In a very quiet street 200 yards from unspoilt beaches. No problem with parking. The house has terraces with spectacular sea views. Barbecue on the terrace. Watch the boats go by while you eat. Thick walls and high ceilings for cool evenings. Shops and restaurants are just 3 minutes walk.

Almeria airport is 30 minutes away. Car hire not essential. There are buses to Almeria.

Distances
Almeria 40 miles. Mojacar 12 miles. Nijar 33km daily bus to Madrid Alicante airport 2 hours.

Further details
Carboneras has all the facilities required for a great holiday. The children can walk to the beach without going near any main roads, teenagers can walk to discos in 5 minutes. Shopping is a 5 minute walk. There is never a vast tourist influx to make daily life a nightmare of sweaty queues.

July this year, my young daughter and I visited Carboneras, a traditional Spanish fishing village on the coast of Almeria. Unlike, a statement I read from a recognised ‘travel bible’, Carboneras is far from being industrial. What I found was a charming, eclectic close community of people who took pride in their village and welcomed you as one of them in their many soirees. The place we chose to stay in was a townhouse in the heart of the village and a short walk to a beautiful unspoilt beach, was far beyond my expectations.
The owner of the property, had put a lot of attention to detail in keeping with the traditional ‘Moorish’ theme of the area, everywhere you looked were interesting features. Being one of three of the owner’s properties, this one would suit someone into eclectic interiors. My favourite was the centre ‘atrium’ of the building and the upstairs bathroom. The owner was very helpful with his knowledge on places and so had a great time and would highly recommend this.
