The apartment at Casa del Tajo - 'The House on the Cliff' occupies a unique position, overlooking the spectacular mountain scenery of Andalucia. It is close to the village swimming pool (July/Aug) and only a short walk from the centre of the picturesque mountain village of Comares, which stands 700m above sea level. The apartment above the owner's property, has a private front door and staircase, leading up to the rooms above. As you step out onto the spacious terrace, you need time to pause and drink in the breathtaking views. From here you can survey the mules and goats being taken down the steep track that winds below the cliff. Look out for kestrels, that nest on the rock beneath you. Comares, with narrow,cobbled streets,is steeped in history and can be traced back to the 3rd Century BC. Today there are bars, restaurants, banks & a small supermarket. The pace of life is slow and in keeping with the past. The Apartment is family run,with help at hand. Regular repeat bookings.

Changeover day
Changeover Day is normally Saturday, but we are very flexible and try to fit in with your holiday dates.

| Living Rooms: | As you ascend the narrow stairway you pass the shower room and emerge under the barrel roof with balcony living room (Double sofa bed, TV and Video) on one side and kitchen on the other. |
| Other: | Further enclosed sitting area with stunning views & situated between the domed bedroom, kitchen, & exit to the terrace. |

The apartment will be cleaned before arrival. Fresh linen & towels are provided weekly. (Beach towels may be available by special request.) |
Notes on accommodation
There is air conditioning in the bedroom. The unit can also be used for heating. Electric halogen fires are available in the other rooms. This property is unsuitable for children under 10yrs.

Panoramic views from spacious terrace with table, chairs, sunbeds & barbecue.
Coast/Beach
Approx.40 mins drive to Torre del Mar. Sandy beaches and promenade.
Approx. 1 hour drive, Nerja has outstanding beaches.
Golf
Golf course situated approx. 40 mins drive away near Torre del Mar.
Skiing
Approx. 1.5 hours drive to the ski resort in the Sierra Nevada.
Special interest holidays
The beautiful countryside around Comares with its spectacular views and mountain paths, is a favourite with walkers and bird watchers.
Look out for Kestrels nesting on the rock beneath Casa del Tajo. Also Black wheatear, Griffin vultures and Bee eaters to name but a few.
Travel
Approx. 1 hour to Malaga Airport. Car Rental is also at the airport. Please contact us,if you would like advice about car rental firms. Car hire is recommended but not essential. It is possible to book a taxi from the airport to Comares.
Distances
Approx. 35 mins drive to Velez-Malaga with Aquapark, shopping centre with cinema, large supermarket -Eroski(where you may need your passport to back up your credit card). Approx. 40 mins to Torre del Mar (beach, market, go-karting & golf). Approx. 1 hour to Nerja (famous caves, outstanding beaches)
Further details
The Alhambra Palace at Granada, Seville, Cordoba & Ronda are all within striking distance. Open air swimming pool at Comares available in summer. This area would appeal to photographers, hikers, bird-watchers, artists and mountain bikers.

Provisional bookings can be made by e-mail or telephone. Please book your flight as a matter of urgency. A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to make a firm booking. The balance will be required 6 weeks before your holiday begins.
INSURANCE - You are advised to take out adequate personal & cancellation insurance protection in case of emergency.
