This superb villa is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in the most desirable area of Las Fuentes. It has attractive well-kept gardens with a private swimming pool, and extensive open and shaded terraces with stunning 180 degree views of the nearby sea. It has 4 bedrooms (2 double, 2 twin) and 3 bathrooms. The first floor has a large outside terrace (shaded and sunny areas) with the kitchen/diner and lounge. The villa is immaculately appointed throughout and maintained to a very high standard. Please note the pool is not fenced off so vigilance needed with children.

Changeover day
Flexible changeover days available, we recognise the budget airlines travel on variable days. Villa cleaned thoroughly at each changeover so leaving time 10am, arrival 3pm please. Welcome to use pool, garden if arriving before that.

Notes on accommodation
The fantastic views from the villa can not be over-stated: there is a 180 degree view of the sea from the balconies with mountain views behind. There is ample car parking (3 cars) within the villa's grounds. Ideally I think the villa is suitable for families with young children as opposed to toddlers because of the pool and balcony. (The baby equipment is there, but I've bought it as I have grandchildren.)
Accessibility
We are in a slightly elevated position ( hence the view). Walk back from beach involves two gentle inclines, slightly steeper for last 200 yards.(Takes me 15 minutes...aged 60 now!!) There is access to property from ground floor, stone steps to upper balcony and upper entrance, living area is upstairs so all can enjoy the view. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms ground floor, two bedrooms, one bathroom lower ground floor. Regrettably not suitable for disabled/wheelchair access.
Outside
Private self-cleaning swimming pool with steps. 1m at shallow end and 2m at deep end. BBQ and garden furniture provided. There is also an outside freshwater shower next to the pool. Please note the pool is not fenced off, vigilance needed for child supervision (this is clearly demonstrated in the photographs, my daughter sitting on the edge! ). There is a pool alarm provided with two wristbands for small children.
Coast/Beach
Five beautiful sandy beaches are nearby with EU blue flag awards. Las Fuentes beach is 10 minutes walk away and the rest are within 5 minutes drive away with easy parking. Rocky outcrops are found between the sandy coves. Football pitches, volleyball nets, play areas and watersports-pedlos, windsurfing, scuba diving, jet ski-ing and sailing are available in season.
Golf
Two excellent 18 hole golf courses nearby. Club Panoramica near Vinaros,designed by Bernhard Langer, is approx 30 minutes away, see www.panoramicagolf.com

Skiing
Approximately 90 minutes drive to Spanish Ski Resort at Valdines. Andorra is approximately a four hour drive.
Travel
By car from: Barcelona Airport approx 2hrs away (BA, Easyjet, Iberia, Ryanair). Valencia Airport approx 1 hour 10 minutes away (BA, Iberia, Easyjet, Ryanair, Thomson). Reus Airport approx 1hr15 minutes away (Ryanair, Air 2000,Thomson). Cruise and drive from Santander or Bilbao. By car from Dover 1,200 miles. I did Santander drive with my daughter in June 11, very easy
drive. It took us 7 hours with brief stop for lunch.
Distances
Car hire is recommended to explore this beautiful and unspoilt coastline. Visit Peniscola (15min drive) a picturesque old town with castle overlooking the town and sea. Visit Morella (1hour drive) a medieval town perched high up in the mountains. Visit Aquarama Water Park in Benicassim, 30 mins away for a wet and wild day. Universal Studio's Port Aventura, one of Europe's biggest theme parks is 1hours drive away with Costa Caribe,another water park. Visit Valencia,home of the 2007 America's cup.
Further details
Las Fuentes is a relatively quiet resort and nightlife is limited. Alcossebre has an extensive range of shops, supermarkets and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. There are cash points and banks and English speaking G.P's (private), dentists and pharmacies. There is also an internet cafe. The main health centre is in Alcossebre and treatment is free with E111, they are excellent but very Spanish..phrasebook essential! I had sutures there myself last year.
Booking notes
20% non refundable required at time of booking. Balance payable 6 weeks prior to arrival. A cheque for £250 should be given to us as we hand you the keys on arrival. This acts as a security deposit to cover any damage you may cause. We give you the cheque back as you return your keys to us as the end of your holiday. We have never had to cash such a cheque yet!!!

About the owner
Charles and I are both general practitioners in Cardiff, I am now working on a part time basis. We have four adult children and two baby grand daughters. We want people to relax and enjoy our villa and we try to provide you with "home from home" amenities. We know how difficult it is to pack with young families, especially with budget airlines, so we provide all towels and linen for you. The villa is prepared between changeovers by a very nice lady who leaves a welcome pack of basics in case you arrive at night..Tricia does not routinely come back during your stay but there is plenty of bedlinen if you wish to change sheets etc for your second week. There are contact numbers of our "support crew" left in the villa for any problems you might encounter.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We purchased our property in July 2010. We have visited Alcossebre several times in recent years and decided it was the perfect area for us. Alcossebre is ideal for family holidays. It is a small, very Spanish seaside town. The beaches are beautiful and there are also nature reserves suitable for walking, cycling. There are no high rise hotels permitted. There are lots of restaurants, cafes, bars, small shops within easy walking distance of our villa and a larger supermarket on the main road into town. We are 75 minutes from Valencia and 80 minutes from Barcelona Reus airport. There is a new airport, Castellon, due to open soon. There is a water-park 45 minutes away. Please note our pool is not fenced off (as a GPand a Granny to two babies I'm a bit neurotic about this!!)
Unique benefits of the property
Our property is in a slightly elevated position so we have beautiful views over the sea from both our balconies. The beach is literally a ten minute walk away. We currently have two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom and one with a shower room adjacent to it. Both bathrooms were refurbished recently. Kitchen has dishwasher, microwave, oven, toaster, washing machine and iron. Towels, hairdryer, straightener provided. There is a permanent stone BBQ on the lower balcony. We have our own pool and a great support crew that keep the whole place running, all are happy to be contacted if any problems arise. March 2011...2 extra double bedrooms and new shower now completed on lower level of property. We can comfortably sleep 8 adults now.
