Notes on prices
Prices are for the apartment per week for up to 6 people. Each extra person will be charged £50 per week up to the maximum occupancy of 10. There is a cleaning /laundry/air conditioning charge of £75 per week, pro-rata for longer stays. For rentals over 7 days there is a mid-stay clean and change of towels and bedlinen. Our changeover day is flexible as long as it fits in with existing bookings.

Changeover day
We are flexible on changeover day - however, in the summer months, most flights come into Almeria on Thursdays.

Accommodation

 

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is large and spacious providing a luxurious environment for a holiday. Suitable for couples, families and groups of friends the versatile accommodation suits every need. We have used the large, stunning locally woven, brightly coloured rugs as wall decorations in each room. Bedroom 3, on the lower floor, is a large room and opens directly onto the huge terrace through wall to wall sliding glass doors, offering views to the sea and lagoon - even from the beds! Air Conditioning/ Heating is installed, for added comfort in the hot summer months and cool winter evenings. LagunaSol is a private home offered to share with guests and is equipped and furnished with contemporary luxury and quality in mind. The leather sofas are luxurious and extremely comfortable - as are the beds and matresses. We are keen cooks ourselves and have equipped the kitchen to a high standard with good quality cooking equipment and utensils. Smoking is only permitted on the terrace.

Outside
The luxury complex of Sol De Alboran has private lawned landscaped gardens, full of palm trees and exotic plants. The huge swimming pool (50 metres x 25 metres) has a separate paddling pool. 3 lifeguards are on duty at all times. There are 4 floodlit mini tennis courts and changing rooms/WCs. Private gates open direct to the promenade, beside the beach. We have two large terraces, the main one has two sets of wooden dining furniture, two tables, two benches and 4 armchairs. Two sunbeds with removable padded cushions. The Bedroom terrace has one set of wooden furniture (table, bench and 2 armchairs).

Coast/Beach
The Sol de Alboran complex is located right beside the beach (one minute's walk from the apartment) separated only by the promenade (illuminated at night) which runs into the Marina. The beach is a natural wide flat beach and is almost empty all year round. There are beach bars nearby. In Almerimar itself there are number of smaller beaches, some with beach beds, pedalos, bars and cafes. Most of the beaches are blue flag, with guards on duty in summer months and ample fresh water showers/WCs.

Golf
We are experienced golfers ourselves and consider oursleves extremely well off for golf in this area of Andalucia. Almerimar Golf Course, the oldest in the area (25 years), was designed by Gary Player. Its 18 holes are fun and challenging. It's 1 kilometer from LagunaSol and has good club house/pro's shop facilities. A further 9 holes opens during 2005. Within 20 minutes drive are two other courses. La Envia, a stunning course, built in a mountain basin surrounded by sophisticated houses and a new 5 star hotel. Playa Serena at Roquets de Mar is a good quality holiday golf course. About an hour's drive away - straight along the excellent fast motorway - are 3 further excellent courses - Valle del Este, Desert Springs and Mojacar Marina - all offering top quality golf.

Skiing
Almerimar is only 1.5 hour's drive from the famous Sierra Nevada ski resort - straight along fast, uncrowded motorways. The ski-ing complex is large with a wide variety of excellent ski runs, from challenging blacks to simpler nursery slopes. There are a large number of cable cars and tow bars, with excellent catering in the ski village and at the top of the mountain. It's perfectly feasible to spend a morning ski-ing and the afternoon sunbathing on the beach!

Travel
CHEAP daily flights with Easyjet and Ryanair from STANSTED and GATWICK to ALMERIA - the local airport, only 30-40 minutes drive along the fast uncrowded motorway. Many other cheap charters flights from Gatwick, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and other UK airports. We strongly recommend hiring a car to get the best out of the area. Taxis and buses are available. Malaga airport is only 2 hours drive away and Murcia and Alicante under 3 hours.

Distances
The sophisticated Marina of Almerimar is our nearest town and is about 10 minutes drive/45 minutes walk (along the promenade, well floodlit at night). The marina holds 1000 berths and is a lively area in the summer months and peacefully tranquil during the winter. Roquets de Mar is 20 minutes drive and is a lively holiday resort. Almeria, the sophisticated capital city of the region, is a wonderful sea port, boasting ancient alcazabar, luxury shops and wonderful tapas bars/restaurants.

Further details
The Costa de Almeria is Spain's hottest driest region - making this the perfect year round destination for holidays. The buzzing, growing Marina town of Almerimar boasts excellent golf, fishing, wind and para surfing, horse riding (on beach and through natural park), wild life/ bird watching, walking, local history. painting and photography. We have a wonderful supermarket and many local shops, banks, chemists, doctors and even dentists! The area's huge brand new hospital is just outside Almerimar and there's a large shopping/cinema/restaurant complex opposite. Nearby is a water sports centre, mini Hollywood (home of the spaghetti westerns) and the most spectacular mountain scenery,
