This fabulous villa is set on the hill above Aigua Blava bay within an easy walk to the beach, restaurants and local amenities. Yet the villa is in a very quiet location. The living space is open plan, leading to an outdoor covered dining area. The views are sensational from the very spacious wrap around terraces on 3 levels. The pool terrace is sheltered and sunny and a great spot to watch the activity in the bay below. There is a poolside bar just waiting to be stocked with your holiday drinks! There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms in the main house and a small studio apartment attached. There is a BBQ area on the top terrace and another on one of the lower terraces so lots of room for entertaining and eating out on a balmy evening! If the sun is too hot for you there is a large covered terrace on the lower level shaded from the sun. The villa is spacious ideal for large families or groups. There are lots of areas to sit enjoy the spectacular views.

Notes on prices
Prices shown are for the property per week payment is by bank transfer in euros. The price quoted is for the villa only the studio apartment is a further 350 euros but not let separately. Please check for late availability offers. The sterling prices quoted are at the exchange rate when this page was posted so is subject to currency fluctuations.

Changeover day
Normally we ask that you leave by 10am on Saturday morning in order for the house to be cleaned in time for a 4pm arrival. This can be flexible subject to a later arrival time of the people next booked.

Kitchen: Fridge/freezer, hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, full range of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
Utility Room: Iron, ironing board, washing machine.
Living Rooms: The living space is comfortably furnished. This is an open plan area with sitting room and dining area and american style kitchen. There is satellite TV with English channels, DVD with a small library of DVDs to suit all ages and tastes. Music centre.
Other: The studio apartment is accessed separately from the road but is only let in conjunction with the main house. It has a shower room and small bedroom off the small reception room. There is an extra charge for the use of the studio see pricing notes.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen is included and the house will be cleaned once a week. If rented for more than one week the house is cleaned each week and a change of linen provided.
If you would like someone to clean on a daily basis this can be arranged. Please ask.

 

Notes on accommodation
The swimming pool is heated by solar energy. There a lots of sun loungers and poolside furniture. There is a large covered terrace ideal for the little ones to play in the shade.

Accessibility
The villa is suitable for the eldery and infirm with a flight of stairs at entrance and to the pool level. It is not wheelchair accessible.

Outside
The house is on a very steep site so the garden area is not viable. However there are a number of very large terraces both open and covered. There is a bbq area off the top terrace beside the dining room with a table that seats 8/10. There is another bbq area on a lower terrace again with a large table and chairs. There are sun loungers around the pool and also garden table and chairs on this level. The pool is 8x4m and very sunny. There is another lower terrace with part shaded area which also has sun loungers. Ideal if you have little ones who need to be out of the sun for part of the day. So whilst there is no garden as such there is lots of outside pace. Because of the steepness of the site it is very difficult to photograph well enough to give you a really good idea of just how big the villa and the terraces are. For families with children the villa is very user friendly and there is lots of space for the little ones to play.

Coast/Beach
We are just above the very beautiful sandy cove of Aigua Blava which is a five minute walk down the hill. The beaches of Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, Aigua Gelida, Tamariu are all within a very short drive. This is a great area for walking as there are 'rights of way' and walking paths along the whole coastline. Fantastic snorkelling and diving in the bay (with a dive school on the way down to the beach). This a marine conservation area so plenty of wonderful fish and interesting things to see.

Golf
There are a number of local golf courses, Emporda is a championship course about 15 mins away, in Pals which is about 10 mins away there are two good courses both Playa de Pals and Sierres de Pals, but this whole are is a golfers dream particularly in the autumn and spring months when it isn't too hot! courses aren't too crowded and not very expensive.

Travel
To really enjoy your holiday in this area a car is essential. The nearest airport is Girona approx 45 mins drive away, Perpignan is 90mins, Barcelona 90 mins. Car hire is readily available and quite reasonable from both Gerona and Barcelona Airports.

Distances
Begur is the nearest small town about five mins in the car away. There is always something happening and entertainment is provided throughout the year with music, dancing, art markets and exhibitions, weekly artisan fairs etc. Palafreugell is our nearest market town and offers a great choice of shops with everything you could want. There is a daily market with meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. On Sunday the big market takes place.
Barcelona is within easy access 90mins by car or rail.

Further details
There is so much to see and do in this area it is very difficult to choose what to recommend. I would recommend, that you choose a cloudy day to tear yourselves away from the beach to see the Dali theatre museum in Figueres and Barcelona is a Sunday trip (when the traffic is less busy) if you haven't been to Barcelona before it is well worth seeing. The bus tour is particularly good and easy to do.
Nearby, at the beach there are kayaks for hire, the snorkelling and swimming is fantastic and there are lots of creatures for little ones to discover in the rock pools. You could take a days sailing which we can arrange on your behalf. Nearby there are numerous facilities for horse riding, quad bike riding, paintball, petting zoo, etc., We have a guide to the villa in the house which not only gives you a general guide to how everything works in the house but also a number of suggestions for things to see and do in the area.
There are a number of medieval villages inland which are facinating to wander round in the evenings. Many of which have wonderful inexpensive local restaurants. This area is well know for its exceptional standard of cooking, both at inexpensive and at the more gourmet restaurants. There is somewhere to suit all budgets and tastes. In fact it is hard to get a poor meal here. Of course this area is renowned for its local champagne style wine cava, and many of the local wine producers are delighted to share their knowledge and wine. Tastings can be arranged.
Shopping is a pleasure in this part of Spain. From the local markets with fresh fish, meat and vegetables, to the small boutiques and vast pottery emporiums the experience is great. Service with a smile really still does exist !! Coupled with reasonable prices it is a breeze to shop here.

We ask a 20% deposit on booking and full balance paid 6 weeks before arrival date.
We ask for a cleaning/breakage deposit of 200 euros fully refundable subject to the house being left reasonably clean and no major breakages.
