The Casita is situated in 3 acres of terraced olive groves and fruit trees with craggy rock formations. Wild flowers are abundant in spring and walks through the land reveal spectacular views with many quiet spaces. The Casita is a traditional Spanish cottage which has been beautifully restored, guests have been delighted with the accommodation and we have regular re-bookers. The roof terrace is popular for private sun bathing and extensive views. The sunsets over the western mountain views are unforgetable. The property is centrally located for sightseeing the coastal resorts, famous cities, or just lazing the days away. Axarquia's climate is sub-tropical and enjoys 300 sunny days a year, even in the cooler winter months there are often clear blue skies.

Changeover day
Bookings are flexibility depending, of course, on reservations around the date you require. Naturally most bookings are weekend to weekend. Departure is normally required by 11.00hrs on the departing day and arrivals from 16:00hrs onwards.

Bedrooms: There is a comfortable double bed, writing area with book collection, ample cupboard and drawer space. The bedroom has beautiful mountain views through the main window.
Bathrooms: En suite with large shower/wet area, wc, hand basin.
Kitchen: Cooker, fridge/freezer, iron, washing machine.
Living Rooms: The facilities include, satellite TV with many free to view channels, reading books and games. Access to the internet can be arranged with the owners.
Other: There are two terraces, the dining terrace and the roof terrace both with spectaular mountain views. The roof terrace is a suntrap during the day and at night the perfect place to star gaze.

Towels provided and beds are changed weekly. A welcome pack is provided including locally grown organic produce, when available.

Notes on accommodation
The Casita is equipped for all year letting, has a woodburner and calor gas heater. All gas and electric usage is included in the price. The tap water is of a high quality and drinkable.

Accessibility
The property and land is terraced and undulating with a private half kilometre track up to the nearest road.

Outside
The pool is approximately 8 meters by 5 meters and 1.5 meters depth and the pool is checked and cleaned by the owners each day. The pool surround has loungers and is shaded by sun shades and surrounding olive trees. The Casita has table, chairs, barbecue and deck chairs on the front terrace. The roof terrace is ideal for sunbathing and star gazing. Both terraces have spectacular mountain views.

Coast/Beach
Torre del Mar is the nearest beach resort, 30 minutes from the property by car with numerous beach restaurants, including vegetarian in the actual town. There is a popular Thursday street market to browse and a nearby Aquapark to cool off in! The more famous resort of Nerja is another ten minutes drive to it's many coves, evocative little back streets and wide variety of restaurants. The caves at Nerja are particular interesting.

Golf
There is a golf course 30 minutes away on the coast.

Skiing
The city of Granada and the Sierra Nevada ski resort is a 2 hour drive where it is possible ski in the winter and visit the pleasant green slopes during Spring and Summer.

Guests can enquire from the owners if any special interest facilities are available to compliment their stay at El Encinar

Travel
The property is an easy one hour drive from Malaga airport. Car hire is essential to explore the area. To walk into the nearest village, Periana, takes 20 mins. The coast is a 30 minute drive away - Nerja 45 minutes.

Distances
The nearby pueblos of Zafarraya, Alcaucin and Alfarnate are full of interest with bars and restaurants. Granada and the magnificent Alhambra is 2 hours away by car. Less distance is El Torcal with its Jurassic rock formations and the historic town of Antequerra, famous for prehistoric sites and flamingo lake. Cordoba is 2 hours away by car, it's cathedral and old quarter make a fascinating visit. The owners have information about the area and maps of towns etc.

Further details
Periana has two banks with cash point machines, a well stocked supermarket, bars and small restaurants. Within a 20 minute drive radius are well known Axaquia National Parks with marked walking and cycling routes with beautiful views over Lake Vinuela down to the sea. For most of the year the pueblos in the area have fiestas and celebrations of local produce, horse events, which all give a feel of the real Spain.

Booking notes
A deposit is required and unfortunately cannot be refunded if the booking is cancelled 6 weeks prior to the letting date, when full payment is then due. Please contact he owners via the internet to book or to obtain more information on the property. The owners wish to ensure that you have enough information to ensure no disappointment is felt when you arrive at El Encinar, and you enjoy your stay. A provisional booking can be held for one week while flights arrangements are made.
