Accessibility
The property itself has good wheelchair access, but the communal grounds are hilly and have many steps.
Outside
The grounds of Villa Gadea cover a large area. They are landscaped with verdant, sub-tropical planting of palms, hibiscus, birds-of-paradise and jasmine leading down to a pebbled beach with crystal clear water. A ‘walkie-talkie’ is provided so that guests can keep in touch, whether at the beach or visiting elsewhere in the grounds. The apartment overlooks a shared pool with its own children’s pool, but its elevation allows guests to relax in privacy and comfort in their own garden whilst still being able to keep an eye on the children in the pool. There is easy seating with 2 hardwood steamer chairs and 2 comfortable loungers to soak up the sun, and an outside dining table seating up to eight under a large parasol. The spacious terrace flows around to an open air Jacuzzi Spa with shower. On the covered terrace are banana leaf easy chairs, occasional tables, table lamps and terracotta wall lighting. Weber ‘Q’ gas BBQ for easy outdoor dining.
Coast/Beach
The bay of Altea stretches for 6km. Villa Gadea has panoramic views of the bay. The area boasts many ‘blue flag’ beaches outstanding for their clear water:
Playa de l’Olla – below Villa Gadea, (200 yds from the apartment) a popular very clean pebble beach with abundant marine life and during the summer, buzzy beach bars serving delicious fresh seafood.
Calpe, 10 mins away – wide, golden sandy beaches each side of the craggy and distinctive Penon de Ifach.
Golf
Nearby, in Altea la Vieja is the Club de Golf Cayo, a beautiful, well kept, 9 hole course between the sea and the Sierra de Bernia mountain range. Please call owner for contact details.

Further details
Altea has many excellent boutiques and food shops, restaurants, banks and a number of supermarkets. It has an excellent indoor air-conditioned market with a wide choice of salads, fruits, vegetables, fresh and cured meats and great looking fish. The stall holders are really pleasant and helpful. Open 7.30 till 2.30 Mon to Sat. On the road to Calpe (1.5kms) is Mas y Mas, a good, medium sized supermarket that attends to its international customer base and sells lovely fresh bread baked on the premises.
In Calpe there are a number of very large supermarkets.
Booking notes
A deposit of 30% is required on booking. The remaining balance, plus £250 refundable security deposit, is required 8 weeks prior to date of arrival. The security deposit will be returned to you within 10 days of departure, less any deductions for breakages or losses. Contribution to final clean, linen & towels is charged at £80. Supplements: WiFi, extra guests, cot, baby monitor, highchair. Please ask.
