Casa de Jose is a beautifully restored Spanish house in the quiet village of Los Terreros. It is only about 30 minutes to the Mediterranean coast (about 40 to the resort of Mojacar), 10 minutes from the town of Albox and half a mile from the nearest bar/restaurant. It is beautifully located on the side of the Almanzora valley with views down over orange groves in the valley or up over the almond and olive trees on the hills behind. Notes on prices
Easter, Christmas, New Year, February half term, October half term and Whit half term weeks plus £50pw. Rental prices quoted are for parties of up to 6 persons. A £50 p.p. supplement is payable for extra people (up to a maximum of 8). Please check first. No more than 4 children per party please.
Prices are for the house per week. Additional days are charged pro rata. The house is not normally available during winter (see availability screen) but prices do include central heating.

Changeover day
We can be fairly flexible about changeover day (depending on existing bookings). Access is from 5pm on the first day booked to 10 am on the last day.

Bedrooms: Upstairs: 1 king, 1 double and 1 twin.
Downstairs: 1 double.
All bedrooms are equipped with bedside cabinets, lamps, wardrobes and fans.
Bathrooms: 1 full en-suite upstairs (a large room with twin sinks, bath with shower over and wc) and a large family shower room downstairs with large shower, sink and wc.
Kitchen: Large modern English style kitchen diner. Fully equipped with table and 6 chairs, oven, hob, cooker hood, microwave, integral fridge, dishwasher, kettle, toaster plus plenty of crockery etc
Utility Room: Separate utility area with washing machine and additional fridge/freezer.
Living Rooms: Large living room with 2 sofas, English/SpanishTV, video, DVD, coffee tables, table, 4 chairs, desk and bookcase full of English books. Separate dining room with table (which converts to a small snooker table), 6 chairs, sideboard and CD player.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
The house is cleaned and bed linen changed between guests. Cleaning equipment and spare linen is available for your use during your stay. We ask guests to provide their own bath and pool towels.

 

Notes on accommodation
Casa de Jose is a rustic style Spanish house but has been tastefully renovated to a high standard. It has traditional beamed ceilings and beautiful tiled floors throughout. The thick traditional walls mean that the interior is cool in summer and warm in winter. However, the house has central heating for the coldest months and fans in all rooms for the hottest ones.

Outside
The house is set in beautiful gardens full of flowers and fruit trees including almonds, olives, apple, pear, figs, oranges and lemons (with a hammock next to). There is a private 8x4m private pool with shower (maintained by a pool company), various terraces on 3 sides of the house (including around the pool), a netted gazebo to allow for shaded outdoor eating without the intrusion of insects, various sun loungers and outdoor tables, chairs and umbrellas.
There is a roof terrace over the kitchen extension.
There is a carport plus additional parking space for 3 more vehicles. There are beautiful views from all the terraces.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches are about 30 minutes away at Vera or Garrucha. The resort of Mojacar is about 40 minutes. The fabulous unspoilt beaches and rocky coves of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park are a less than an hour (and a lovely drive through the mountains).

Golf
There are several golf courses close to Mojacar.

Skiing
There is skiing available about 2 hours away in the Sierra Nevada near Granada.

Travel
A car is essential for this holiday but are cheap to hire and available at all the airports.
Almeria Airport: Transfer time about 1 hour
Alicante Airport: Transfer time about 2 hours
Murcia Airport: Transfer time about 2 hours
Budget airlines use these airports (Ryanair, Easyjet, EU Jet, Jet2, Monarch, MyTravel Lite, BMI Baby etc.)

Distances
The house is situated half a mile from the nearest bar/restaurant and several others are within a 5-10 minute drive. The resort of Mojacar (about 40 minutes) has a wide range of restaurants and facilities for water sports etc.

Further details
Casa de Jose is ideal for people who wish to experience the peace and quiet of the "real" Spain away from the busy resorts. However, several resorts can be reached in about 30 minutes. It may appeal to people who like walking or bird watching as well as those who simply wish to relax in the pool.
Day trips are possible to Granada (2 hours), Almeria (1 hour), Mini Holywood film set etc.

Booking notes

We require a £100 deposit (which will be cashed) to secure a booking. The remainder of the rental fee (plus an additional £100 damage/key return deposit) needs to be paid 4 weeks before the holiday. The £100 damage deposit is normally refunded after the holiday (see booking conditions)
