Our cosy, comfortable apartment (new furnishing) is fully equipped for long or short breaks; set on an exclusive coastline situated away from the coast roads with a private cliff-top promenade of palms it has sea views and a stunning backdrop of mountains. Eating on the balcony watching the sun change on the sierras is recommended! A secluded beach is a few minutes from the promenade and there’s an excellent residents’ swimming pool and congregational plaza with pergola and planters. The nearest town is Villajoyosa, famed for its multicoloured fishermen’s houses, marina and beautiful un-crowded beaches. Further south is the smart, cosmopolitan port of Alicante. A few kilometres north, hidden by a headland is Benidorm with a huge variety of shops, nightlife, eateries and amazing beaches. At the foot of the mountains is a tasteful all year theme park and a huge, beautiful new golf course - a few minutes further and you are in the mountains with breathtaking views for miles around.

Changeover day
Changeover days are flexible when possible; please discuss your preferences. Ideally we ask that departure is by noon and earliest arrival is 3pm although this is dependent upon previous/subsequent bookings.

Notes on accommodation
Suitable for children of all ages. Linen & towels provided (but please bring your own beach towels.) There are radiators in each room for winter tenants and ceiling fans for the summer. All of the windows have continental shutters which provide shade whilst allowing air-flow. We have invested in new Latex Matresses and Pillows which are hygenic, non-allergenic and much more comfortable than the standard letting bedding in these apartments. Also we have upgraded the furniture with a comfortable quality 3-seater sofa and armchair, outdoor dining table and chairs for al fresco eating and decent stainless steel cookware. There are lifts to all floors and a communal roof terrace with fabulous views all round. We can provide a Welcome Pack comprising of bread, marg, water, milk etc so that you don't have to rush to the supermarket on arrival.

Outside
There is a beautiful coastal park and promenade in front of the apartments leading down to beaches north and south. There are two good-sized, child-friendly swimming pools open to residents only set in pleasantly planted green areas with showers and spa/jacuzzi. There are two gated plazas with planted centrepiece, pagodas and seating where residents can congregate and where children can play safely.

Coast/Beach
The nearest is Playa Torres about 5 minutes walk north down the headland; it is quite private and sandy in the middle section. In season there is ususally a beach bar open until late. About 10 minutes walk south are more bays with rock pools, pebbles and also some surprisingly good waves! By car 10 minutes south Villajoyosa beaches are clean, un-crowded and beautifully sandy with foot showers, decent loos and climbing frames. Benidorm is 15 minutes drive north with its famous sweeping sands.

Golf
Bonalba Golf is an excellent championship standard 18-hole par 72, 6100m course. Surrounded by mountains and the sea spread out over the gentle slopes of Sierra de Bonalba with palm trees, pines, stunning lakes and luxurious vegetation. Nearer Alicante is San Juan the new Seve Ballesteros champion course located in the city near the beach. Ample flat fairways are interspersed with water hazards and out of bounds the course increases in difficulty. El Plantio course has an 18-hole and 9-hole course. The par 72, 6302 metres 18-holes designed by Manual Ferry in 2000 benefits from its wide open lush location. Further afield are La Sella Golf Club 18 holes par 72; next to Montgo Nature Park and marvellous scenery. Nine holes were designed by Olazabal. Nearby in Altea la Vieja is the 9-hole Don Cayo, a beautiful but challenging well kept par 36 course, between the sea and the Sierra de Bernia mountain range. Travel
Alicante airport is about 30-40 minutes drive south and is a civilised airport with everything you need but is not too big with plenty of choices for car hire. Although a car is recommended especially to explore the mountains and surroundings it is feasible to get a cab to and from the airport and for occasional shopping or going out in the evenings.

Distances
The local fishing port of Villajoyosa is about 2 kms to the south. The bay of Benidorm is about 6 kms to the north. The mountain town of Finestrat is about 8 kms inland. Terra Mitica theme park and golf course are about 5 kms north. Altea, a smart seaside town is worth a visit and is about 15 kms north. Guadalest is a fantastic mountain village about 25 kms inland. Alicante airport is 43 kms south, the town centre and port is a little closer.

Further details
The nearest supermarket is at a 24hr petrol station/shop and is 15 mins walk. There is a good Mercadona in Villajoyosa + underground parking although if you want to avoid the town there’s an excellent Carrefour in the opposite direction together with a great covered shopping mall and multiscreen cinema about 10 minutes drive along the main road (with plenty of parking). There are also banks and ATMs in both of those places and of course everything you can think of in Benidorm itself. There is a Casino with restaurant about 5 minutes along the main road quite close to a modern hospital. There are two good outdoor go-kart tracks within 10 minutes drive and a tennis club a few minutes walk away. Pedal bikes and scooters can be hired locally and horse riding is available in the foothills of the nearby mountains. Terra Mitica is open most of the year and has nightly shows and fireworks, Terra Natura is soon to be open and there are many parks and walks locally and further afield. Eating out is easy; there are some great places on the seafront at Villajoyosa, in Finestrat and of course (the massively improved) Benidorm has a huge variety of nightlife and top class restaurants. Alicante is also a port with trips to Ibiza and coastal cruises stopping off at Benidorm and Altea and Denia further to the north. There are also good bus and train services running parallel with the coast with the historic city of Valencia just over an hour to the north. Road access is easy with two main roads (one a toll road) which are some way inland but make getting up and down the coast very quick and easy. Markets: there are excellent morning markets at Benidorm on Sundays, Altea on Tuesdays and Villajoyosa on Thursdays.

Booking notes
A deposit of 50% is payable on booking, with the balance 2 months before arrival. We also ask for an additional deposit against breakage and loss of £100 when the balance of the rent is paid. This will be refunded to you directly after the return of the keys at the end of the holiday when the apartment has been cleaned and checked.
