La Casita de la Cruz is situated near to Iznajar,
1 hour's drive from Malaga airport or only 45 mins from Granada airport. Here you can experience the best of living in rural Spain, surrounded by olive groves and stunning views, while living in a comfortable well equipped house with a private terrace and a pool onsite. La Casita adjoins a small Spanish smallholding and is next to, but completely separate from, Casa Gordo. It is only a 2 minute walk from the village but its situation ensures that you feel part of rural life where the sun governs the day, from cock's crow to siesta and beyond. Walking and bird watching tours can be arranged on request.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible. Guests are asked not to arrive before 4pm and departure by 10.30am please, but times are negotiable.

| Living Rooms: | Lounge with tv, video, DVD, CD/tape player. Large settee and chairs. French windows to terrace. |

House towels and linen are provided and changed weekly. Visitors are required to bring their own pool/beach towels. The casita is cleaned weekly. |
Notes on accommodation
The casita is double glazed and centrally heated for winter use. Highchair and cot are available. Rent is inclusive of gas and electricity and a welcome pack is provided on arrival.
Outside
Outside the casita is a spacious, private and gated terrace with table, chairs, sun umbrella and barbeque. Large shared pool (8m x 4m, depth from 1.1m to 1.8m) with steps at the shallow end, fully fenced with tiled terraces equipped with sun loungers, chairs and large poolside table. Sun umbrellas and poolside shower. Various floats, lilos and games to use in the pool. Electric lamps light the pool terrace at night.
Coast/Beach
Local lakeside beach just 10 minute drive away where you can swim, with canoes and pedaloes for hire in high season. Also a beach cafe/restaurant. One hour drive (75 kilometres) to coastal beaches of Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Torre del Mar with many attractions eg. AquaPark, Sea Life Park etc.
Golf
30 minute drive to top class golf course at Antequera (18 hole, par 72) situated on mountainside with fantastic views of the surrounding area. Special rates apply at different times of year.
Skiing
Sierra Nevada ski resorts are just 1 3/4 hours away, catering for all levels of skiers different snow sports, and enjoying a long season.

Flights to Malaga airport 1 hour's drive from the house, or Granada airport 45 mins drive.

Distances
Iznajar with its churches and moorish castle is 10 minutes drive. Situated on the cusp of Cordoba, Granada and Malaga provinces and just 15 mins from excellent motorways means that Antequera is a 20 minute drive, Granada is 45 mins by car, Cordoba is a 60 minute drive, and Seville is just 2 hours away. Priego de Cordoba, a stunning moorish and baroque town is just an hour's drive.
Spectacular Torcal Park and Flamingo Lake just 20 and 30 minutes away. Donkey and Wolf Sanctuaries nearby.
Further details
Iznajar and Vva de Tapia have plenty of shops, mini-supermarkets and banks with cash withdrawal points. There are plenty of rural restaurants, the nearest being only 5 minutes away.
Horse riding available 10 minutes away. For walkers there is a wealth of local walks to suit all abilities, including impressive El Torcal and Subetica National Parks.

July 2006. We can throughly recommend the newly renovated casita high up in the mountains a hour's drive on fast roads north of Malaga. The traditional exterior belies the modern interior, comfortably furnished - especially for the necessary siesta. The self contained terrace and access to the pool ensures that you will quickly relax and come to appreciate this totally unspoilt region of southern Spain.
