Just 10 minutes walk from a sandy beach, and easy access to the beautiful coastline and many lovely beaches in this area, all of which have EEC Blue Flag status and many with children's play equipment. In season there are paddle boats, windsurfers, sunbeds and parasols for hire.

Kitchen: Modern kitchen fitted in 2007. Fully equipped with ceramic hob, oven below and dishwasher. Also microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. Plenty of glasses, chinaware and cutlery to allow for loaded dishwasher, also tupperware, salad dishes.
Utility Room: Utility room to rear of property with large sink (perfect for washing out sandy swimwear), concertina dryer out of back window, washing machine, ironing board and iron.
Living Rooms: Spacious sitting room with cream sofa (new 2009), chairs, dining table (seats 4), television/DVD player, CD/radio. Woodburning stove. Two ceiling fans. Oil filled radiator. There are throws for the sofa and we ask guests to please use these.

Rental includes towels (not beach towels), bed linen (pillows, duvets and blankets) (including cot bedding). Rental includes one changeover at end of stay: bedding, towels/launder, cleaning. Stays of two weeks include mid-stay linen/towels change/launder.

Notes on accommodation
This apartment is located on the first floor of a block of 16 apartments (ground floor/first floor only) with stairs to access (no lift). There are ceiling fans in the master bedroom and sitting room, as well as a box fan in the second bedroom. There is no air conditioning. The apartment does not have central heating, but there are electric radiators and a lovely wood-burning stove in the sitting room for the cooler months. We can offer a travel cot and other equipment for families with young children (potty, step, changing mat). There is a lawned area to the front of the apartments where guests can sit and children can play. The swimming pool and tennis court are located just across the quiet road a few steps down.

Accessibility
This apartment is located on the first floor of a block of 16 apartments (ground floor/first floor only) with stairs to access (no lift).

Outside
The apartment is on the first floor of a small block (ground and first floor only - stairs access), set in pretty gardens in a quiet area of Las Fuentes. The swimming pool and tennis court are situated just across the road in a private garden with a lockable gate (used only by the residents of this urbanisation). The pool is a good size with shallow area for young children and showers (new in 2009). It is set in pretty gardens with shaded areas from the trees. Please note the pool is unheated and open July and August only.

Coast/Beach
There are numerous sandy beaches as well as pretty, quieter, rock & pebble beaches along this stretch of coastline. The nearest sandy beach is around 10 minutes walk away. The beach has a bar, children's play equipment, pedalos, beds and parasols for hire. Past here, the beaches continue with Carregador, Romana, Moro beach and more.

Golf
There are 2 golf courses are within 30 minutes drive, Panoramica and Mediterraneo.

Skiing
Skiing in Valdinares approximately one and a half hour's drive.

Travel
Barcelona airport 2 hours' drive. Reus airport, one and a half hour drive. Valencia airport one hour's drive. Car hire is recommended and most of the major rental companies operate from Valencia and Barcelona.

Distances
Morella a beautiful walled medieval city, is around an hour's drive away. Peniscola with its castle is about 15 minutes. Aquarama, a fantastic water theme park is around half an hour away; very clean and excellent facilities with wave machines, baby and child area, lovely pools and waterfalls. Universal's Port Aventura, one of Europe's best theme parks, with giant roller coasters, log flumes and fantastic rides for all ages, is around an hour away, close to Barcelona.

Further details
The apartment is within easy reach of numerous bars, restaurants and cafes, the closest being around the Marina, about 10-15 minutes walk, with further facilities in Las Fuentes itself and Alcossebre town. The restaurants here offer very good traditional Spanish food (paella, tapas, fish) at reasonable prices. Alternatively, many offer pizza, pasta, burgers and other fare. There are very few "British-style pubs". Most are Spanish-owned.

50% deposit required upon booking, fully refundable up to 6 weeks before departure. Security deposit required, refundable within 2 weeks of return. Smoking is not permitted at all inside the apartment.

Our names are Amanda and Ian and we live in Tunbridge Wells, Kent with our 2 boys, aged 9 and 6.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought our property in 2003 when I was 5 months pregnant with our youngest son. Bought in haste, but not regretted - the apartment has been our "white house in the sun" (our boys' name for it) and we have enjoyed many holidays. We chose Las Fuentes because it was well-established, quiet and residential. The many villas and houses are all beautifully maintained and our road remains quiet even in the busiest August. Alcossebre has changed a lot since then, but remains a family-friendly, bustling Spanish town where we can always relax with our children. The variety of beaches means we can always visit somewhere different each day. The restaurants are excellent and offer wonderful food - at almost any time of day so we don't have to "clock-watch" and can relax.

Unique benefits of the property
We chose our apartment because we loved the space it offered. With a budget for an apartment and a family of four, we didn't want to feel cramped and we found many "new-builds" simply didn't offer the same space. The utility room is so handy meaning we don't have to sit surrounded by clutter and laundry. The generous wardrobes mean we can stash all our stuff without tripping over cases for the length of our stay. We worked hard to equip the kitchen properly - we cook a lot when we stay there and wanted it to be a pleasure, not a toil. The dishwasher was a salvation! We've made sure there's plenty of glassware, china and plastic cups and plates for the kids and practical stuff like tupperware for leftovers.
