Casa Rif is a large village house at the front of the village of Canar, offering 3 self contained, well-equipped apartments. All have south-facing balconies. There is a large roof terrace (60m2) with a heated jacuzzi/spa, BBQ, quality dining furniture and sunloungers. Canar is uniquely situated in the High Alpujarras - nearest of the white villages to Orgiva, with all its amenities only 10 minutes’ drive away, yet also, at an altitude of 1100 metres, the village boasts open views that are truly unrivalled in the region to which no words or pictures could ever do justice. On a clear day, the Rif Mountains of Morocco can be seen from the house. Canar is totally unspoiled, with the famous GR7 walking route passing through the village, making it accessible to constantly changing scenery. Whether you're interested in walking, cycling, bird watching, horse riding, exploring further afield or just relaxing in a totally tranquil environment, you can do as much or as little as you want.

El Nogal was completed less than a year ago, and is furnished to the same standard as La Estrella and El Sueno.

Bedrooms have chests of drawers and fans. Bedroom 1 has a wardrobe, while bedroom 2 has a separate closet.

Kitchen/Dining/Living Room - including gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. Kitchen opens onto living room with black granite 'bar' with bar stools. Living room has a new 2m x 2m French window which opens onto south-facing balcony with views over Orgiva and across to Sierra Lugar.

Notes on accommodation
All apartments have heating for the winter. This is provided by either gas or oil-filled electric heaters. Additionally, La Estrella has a wood-burning stove, fuel for which may be purchased locally. All apartments have satellite TV, DVD/CD player with a selection of DVDs available. Also, an extra futon can be provided to any apartment if required. We also provide guests with free use of mountain bikes. Children are very welcome.

Outside
Delightful, large roof terrace with jacuzzi/spa, shower, BBQ and eucalyptus wood dining furniture and sun-loungers. Shade is provided by a charming gazebo with a variety of plants and flowers. The views from here are utterly jaw-dropping. NB Access to the roof is from La Estrella. Guests staying in El Sueno or El Nogal may use the roof terrace at any time, except on days when La Estrella is occupied.

Coast/Beach
The Costa Tropical is less developed than neighbouring Costa del Sol, and its main resorts are Salobrena and Almunecar, both around 40 minutes away by car. We will happily advise on the many secluded coves that are scattered all along this dramatic stetch of coast line.

Golf
The nearest golf course 40 minutes by car on the coast in Salobrena.

Skiing
The resort of Pradollano (Solynieve) in the Sierra Nevada is 1 hour 15 minutes away by car. Skiing generally available November to early May - you really can ski in the morning and sunbathe in the afternoon!

Travel
Malaga and Almeria airports are both 2 hours away by car. Granada airport is 50 minutes. Car hire is strongly recommended to get the best from your holiday in Las Alpujarras, and is very easy to book. We will happily advise.

Las Alpujarras present a truly unique holiday destination - steeped in history and tradition with a wealth of activities within easy reach, not to mention the extraordinary abundance of wildlife that calls it home. All this combined with the warm climate everyone associates with southern Spain.
In addition to all the amenities in Orgiva, Canar itself has a bank, grocers, pharmacy and 3 bars serving tapas and meals. There is a swimming pool in Orgiva available for a small charge.
We also provide free use of mountain bikes, and picnic hampers can be prepared for a small charge. We fully appreciate that for most people, holidays are the most important times of the year. We therefore will do our utmost to accommodate any particular needs or requirements you may have in order to have a truly memorable holiday.

Booking notes
A 20% deposit is payable at the time of booking, with the balance payable upon arrival. The deposit will be refunded upon cancellation if the accommodation is re-let.
