Dense pine forest stretches away behind the property with Alhaurin and the distant mountains beyond in front. Within the mature and beautifully landscaped Mediterranean garden is a fenced and gated pool to ensure the safety of young guests. In addition to the numerous local golf courses, the area is ideal for walking, mountain biking, horse riding or simply exploring. This spacious house sleeps 10 in 5 double bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms, one of which is on the ground floor. It has 3 large reception rooms, plus a central courtyard and an extensive covered terrace for relaxing and dining. Collection to and from the airport, maid service, a chef and babysitting can all be arranged if required.

Notes on accommodation
The property has air-conditioning which in the cooler months "inverts" to provide heating. The units are in each of the 5 bedrooms and the three living rooms. Additional heaters are available in other rooms and there is a fine wood burning fire in the sitting room.
Accessibility
The property is nor specifically designed for people with mobility problems. The ground floor bedroom, shower room, kitchen, dining room, TV room, internal courtyard and breakfast room are on the same level, hence can be accessed without any steps from the covered veranda and from the car. The sitting room is 2 steps down from this level. There is no lift to get to the first floor.
Outside
The beautiful mature gardens are approx 3,000 sq metres in size. The pool measures 4m x 12m approx, with sun recliners provided on the adjacent patio. The pool area is attractively fenced and gated to ensure the safety of children. A movable gas BBQ is supplied. The terrace outside the house has comfortable sofas and a swing seat, plus seating for 8 at a large teak dining table.
Coast/Beach
The beach resorts of Marbella and Fuengirola are a 30 minute drive away.
Golf
There are innumerable local golf courses in the Marbella area, some 30 minutes away. The nearest course is Alhaurin Golf (10 minutes drive) and Lauro Golf (5 minutes drive).
Skiing
Skiing in the winter is available around Granada - about 2 hours drive away.
Travel
The nearest airport is Malaga. Alhaurin el Grande is a 35 minute drive on well sign-posted roads. The use of a hire car is highly recommended.
Distances
Alhaurin el Grande is a 3 minute drive. Alhaurin de la Torre is 10 minutes drive; Coin is 20 minutes drive; Marbella and its extensive beaches are 30 minues away.
Further details
There are many good restaurants in and around central Alhaurin. Good supermarkets, shops, banks etc - Alhaurin is a thriving town with most facilities. The villa has a folder with lots of local information including restaurants.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We purchased in Alhaurin because it has all facilities you would need from a town, but we fell in love with this lovely quiet villa with its gorgeous garden, which we refurbished to a high standard - one in which we would be happy to live (rather than just holiday!). The villa is above the town so there are views over the town and down across the valley and to the mountains above. The walks up the hill into the nature reserve are fantastic - you can even see Malaga and the sea if you go high enough! The coast is nearby by good roads and there are a two good golf courses within 10 minutes drive of the villa.
Unique benefits of the property
The kids love the pool and gardens - there is so much room in which to play around. There is ample room for us and our friends there. And wonderful sights are close by. Enjoy watching the eagles and vultures circling high above you! The villa backs onto the national park/forest, with miles of walks amongst the pine trees. From the top you can see all the way to Malaga to the north, or across the Guadalhorce valley to the hills. Beautiful at sunset. The villa is only 35 minutes from Malaga airport and only 20 minutes to the coast. Mijas, Marbella and many other major towns are close. Shopping in Alhaurin el Grande is very good and there is a weekly market. The old town has good restaurants and bars and, whilst a good 20 minutes walk away, it is a nice thing to do when not too hot!
