The villa is situated, approximately midway between Valencia and Alicante on the Costa Blanca (about 1 hour drive from either airport). It is private, well equipped and situated in a quiet location with mountain views. It is in an ideal holiday location only 10 minutes drive from Blue Flag standard beaches, 25 minutes from Denia and Oliva and 5 minutes from the medieval town of Pego with its squares, restaurants and tiny streets. A little further afield the Montgó mountain and National Park and the scenic valley of Jalon can be reached offering good walking, riding and exploring activities. There are well known water parks just 45 minutes away and local attractions nearby. Good bars/restaurants are plentiful in the villages around and recommendations are available in the villa Information Pack. The villa can sleep 4 people. It has 2 double bedrooms (master bedroom en-suite), main bathroom, kitchen, dining and living room.

Approximately 1 hour by car from either Alicante or Valencia Airport. Budget and scheduled airlines available from many European airports. Car hire (essential) budget around £20/€25 per day. Booking assistance/recommendation available if required.

Distances
Local village (Rafol de Almunia) is just a few minutes drive past orange groves. Local town (Pego) with supermarkets/restaurants etc is also only a few minutes drive. Denia, Oliva and miles of golden sand are within 15/25 minutes by car.

Further details
Activities available locally include horse riding, quad bikes, windsurfing, kite boarding, boat hire, sailing and sightseeing boat trips. There are hiking trails and donkey riding, cycling and fishing opportunities. The theme parks of Benidorm (Aqualandia, Mundomar, Terra Mítica) are about 45 minutes by car. There are caves to explore at Benidoleig and Ebo Valley. If you would like assistance to arrange any activity in advance, please let us know. There are a number of local festivals throughout the year, such as Fallas in Gandia in March and Moors and Christians in different towns throughout August. Rafol de Almunia has its own week long festival in the middle of August.

Deposit of £100/150 euros to secure booking. Balance and a damage deposit (£100/150 euros) due 6 weeks before letting date. Damage deposit returnable after letting.

About the owner
My name is Diane and I live in the UK with my husband Ray and our two grown up daughters. We both work in demanding professional jobs so it is nice to have somewhere to get away to and we spend almost all of our holiday time in Spain at Villa Rafol. We have been fortunate to have made many friends and contacts in our area of Spain and we find that there is always something new to discover on every trip we make.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We selected this location in Spain for its variety, its stunning scenery and its wonderful mixture of both modern and historic interests; there really is something to suit everyone in this area - as we say “relax or explore”. This is our home in Spain where we come ourselves and which we are pleased to offer to our guests to enjoy as if it were their own home for their stay.

Unique benefits of the property
Villa Rafol itself is set in a quiet elevated location with superb views of the local mountains. The garden is mature and secluded, offering terracing with an irrigated lawn, fruiting citrus trees, palm and olive trees – that’s for the “relax” part. Access to all surrounding areas of interest and attractions is easy via a good local and regional road system offering a pleasant driving experience – that’s for the “explore” part. The list of modern attractions nearby is endless whilst the area is also very popular for cycling, walking, golfing, riding to name but a few, and even offers climbing for those with some experience. But for those less energetic, one can simply watch the weekend cycle clubs on the mountain road below running their trials, all directly from the pool terrace!
