The apartment lies in the hilly region to the rear of Roses town and enjoys magnificent views. There is a covered open terrace to the rear ideal for BBQ's or for lounging in the shade. The apartment has a large double bedroom, a twin room with 2 single beds, a double sofa bed in the very large living room, a compact but very functional kitchen, light and spacious lounge, a large glazed veranda with breathtaking views of the Bay of Roses. Although only a 15 minute walk in to the town, a car is recommended for all but the fittest guests as the return walk is a challenge!

Changeover day
Tuesday and Sunday are our Changeover Days (negotiable out of peak season). Arrival after 4pm. Departure by 10am.

| Living Rooms: | The living area contains a double sofabed, an additional large sofa and matching pair of armchairs, coffee tables, dining room table & chairs, TV and DVD player. French windows lead out onto a glazed veranda with panoramic views of the town and bay below. |

Pets are not allowed.
Accessibility
Although the living accommodation is on one level, access to the property is stepped and therefore not suitable for wheelchair users. The apartment is situated on a hill so a car is recommended for all but the very fit.
Outside
The covered Terrace also has an all weather picnic table and 6 chairs.
There is a grill for barbecues on the terrace.
Coast/Beach
5 minutes drive to nearest beach. The Bay of Roses seen from the apartment is one long stretch of beautiful sandy beaches from Roses to L'Escala. Almadrava beach is the pick of the sheltered sandy family beaches, found about 20 minutes drive through Roses. A short drive around the Cap de Creus will bring you to numerous beautiful coves with crystal clear waters that are quiet even in August. All main beaches in Roses have lifeguards, boat hire and full facilities.
Golf
The nearest golf course is at Perelada (18 holes, par 71, 5990m) which is 10 miles or 20 mins drive. Other major courses include: Torremirona, 20 miles or 40 mins; Playa de Pals, PGA Golf de Catalunya, Emporda, all within 1 hour approx.
Skiing
Usually possible from December to March. Several resorts to choose from in Spain or France within about 2 hours drive, making it a reasonable day trip.
Spain: La Molina, Masella, Nuria, Vallter 2000. France: Font Romeu, Pyrenees 2000, Les Angles. Andorra is about 4 hours drive.
Special interest holidays
Cap de Creus National Park lies directly behind the property and is ideal for walking or bird watching. You can walk across the hills straight from the back gate! There are also beautiful coastal walks. There is a huge choice of sandy beaches in the local area from wide sandy, child friendly beaches to isolated coves on the Cap de Creus Nature Reserve. Watersports include, kitesurfing and scuba diving etc. 10 minutes away you will find the sky diving centre at Empuriabrava. Local attractions include Aqua Brava water park and Go-carting. Horse riding and cycling are also popular local pursuits. The world famous restaurant El Bulli is about 15 minutes drive and the famous Salvador Dali towns Cadaques and Figueres are approx. 15 and 20 minutes drive. There are several vineyards in the surrounding area where you can taste and buy local wine. The apartment is also located about 30 minutes from the French border.
Travel
Nearest airport is Girona (often called Barcelona Girona) approximately 1 hour drive. Perpignan (France) approximately 1 hour. Barcelona, approximately 2 hours. We feel a car is essential to enjoy your holiday here. You can hire one at all airports or bring your own. Driving from Calais for example takes about 12 hrs not including rest breaks (approx 750 miles).

We can provide a taxi service from Girona airport payable to the driver on arrival. One way €65. Return €130.
Booking notes
A 25% deposit will secure your booking, the balance to be paid 4 weeks before your arrival. An additional refundable damage deposit of £200 is required with the final payment. This refundable deposit will be returned to you within 14 days of your departure if there are no damages to the property.
