book to enable you to buy your flights and hire a car knowing you have the apartment reserved. Payment is due in full if booking within three months of arrival date. If booking is more than three months from arrival then please send us the full amount three months before departure. Please note you are responsible to take out your own travel insurance.

About the owner
My name is Caroline and I have been married for twenty five years to Marcus and we have two wonderful children both in their early twenties. I am a very tidy and organized person which is reflected in my apartment I enjoy shopping especially for items for my home and for the apartments I rent out. To me a trip whether to Ikea or a Spanish flea market is an experience that gives me the opportunity to indulge my taste for interior design. Having been a busy housewife bringing up my children I know how important holidays are but also how challenging they can be for the mum so it gives me great satisfaction to ensure my apartments provide the experience I would want and to get the feedback I get from visitors to my apartments about their time there.
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Before buying an apartment in Spain I travelled up and down the Costas from Denia to Portugal. I knew I loved the Costa Del Sol but I wanted to see what else was on offer. I came to Isla Canela by luck having been booked into the Hotel Riu to be shown Costa De Luz but as soon as I arrived I feel in love with the Island (its not a proper Island because you can drive across). The beach is simply the best beach I have seen. The palm trees, the weather, the incredibly cute town of Ayamonte, the access to the Algarve, the fishing village, the whole atmosphere of the marina where we are lucky enough to have a flat as one of the earlier purchasers. Its difficult to explain how magical it is. Sit on the dock in the sun listening to the bell of the boats and you are in paradise
Unique benefits of the property
Our flat is facing away from the marina and toward the sea which you can see from our balcony. In the heart of the Island it is a 2 minute walk to the beach, next to the shops and restaurants in the marina with its own parking space. I like to think of it as small but perfectly formed. Everything you could want is there. Games books DVDs a DVD player music centre Ipod player CDs satellite TV a completely equipped kitchen with all the items you would expect from home but not cheap holiday home versions but full sized proper ones from manufacturers like Bosch. Very easy to reach by car from Faro airport in Portugal you have a wealth of things to see and do Trips to Seville or Donana National Park or Vilamoura or La Quinta in Portugal. It is where I holiday myself.
