"Las Alturas" is a charming three bedroom villa with a heated pool in a quiet, secluded position at the end of a cul-de-sac. Stunning views to the Mediterranean, the medieval castle and the typically Spanish village of Salobrena, and the Sierra Nevada mountains. There is secure, off-road parking for two cars, and the garden, pool area and terraces are totally secluded and protected from the prevailing south-westerly winds so the villa is perfect for a warm getaway from the Northern European winter. The master bedroom is air-conditioned, and all other rooms have ceiling fans. The fully equipped kitchen, completely refitted in April 2009, has Silestone worktops, dishwasher, washing machine, electric self cleaning oven, induction hob, microwave, filtered drinking water, and all the necessary utensils, crockery, pots and pans etc. The large lounge/diner has British Sky satellite TV, CD/ DVD player, and a wonderful wood-burning fire. WiFi Broadband internet access is supplied.

Notes on prices
Discounts are available for Winter rents in excess of four weeks. Prices are for a maximum of 6 people. A security deposit of £300 must be paid for each booking and will be held against any loss or damage caused to the property or its contents. The deposit will be returned within 10 days of your returning the keys to the managing agents and is subject to a satisfactory report from the managing agents.
Changeover day
Saturday changeover is preferred.

Notes on accommodation
There is air-conditioning in the master bedroom, and ceiling fans in all the other rooms. There is a very efficient wood-burning fire in the lounge which will heat the entire villa. For Winter lets (October to April) we provide thermostatically controlled electric radiators and timer switches for all bedrooms and living rooms, and during this period only, electricity consumed will be charged at cost. For all other lets, electricity costs are included in the rental price. Logs are supplied free of charge throughout the Winter for use in the fire in the Lounge/Dining room.
Non-smokers only please. No pets.
Accessibility
There are a few steps down to the villa from the road, and a few more from the breakfast terrace to the lower terrace and pool area. The villa will not be suitable for those confined to a wheelchair, but should be manageable for most people with limited mobility. If in doubt, please ask for a more detailed description of the layout of the villa.
Outside
Private heated pool, completely surrounded by lawn. Sunny and shaded terraces. Complete patio set of table and chairs, four sun loungers and two sun-chairs. Ample off-street secure parking for two to three cars. For all lets, the swimming pool has an oil-fired heating system with an energy-efficient heat pump and thermal cover. The oil used will be charged at cost, and will be deducted from your security deposit before it is returned to you.
Coast/Beach
The beaches of Salobrena are about 10 minutes drive away from the villa.
Golf
Motril golf course is about 5 kilometres away.
Skiing
Just over one hour from the ski area of Sol y Nieve in the Sierra Nevada, home of the 1996 FIS World Championships.
Travel
The most popular airport is Malaga, about 75 kilometres to the West of Salobrena. Granada airport, but there are now no direct flights from the UK. Almeria airport is a little further away to the East of Salobrena. Car hire is essential to enjoy the best of the area.
Distances
The old village of Salobrena is about a 7 minute drive from the villa, and a visit to the Moorish castle in Salobrena is not to be missed.
Almuñecar is about 15 minute drive, with many shops, restaurants, and a weekly market.
Motril is about a 10 minute drive, with an excellent supermarket, and many other shops. Well worth a visit.
Granada is about an hour away by car, and is the home of Spain's most popular tourist attraction, the Alhambra, unmissable.
Further details
An excellent area for all outdoor activities, especially swimming, walking, horse-riding, mountain-biking and skiing (in season). The large community swimming pool, childrens' pool, playground, tennis court and football pitch are a short drive away and free of charge to our guests. There is a large water park a few minutes drive away in Almunecar.
Booking notes
A deposit of 25% of the total rental is required to secure the property. The balance to be fully paid eight weeks before departure together with a £300 security deposit, returned within 10 days after a satisfactory report from the managing agent.
Guest comments
We had such a wonderful week at the villa. The highlights for us included the immaculate condition of the villa which really made it feel comfortable and relaxing, the fantastic bar-be-que, the great selection of DVDs for the children when they woke up a little too early and brilliantly equipped kitchen. As always, the Monte did not fail in providing a stunning and tranquil place to be, with the garden and terrace adding to the ambience of it all. To conclude, thank you for what turned out to be our best holiday in years...and Las Alturas played an important role in that.
We had a fabulous time and we're all really missing the villa, the view, the pool and the weather....all of which were fantastic!We all thought your villa was absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't fault a thing. We asked the children what their highlight was and they both said playing in the pool and watching the DVDs.
