Casa Gordon is a large, airy, open-plan villa in the hills above Javea. It benefits from having a panoramic view of the sea and Montgo mountain. There are a couple of restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance but Javea town, the port and Arenal beach are just a 10 minute drive with Granadella beach even closer at just 4km away and the Cabo de la nao Lighthouse only 1km.

Changeover day
Saturday in summer - flexible at other times of the year, please call owners to discuss. Clients arriving can access the villa after 3.00pm. Clients leaving must vacate premises by 11.00am.

Bedrooms: Upper floor: Bedroom sleeps 2/3 with a continental kingsize bed & private shower room (see below) Door leading directly onto roof sun terrace with loungers.
Ground floor: 2 bedrooms sleeping 2/3 each. One has twin beds & other a continental kingsize bed.
Bathrooms: Upper floor: bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin.
Ground floor: large bathroom with 2 washbasins, bath with shower, separate tiled shower, toilet and bidet.
There is a hair drier for guest use in every bedroom.
Kitchen: Large kitchen equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge freezer, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, juicer, copious crockery, cutlery and cooking implements.
There is a patio/drying area outside the back door.
Living Rooms: Sitting room/dining area leading off the kitchen. The former has a panoramic view of the sea & Montgo mountain, satellite TV, DVD player & a stereo system. The dinning area has a large dining table suitable for up to eight people.

Notes on accommodation
So that 8 guests can stay, there are 2 comfortable foam filled seats that easily transform into extra beds for the bedrooms or in the living room - this will, of course, result in some loss of space.

The windows benefit from mosquito screens and all bedrooms have electric fans so you can sleep with the windows open.

Wide Roman steps into the pool makes for a shallow entrance point for little ones - though the 'shallow' end is still deep. The pool is regularly and professionally maintained being cleaned twice a week in high season and a local company manages and maintains the property.

Entrance to the villa is through the covered naya which has ample space for the outside dining table and chairs used for barbecues and all alfresco eating. Alternatively use the patio area around the pool to catch the last rays of the evening sun.

The sun terrace is above the naya.

The Villa benefits from a layout that ensures that it is generally secluded.

Outside
The covered naya is just 4 steps up from the oval 9m x 5m swimming pool, which has Roman steps at one end and is lit for night swimmers. Outside dining table and chairs. A large garden surrounds the whole villa, with and outside tiled shower (for the pool), a barbecue and a patio with loungers. There is a lockable garage which can be used as a car port by being left open permanently during your stay if preferred. A gated drive with a turning area gives secure off road parking.

The villa is surrounded by a 4 ft high fence for added security but it also ensure that little ones cannot "wander off" if all the gates are locked. This gives added peace of mind to parents.

Coast/Beach
Granadella beach is just 4km away.

Arenal Beach 10 minutes drive.

Port 15 minutes drive.

There are a number of smaller coves within 10 minutes drive.

Golf
Club de Golf Javea", Jávea, a golf course with 9 holes situated on the Ctra. Jävea-Benitachell 4,5 km, close to all areas of Jávea, with swimming pool and tennis courts in its grounds.

"Club de Golf La Sella", Jesus Pobre, a beautiful 18-hole course par 72 over 6000m long designed by Jose Maria Olazabal, situated on the Ctra. Jesus Pobre.La Xara, half the way to Denia.

"Club de Golf Ifach", Benissa, urb. San Jaime, a golf course with 9 holes situated on the Ctra Moraira-Calpe 3km.

Further afield (c.30 minutes) new course at Oliva (18-hole, designed by Seve Ballesteros) and just south of Valencia, the famous 18-hole championship links course - at El Saler.

Distances
Javea old town is about 5 miles and the Thursday market and old streets are a delight

Further details
Javea's lighthouse is the most Easterly point on mainland Spain. There is the old town of narrow streets, churches and white washed houses, the port area and the beaches. There is a weekly outdoor market where you can shop for anything from cheese to chorizo, from lace to leatherwork.

Locally there is golf, tennis, go-karting, jet ski, windsurfing and other water sports. The climate is rated the best by the World Health Organisation.

Evenings are lively along the promenade at Arenal Beach where there are a score of bars and restaurants and dozens of craft stalls as well as exclusive boutiques.

The beach has lifeguards and showers as well as play areas for various age groups.

The port is a working one. Stroll along and watch the days catch being brought in before dinner.

There are worthwhile day trips to Valencia (an hour away), to Guadel'est or even take a ferry to Ibiza.

Closer to Javea visit Gata for cane and ceramics. Near Benidorm there are a number of attractions including the Terra Mitica theme park which is an excellent day for the young or young at heart, the Mundomar marine and exotic animal park or Aqualandia water park for the energetic.

Janet and I are a mature couple who are retired and use the villa when not rented for our own enjoyment. We try to give a professional service but do not view this as a business. We want everyone to enjoy renting the villa and will give as much information as we can to ensure that - so please feel free to give us a call to chat over your plans and ensure that Casa Gordon is exactly what you want.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We loved staying in Javea many years ago and when looking for somewhere to buy we returned and found the general approach unchanged. There are no large hotels and no package tours so it retains the family holiday feel with an enjoyable night life which is not rowdy but lively.

Unique benefits of the property
It is really light and airy unlike many older villas. The views are really spectacular, but the villa location means that there are two restaurants that are within walking distance and a good supermarket that is only two minutes drive. The design means that while not isolated it is private and not overlooked.
