Cortijo Casa Los Llanos is a spacious, modern, traditionally styled, secluded Spanish Cortijo situated in Tijola, 1.5km from Orgiva. The house is equipped to a very good standard throughout and sleeps up to 9 persons. It is situated within a fully enclosed garden with olive, almond, pomegranate, fig and orange trees. The garden is enclosed and offers privacy with a private pool. The property is set in an outstanding location where you can combine the reality of secluded country life (with spectacular views of the mountains) and the benefits of a short journey into Orgiva. It has its own large swimming pool, 4 large bedrooms, a fully equipped new kitchen and a lounge with open wood fireplace. The cortijo has Sky satellite TV and a computer with Internet/Email access (additional cost). There is a large shaded patio/terrace alongside the house, with BBQ and patio furniture. Both the house and garden are safe for young children but also ideal for adults. DVD player also with good DVD's.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Prices include water, gas and electricity. All bedlinen and towels (except beach/pool towels) are included and changed weekly. Use of telephone/internet and firewood will incur additional charges.
Changeover day
Saturday in high season is the changeover day with arrivals after 4.00pm and departures by 10.00am. Changeover day negotiable in the low season up to the 3rd of June.

Notes on accommodation
Portable fans available for all bedrooms and living room. Also outside ceiling fan for the terrace. The owners have 8 year old twins so the cortijo is ideal for small childen and is all on one level. We provide DVDs, toys and books for young children. Also Sky freeview TV when its too hot for the kids for the pool.Also installed 1000 litre water tank in case of water shortages in Summer and new fountain to be enjoyed by the terrace.
Outside
Private tiled swimming pool, maintained by ioniser, thereby minimising the use of chemicals. Fully enclosed garden. Private secure parking. Shaded patio terrace, patio furniture and BBQ. Pool area contains sunloungers and outside Poolside shower. The pool has underwater lighting and is set in a garden with fruit trees including olives, almond, pomegranate, fig and orange. The house is fully surrounded by a fence and shaded by grape vines.
Coast/Beach
35 minutes from the Mediterranean with Salobrena beaches, 40 minutes from Granada.
Golf
There are courses at Granada (1hr) and Motril (30 minutes). There are numerous other courses on the coast towards Nerja.
Skiing
Sol y Nieve Sierra Nevada Ski resort is 1 hour 30 minutes. Ski in the morning and swim in the Med in the afternoon.
Travel
Malaga Airport is approximately 2 hours drive away. Granada airport is 1hr 15 mins, Ryanair now fly here from the UK, Stansted and Liverpool, Monarch from Gatwick. Car hire is recommended. Almeria airport is 120km (150km Malaga) and this airport is becoming popular with no frills airlines from Gatwick and Stansted.
Distances
20 mins walk or 5 mins drive to Orgiva main market town of Las Alpujarras. Granada and Alhambra Palaces, Sierra Nevada ski slopes and national park 45 mins drive. Unspoilt mountain villages Bubion, Capileira and Pampaneira 30 mins.
Further details
Orgiva is a small market town population 5,000 with a selection of good restaurants and tapas bars, a pizzeria and interesting people to watch, read driving over Lemons! There are many pavement tapas cafes which are filled with a variety of interesting mix of tourists and locals. There is a lively weekly market where many people descend on the town from the surrounding villages to buy and sell anything from local vegetables to hippie art. This is one of the few remaining areas of Spain where you can get free tapas with every drink.
Within the town there are a few small supermarkets, one with a good selection of British foods, chemists, banks and health food shops cater for most needs. Larger choices of hypermarkets/shops are available in the nearby coastal resort of Motril, 30 minutes. Orgiva also contains a very good language school.
In the centre of Orgiva there is a Beautiful Baroque 16th century parish church.
Orgiva is a great centre from which to explore the higher Alpujarras Sierra Nevada country park and nearby famous white villages of Panpaneira, Boubion & Capileira which are three of the prettiest villages located next to each other in the high Las Alpujarras. These three towns serve as an excellent base for participating in activities in the region. Las Alpujarras is perfect for hiking, horse trekking, mountain biking, climbing, skiing and many more activities.
Booking notes
A 20% deposit is required on booking with balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival. Any breakages in the Cortijo will be replaced with similar please, or leave our house manager with euros to cover the cost. Unlike other similar properties around Orgiva we require no big breakage deposit. Short stays will be considered in low season, please let us know your requirements.
