Casa de Medina is located on a quiet, semi-pedestrianized street in the historical quarter of Medina Sidonia. Medina Sidonia enjoys an enviable and elevated position in the geographical centre of the province of Cádiz in southern Spain. The fresh fish and endless beaches of Cádiz are renown throughout Spain and the proud locals are happy to share the delights of this lesser known province with a welcome warmer than the almost ever shining sun. Improved road and air access to this relatively undiscovered region has made Medina Sidonia and the Costa de la Luz the new ‘up and coming’ area of Andalucía.

Bed & Breakfast: Prices in €, based on staying minimum of 2 nights. If staying just 1 night, add 10€ per room.

Self Catering: Free Group B car for all clients who book before 31 March 2009; clients who book before 28 February will get a free upgrade to a Group C car and if they book before 31 January they will receive a free upgrade to a Group D car.

As an added bonus, clients who demonstrate by email that they have recommended Casa de Medina can earn up to a 10% discount.

Changeover day
Flexible - those who book first get the first choice of rooms and dates to suit their requirements. Casa de Medina can be booked as a private house with private pool.

Each of the ensuite bedrooms is individually appointed - the crisp cotton sheets, plump feather pillows, traditional wood furniture and original prints all reflect the owners’ love of Mediterranean style. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan for the hotter summer nights, SKY TV, Spanish TV, DVD and CD player. The pretty bedrooms, refreshing pool and flower-filled pool terrace are on the first floor whilst on the lower level the bodega and attractive living-dining room open onto the enchanting Andaluz patio. Many guests enjoy the panoramic views from the roof terrace, from where one can cast one’s eye over a patchwork of undulating tiled roofs and church spires to the rural splendour of rolling hills – fringed by the Atlantic Ocean. On a clear day you can even see the Rif Mountains of Morocco shimmering in the distance! Smokers are invited to smoke in the patio or on the terraces so that the bedroom and living-dining room remain smoke free for all guests to enjoy.

 

Notes on accommodation
There is underfloor heating in most room for our guests comfort in the cooler winter months. Complimentary 'wireless' internet access is available for all guests to enjoy. Casa de Medina and indeed Medina Sidonia are not best suited to those with walking difficulties due the challenges faced with life in village built on the side of a steepish hill.

Outside
The swimming pool is approx 7m x 3m and is for the exclusive use of the guests of Casa de Medina. The pool terrace is ideal for sunbathing early and late season. The roof terrace often benefits from the cooling breeze on the hotter days in the peak of summer.

Coast/Beach
Medina Sidonia is less than half an hour's drive from the golden and often deserted, beaches of Chiclana, Barbate & El Palmar.

Golf
Within a short drive guests at Casa de Medina may enjoy a wide range of attractions - these might include the golf courses of Benalup, Chiclana, Vejer or Jerez de la Frontera.

We are delighted to offer themed weeks based in Casa de Medina where we will explore some of the cultural treasures of the local area and discover the culinary delights of Spain.

Travel
Improved road and air access to this relatively undiscovered region has made Medina Sidonia and the Costa de la Luz the new ‘up and coming’ area of Andalucía. International flights arrive at the following local airports which are an easy drive from Medina Sidonia. Jerez 40min Gibraltar 50min Seville 1hr 20min Málaga 2hr Car hire is recommended although we can arrange transfers from Jerez, Gibraltar and Seville airports.

Distances
One may visit the historic towns of Cádiz, Jerez, Vejer & Arcos de la Frontera or the Natural Parks of Los Alcornocales and Grazalema. A ‘must do’ is the stunning capital of Andalucía - Seville whilst the incomparable towns of Ronda and the breathtaking Mezquita in Córdoba are an easy and rewarding day trip.

Further details
The pretty town of Medina Sidonia boasts an attractive central plaza which bustles with life for much of the year. There is a wide selection of restaurants, bars, shops, banks and all the modern conveniences to be as relaxed or 'up to speed' as possible.

Booking notes
25% deposit amount due to confirm the booking, non-refundable.
The final balance (75% of the total cost) to be paid a minimum of 8 weeks before arrival.
Accommodation booked less than 8 weeks prior to arrival to be paid in full at time of booking.
Cancellation:
If such notification is received more than 56 days before the arrival date, only the deposit will be retained. Otherwise, the following charges apply:
43 - 55 days = 40%
29 - 42 days = 60%
15 - 28 days = 80%
14 days or more = 100%
