Luxury Spacious 2 bedroom villa, each with en-suite. Set high amongst the olive groves, enjoying panoramic views of the Andalucian Mountains and valley below, including the ruins of the historic monastery. Situated on the edge of the friendly village of La Atalaya, which has two bars, a bakery and two small shops, all within easy walking distance. La Atalaya holds its annual Feria in May, here you can enjoy local the Tapas and the gayly painted street fair. We have a guest bar and also offer catering on request. The adjoining town of Villanueva De Algaidas is larger and has a full range of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, banks, chemists, and has a street market each Friday. Nearby is the town of Antequera with fashionable shops, bars, restaurants and its many buildings of historic interest. Iznajar only a short drive away with its ancient Moorish castle overlooking the lake of Andalucia. Perfectly situated for easy touring access of Malaga, Cordoba, Granada and Seville.

Notes on accommodation
Ceiling fans in all rooms. Log burner in lounge. We offer an evening menu with daily fresh local produce and full use of the guest bar. As a private rural country residence pets are welcome.

Although the pool is shared with the owners we do respect your privacy and only use the pool at convenient times for you.
Coast/Beach
Lake Iznajar (approx. 20 mins) there is a large beach where you can swim, sail, canoe or windsurf from in the summer months. Pedaloes also for hire. Beachside cafe/restaurant. The Costa del Sol lies approx 1 hour away offering a huge choice of beaches if required. Here there are many coastal attractions ideal for children such as Water parks at Velez-Malaga, Mijas, Torremolinos, Selwo marina/dolphinarium and Safari park, Tivoli theme park with rides, Fuengirola Zoo, Crocodile Park.
Golf
Antiquera Golf course,18 hole par 72, measuring 6,030 meters, with a total of ten lakes. It was designed by Jose Maria Canizares and is situated approx. 650 meters above sea level. Set amidst superb mountain scenery. The firsthalf of the course provides views over the Antequera plains, the second half is situated at the foot of the famous El Torcal mountains. The course lies approx 20 mins away. There is also a large choice of courses along the Costa del Sol within a 50 minute drive.
Skiing
The Ski resort of Sierra Nevada lies approx. 1 1/2 hours drive to the east, near Granada. Excellent facilities cater for all abilities, offering hire of all skiing equipment, including a dedicated snow-board area. Husky dog sledge rides and snow bikes are for hire. The resort is also a great favourite for walkers in winter and summer.

Bird guiding half days or full days around the lake and surrounding area can be arranged with a local experienced birder subject to notice. Guided walking tours arranged in and around the local area subject to notice.

Well situated for easy motorway access to Granada, Cordoba, Seville and Malaga. The charming town of Antequera is approx 30km with interesting attractive Baroque architecture, many impressive churches, Moorish castle with gardens above town, ancient bull ring and excellent shop.

The property is situated within an unspoilt typically rural location which produces some of Spain's finest olive oil. The olive harvesting period runs from approx December to March.
Walking: There are many local walks of varying degrees of difficulty, with tracks and trails around the nearby lake with stunning views and for more serious walkers the GR7 (Gran Recorrido) footpath which crosses Andalucia passes very close by & into Cordoba province through the beautiful & dramatic SIERRAS SUBETICA Parque natural.
The EL TORCAL- Parque natural with remarkable limestone rock formations, abundant flora and fauna, walking trails & incredible views towards the Mediterranean lies south of Antequera. Approx 50 mins.
Fuente de Piedra with its huge lagoon & nature reserve is famous for hundreds of flamingo and at least 30 species of aquatic birds.approx 40 mins.
