This well located 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa with private pool (8m x 4m) is 2.5 kilometres from the beautiful beaches of La Barrosa and Sancti Petri. Sancti Petri also offers sailing, windsurfing canoeing and fish restauurants. The villa has a lounge/diner, a separate dining room and a downstairs toilet and shower. Outside there are 2 covered areas, pergola and 2 awnings for additional shade, also a large tiled patio and good sized garden. There are local shops, tapas bars and a bakery within walking distance. 2 supermarkets are 2 minutes by car. There is a bus stop at the end of the road with regular buses for the town and beach. Also at the end of the road are large open tidal flatlands which are home to numerous migratory wading birds including flamingoes and avocets.

Minimum bookings of 2 weeks are preferred for July/August

Changeover day
During peak periods changeover day is Saturday although we will try to be flexible. Arrival time generally 3.00pm and departure time is 10.30am. We will try to fit in with your requirements. Luggage may be left at the villa on day of departure.

Accommodation

 

Notes on accommodation
Electric oil heaters and electric blankets provided for the winter months. Wood burning fire in the lounge. The house is suitable for children as the garden is fully enclosed and secure, although please note that the pool is not fenced. Fans and mosquito nets are provided.
This is a non-smoking house.

Amenities/Facilities provided

 

Outside
The south facing walled garden is mainly laid to lawn but has various shrubs, trees and climbing plants. There is a private swimming pool (8m x 4m which is not fenced) with underwater lighting. Leading from the kitchen is a covered porch, approx 3m x 3m with a cane 3 piece suite and coffee table. Extending from the porch is an awning. On the patio beneath a shady pergola is a larger table with benches for 6. There are also garden chairs, loungers, parasols, awnings and a gas BBQ. There is a large covered area to the front of the house with a further table and seating. There is off-street parking for 2 cars with access through a remotely controlled gate. There is an additional security gate controlled by intercom to the house.

Coast/Beach
The villa is 2.5km from the glorious blue flag 6km child friendly beach of La Barrosa which in season has lifeguards, showers and a 1km promenade lined with bars and cafes. The remainder of the beach has been left in its natural state complete with its backing of dunes and pine trees and for 10 months of the year is frequently deserted. At the northern end of the beach there is a marina which provides a variety of water sports.

Golf
There is a good selection of golf courses within 60 mins drive, the closest being the 36 hole Novo Sancti Petri course (10 mins drive), designed by Seve Ballesteros, and Campano (15 mins) 9 holes. Golf packages can be purchased giving you the opportunity to play these and other courses. There are also 3 driving ranges.

Travel
The nearest airport is Jerez which is approx 40 mins drive. Ryanair flights are available on a daily basis to Jerez from Stansted. You can also fly to Seville (BA, Ryanair, Iberia, Clickair) and Gibraltar (Monarch, BA,Easyjet) which are both 90 mins away. Flights to Malaga are also an option. Car hire is recommended, we use carjet.com. Ryanair also flies from Liverpool to Seville.

Distances
Cadiz, 25 minutes drive - beautiful old city and magnificent beach. Jerez, 40 minutes - bodegas, world famous Equestrian School. Seville, 90 minutes - cathedral, alcazar, river, park. Arcos, Vejer, Medina Sidonia and other white villages within driving distance. Gibraltar 90 mins, Tarifa 60 mins. Aquapark, Puerto Santa Maria 20 mins.

Further details
There is a bakery, selection of bars and small shops all within an easy 5 minute walk. 2 well-stocked supermarkets are only slightly further. Sea food and tapas are a speciality of the region and there are a number of restaurants within walking distance and a further selection by the beach.

Chiclana is a pleasant typical small Spanish town with its own fish, meat, fruit and vegetable market.

At Novo Sancti Petri 10 minutes away, there is a modern shopping centre with boutiques, bars, restaurants and banks, private hospital/clinic. Horse riding and tennis are available nearby.

Old Sancti Petri, 5 minutes away, has its own marina and beautiful beach. From here you can wind surf, kite surf, go fishing or sailing.
