PRINCIPE SANTA ANA
There are a huge number of things to do in Madrid, but it is often the famous Madrid shopping streets that lure people into renting Madrid accommodation. The fashion boutiques and local craft shops which adorn the central business district mean that shopping holidays in Madrid are never far from the top of the list for shopping destinations. The huge range of styles and cuisine of Madrid restaurants also helps to keep energy levels high, and fantastic cooking courses lasting between a single session and a whole week can easily be arranged. The medieval centre of Madrid hides many fantastic monuments. Those taking a Madrid weekend break are best staying in accommodation close to the historic centre, as there is so much here that you can fit a huge amount into just a short Madrid city break. The ‘big three’ museums in Madrid, the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia, hold famous collections of art, and tourism in Madrid is often centred around the Puerta del Sol right in the city centre.

"Excellent location; Comfortable apartment"
My husband and I have rented apartments in various countries with mixed experiences. We found this apartment to be everything it claimed to be and more. The location is ideal. It is a short walk to the Paseo del Prado where all the museums are located and also to the Plaza Mayor, Puerto del Sol, and the historical part of town. There are many restaurants, tapas bars and jazz clubs in the neighborhood. It is close to the metro and stores. The apartment itself is very comfortable, well-equipped, tastefully furnished with lots of light . We were in the middle of our trip to Spain so were very happy to find a washer/dryer so we could have clean clothes. Both the owner, Carmen, and Sol who met us at the apartment were very helpful. Sol even lent us a mobile phone for our stay. I would highly recommend this apartment and hope that we will be able to return there on our next visit to Madrid.

"FABULOUS, EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS."
Staying here is a great way to get to know Madrid. Less than 10 minutes to the museums, the park, nice restaurants, very close to all the action but not in the middle of it. Staying here is a great way to feel like a real Madrileño. You do not need a metro pass if you stay here because everything is in walking distance. The place was even nicer than the pictures. The apartment was spacious, nicely furnished, and even had a washing/drying machine. It is a very well maintained, clean flat and modern amenities.

"Wonderful quiet apartment in the heart of Madrid"
We loved this apartment. It looked just like the pictures, was really well maintained and had everything we needed. We used the kitchen a lot and it was fully equipped and had everything we needed including spices, sauces, tea, coffee, laundry and dish soap which was really such a nice touch. The beds were big and super comfy. Note that one side is quite low due to the attic beams so that person will be walking carefully past the beds. The air conditioner worked great when we needed it but we also opened the skylights at night and it was so quiet even though we were very centrally located. Great convenience store across the street and 1/2 block from Santa Ana square which has lots of cafes. Very safe area to walk around at night. Building was very secure and people we met in the building were very pleasant. The building has an elevator (which we were happy for as this apartment is on the 5th floor) but there is a set of stairs to the elevator and then another set to the apartment. Walking distance to Puerto del Sol for the metro and El Corte Ingles department store which has a huge supermarket in the basement. Carmen, the owner, was really great. She met us and gave us lots of brochures, maps and information on the area. She walked us through the appliances and how to use everything including when to put out the garbage. The airline lost our baggage and when it was delivered the next day, she brought it up to us, made sure we had extra bedding/comforter when we asked for them and accepted credit card for payment. She did not require the security deposit which was a pleasant surprise. She recommended Villa Rosa for flamenco dancing which we made a reservation to see but didn't especially care for the performance. We stayed a week, saw lots of wonderful things in Madrid and the weather was great. On the weekends, this area is really busy so it was nice to go out and then come back to our quiet retreat in the city. We would love to return and would highly recommend this apartment to others.

If you're looking to stay in the heart of Madrid, this is a great spot! Located on a quiet street, just steps to Plaza Santa Ana, with great eating options, and a short walk to just about anywhere in the city, we were very happy with the location. Carmen was great at check-in and provided some wonderful restaurant suggestions in the neighborhood. The flat was clean and very comfortable for two people.

My wife and I stayed in the studio apartment at the end of June and were really taken with the studio. As other reviewers have commented it's location is just perfect for visiting the major tourist attractions of Madrid and all were easily reached by foot. The studio was neat and clean and while the weather was quite hot, the aircondioning handled it comfortably. We dined in a couple of nights and found the kitchen and its facilities more than adequate. The studio is several floors above street level and so was nice and quiet of a night even though it is in a fairly active part of the city. We found Sol really easy to deal with in arranging the booking and on meeting with her on our arrival she provided very useful advice on how to structure our visit and where to find a range of tapas bars. Don't miss the one in the old market building, a great place to grab a bite for lunch.
