A modern 3 storey townhouse situated on the quiet urbanisation of Puerto Caleta, easily accessible from the E15/A7 motorway or N340 coast road. It is a bright, sunny 4 bedroom/3 bathroom house located within walking distance of Caleta de Velez fishing village, marina and beach. It is decorated to a high standard, is south facing and has views over the sweeping bay of Torre del Mar. Available to guests is a communal swimming pool and a tennis court. From the house it is a short stroll to the seafront, local shops and bars, while a 20 minute walk will bring you into Torre del Mar with its numerous restaurants, bars and shops. The Baviera Golf course is just 1km away and caters for all levels of golf while other well known courses are within a 20 minute drive. A car is recommended, as there are some beautiful places to visit locally, although not essential as there are frequent buses running along the coast road to Nerja, Malaga and beyond.

Changeover day
We are flexible regarding arrival and departure days but ask guests not to arrive before 5pm and to depart by 10am, unless a prior arrangment has been made in writing, to allow adequate time for cleaning before new guests are due.

The house is thoroughly cleaned before each let. Bedlinen, house and pool towels are supplied and changed on a weekly basis for the longer term lets. Water and electric are included at no extra cost. A hot tub is available for an additional charge. |

Notes on accommodation
Electric hot/cold air-conditioning units are installed in the lounge and bedroom 1 and there is a log burning fire in the lounge for the winter lets. Guests are requested not to smoke inside the house however ashtrays are provided for use on the terraces.
Accessibility
The accommodation has stairs so may not be suitable for people with limited mobility.
Outside
The house has an enclosed shady front garden which includes a lemon tree. The large south facing enclosed outside terrace, to the rear of the house, is accessed through the lounge area. There is overhead shading, a large glass topped table with 6 cushioned chairs, four sun loungers and a cushioned swinging hammock. The five seater hot tub is also located on this terrace and is available on request.
Upstairs leading from bedroom 1 is a balcony and on the upper level is a roof terrace both with a small table and 2 chairs, perfect for morning tea or an evening cocktail and both have views over the main terrace and the bay of Torre del Mar. There is a communal unheated swimming pool (open from mid June to mid September) and a tennis court available all year round for use by the residents and guests of the urbanisation only.
Coast/Beach
A 5 minute walk will bring you to the coarse grained sandy beach and marina of Caleta de Velez. A broad 5km promenade stretches along the sweeping bay of Torre del Mar in the west, to Mezquitilia in the east and is ideal for a relaxing walk to the numerous bars and restaurants along the coast. For those desiring more energetic pursuits windsurfing and kite surfing can be enjoyed in the bay.
Golf
About 1km away is Baviera Golf, an 18 hole, par 71 course designed by the top Spanish pro Jose Maria Canizares and has superb views of the mountains and sea. Baviera Golf caters for all levels of players and has a driving range, clubhouse, restaurant, pro shop, changing rooms and showers. Lessons, trolleys and club hire are available. Many other golf courses are available within the Malaga province and are within easy reach by car.
A 20 minute drive away, towards Malaga, is the Anoreta Golf course at Rincon De La Victoria, an 18 hole, par 72 course also designed by Jose Maria Canizares. The course offers the golfer a good challenge with water being the main hazard.
Skiing
Sierra Nevada is Spain's most southerly ski resort. Located near Granada it is a 1.5 hour drive away and is open from December to April. It has many ski schools, nursery slopes, apres-ski restaurants, bars, shops and ski lifts.
Special interest holidays
4x4 expeditions can be arranged to take you into the mountains so you can see and experience a taste of 'real' Spain.
Travel
Nearest airport is at Malaga a 35 min easy drive along the A7/E15 motorway. Car hire is available from Malaga airport and there are numerous car hire companies to choose from or prebook over the internet. However a car is not essential, taxis charge approx. 70 euros from the airport to Caleta de Velez or there are bus transfers from the airport to the centre of Malaga where there are frequent and cheap buses running along the N340. At Caleta it is a 5 minute, slightly uphill, walk to the house.
Distances
Cheap and frequent buses run along the main N340 coast road to many interesting and varied destinations.
The busy beach resort of Nerja with its world famous caves are a 20 min drive away while a 30 min drive inland, along tarmaced roads, will bring you to numerous whitewashed villages nestling in the Almijara mountains or on the edge of the national park and are well worth a visit. 4x4 trips into the mountains can also be arranged.
Further details
A 5 min walk will bring you to the local shops of Caleta de Velez which includes banks, a post office, bakery, butchers, paper shop, supermarkets and numerous bars and restaurants. An Aldi store is currently being built and will be open for the summer of 2012. While a 20 min walk or short car/bus ride will bring you to the bustling commercial centre of Torre del Mar with its banks, a post office as well as many shops, bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes. A 10 minute drive away is the El Ingenio shopping mall boasting over 114 shops and food outletsand a multi screen cinema. Across the road from this shopping mall is Aquavelis an outdoor aqua park open from June to September and has 21 different rides, numerous slides, gift shop and restaurant. Gibraltar is a 1.5 hour drive away, shorter if the motorway toll roads are used, where you can shop VAT free, visit the upper rock nature reserve and mingle with the world famous Barbary apes, dolphin watch in the Bay of Gibraltar or just relax in the many restaurants and bars. A valid passport is required to visit Gibraltar.
Local markets are held every Saturday in Caleta de Velez, Wednesdays in Algarrobo costa and on Thursdays in Torre del Mar and Velez Malaga.
Booking notes
Please contact by email or telephone. On booking confirmation you will be asked for a 25% deposit to secure your chosen dates and this becomes non refundable if you subsequently cancel the booking within 56 days of the booked arrival date. The remaining 75% plus a refundable security deposit is due 2 weeks prior to arrival. Payment can be in GBP or euros (based on the European Central Bank exchange rate at the due date of payment.) NB We only accept family bookings ie no stag or hen parties.
