The villa is a 45 minute drive from Madrid city centre. It has a 700m garden with a circular 5.5m pool in summer and a trampoline for children (or adults up to 100 kilos if they wish). There are buses every half hour to Madrid. Madrid international airport is a 45 minute drive. Miraflores can be used as a base for day trips to Segovia, el Escorial, La Granja, Toledo, Aranjuez or Chinchon. The ski slopes of Navacerrada and Valdesqui are 45 minutes away by car. Salamanca and Avila are about 2 hours away from this holiday house. From the south facing upstairs balcony of the villa there are views of up to 80km to the south and east. To the west and north of the villa is the Guadarama mountain range and the national park of La Pedriza. Broadband Internet throughout house

Notes on accommodation
Included in price is the use of underground parking space in Madrid city centre during holiday periods (Christmas, Easter and summer - beside Metro Goya). Pick up from the airport and transport to and from holiday house can be arranged for up to 7 people at cost of 50 Euros each way.
Outside
Balcony upstairs with views from villa of up to 80 kilometres, barbecue and outside dining area on west side of house, children's swings and play area on east side of house, garage on street level, 7000 square foot garden around villa, parking on street or in garage, 5.5 metre diameter circular swimming pool in summer on lower, easily closed off part of garden. Outdoor table tennis table and 13 foot diametre trampoline in garden.
Skiing
Valdesqui and Navacerrada ski slopes are a 45 minute drive from villa. La Pinilla, a quieter ski resort on the Burgos road is a 50 minute drive.
Travel
The nearest international airport to villa is Madrid, 50km. Car hire is not essential as villa is walking distance to village and bus stop for Madrid but recommended for visiting towns such as Segovia, El Escorial etc.
Further details
The holiday house is located at an altitude of 1200m - hence the amazing views and the pleasant temperatures in summer. Madrileρos is an escape from the summer heat. The city of Madrid can be seen in the distance and at night its lights provide a wonderful spectacle. Leading out of the village is a road which leads to the mountain passes of Canencia at 1500m and Morcuera at 1800m. Depending on the year's snowfall, Morcuera which is 8km from the village, is used as a base for cross-country skiing. The village is one of the prettiest in the province of Madrid, the village centre of Miraflores (at an altitude of 1100m) is a 10 minute stroll downhill from the house - a little more on the way back. The village centre is completely pedestrianised and with its many bars and terrazas is an ideal spot to have your pre-lunch/dinner 'aperitivo' while children play safely within view on the plaza. The following activities can be undertaken locally: swimming, tennis, walking, cycling, horse-riding, skiing, golfing, wind-surfing and mountain biking. Madrid is a 45 minute drive or an hour by bus. Buses run every hour and arrive in Plaza Castilla from where the metro can be taken to the Prado, Reina Sofia art gallery, Thyssen museum, Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, shopping streets of Serrano and Goya and the Retiro (Madrid's version of New York's Central Park). The metro is one of the most efficient in Europe and runs from 6 am to 2 am. Full WIFI broadband internet throughout house.
