The Bella Vista is a charming rose-tinted villa set among mature trees & in a wonderful & very private position with sensational views of the mountains & countryside as well as of the golf course just a few metres away. The villa is built on 2 levels, with the living accommodation upstairs & the bedrooms below. There are 4 bedrooms accommodating up to 8 guests & 2 bathrooms with tub & shower, one of which is en suite in the master bedroom. 3 of the bedrooms open out onto the wonderful views & onto a path leading to the pool just a few paces away. These 3 bedrooms have airconditioning while the 4th bedroom has effective fans for summer cooling. The upstairs living area comprises a comfortable & well furnished living room, a dining room & the kitchen. Both living room & dining room open out onto the terrace with the fabulous views & a shaded al fresco dining area, while the living room & kitchen also open out onto the rear patio with a further sitting-out area & the barbecue.

Long winter lets can be considered for the period October 2010 through March 2011.
Changeover day
Flexible changeover days, dependent upon other bookings. Departure from the villa is latest 11am & earliest arrival is 2pm. This is to allow time for cleaning etc. We are always as flexible as possible & try to balance arrivals & departures as we can.

| Kitchen: | The kitchen has 2 fridges, one with freezer compartment; gas cooker and hob, microwave, kettle. |
| Utility Room: | The outside utility area off the kitchen, is manly used for washing, with a washing machine & clothes line. |
| Living Rooms: | The living room has 2 large sofas, round coffee table, flat screen TV, radio/CD player, books etc. The living room has a long table with 6 dining chairs plus 2 "Director" chairs to make 8 places. There is also a dresser. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels & linen are changed weekly. The villa is thoroughly cleaned before guests arrival. For 2 week holiday periods, a mid stay cleaning of the villa can be arranged at the guests charge. In the summer months the pool is cleaned weekly. |

Notes on accommodation
The villa is suitable for children, assuming normal parental care. There are internal stairs going down to the bedrooms & external stairs going down from the terrace to the pool area. Because these could be potentially dangerous for toddlers, in both cases there are gates to stop small children accessing alone.
Accessibility
The villa is not suitable for people with mobility problems.
Outside
The entry drive, the villa surround & the land behind are planted & there are several mature trees on the property.
The huge terrace overlooking the mountains, countryside & golf course has a shaded area at one end for al fresco dining. There are a dining table & chairs.
The terrace itself has 3 loungers, 2 further foldable lounger/seats & 2 double seats There are also available the 2 "Director" chairs & guests often use the 3 poolside loungers.
The swimming pool is only 3 years old & has a very attractive wall of rose-coloured boulders. It is totally private & measures 8 x 4m & is 2m deep at the end. As the sun moves around, there are shaded areas available around the pool.
There is a simple charcoal barbecue in the rear patio area.
Coast/Beach
The sandy beaches of Mojacar Playa are only a 15 minute drive. They stretch all the way from the neighbouring town of Garrucha, right along through Mojacar Playa & on out towards Carboneras in the other direction. hese beaches are seldom overcrowded & are lined with beach bars & restaurants.
Golf
Cortijo Grande has its own popular 9 hole golf course, the first fairway of which is just a few metres in front of the villa. The golf office is no more than a 5 minute walk from the villa & is next door to the popular Almazara bar/restaurant, much frequented by the players.
Other golf courses n the area, only short drives away, include Marina del Torre, Desert Springs & Vale del Este.
Travel
Car availability is essential. The nearest airport is Almeria, just a 45 min. drive away. Other airports include Murcia about 90 mins drive & Alicante some 2.5 hours drive away.
Distances
The nearest village is spectacular Cabrera above Cortijo Grande in the Sierra Cabrera hills. From the villa you can be there in 10 mins. drive. Restaurants.
The nearest village is Turre, with several restaurants & shops. Market on Fridays.
Mojacar is an ancient Moorish village perched high overlooking the sea & beaches below. Lots of shops, bars & restaurants. Only 10-15 mins. by car.
Garrucha combines being a working fishing port as well as a touristic town. Bars & restaurants. 25 mins drive
Further details
While there are no shops in Cortijo Grande, there are 3 bar/restaurants, the Almazara, (most recommended), Pina and Listoneros.. Nearest shops are in Turre, including a supermarket. Several restaurants including Spanish, Argentinian, Indian and Chinese.
Cabrera has 2 restaurants, Los Pastores and the Riad Cabrera (most recommended).
At Mojacar Playa there are several banks & also a very good supermarket, the Mercadona. The long beach includes many beach bar/restaurants including El Cid (recommended for light beachside lunches) Other restaurants of note include Neptuno, Oliva. La Bolla etc. On the rroad down towards the beach from Mojacar village is Osteria, an excellent Italian restaurant.
On Mojacar Playa is the Parque Commercial, a shopping mall with many nice shops, bars and a restaurant.
Booking notes
Bookings are confirmed by payment of 50% of the rental. The balance will be due no later than one month prior to planned arrival at the villa. Also due at that time is a returnable deposit of £150 to cover any eventual losses or damage.

About the owner
My wife Frances & I have had a villa in Cortijo Grande since 1978, while we moved around the world following my career. Coming back each year to the valley, we have had plenty of time to grow to love this beautiful place.
When we came out to live here permanently in 2005, we bought the villa Bella Vista as a beautiful property to rent out while we continue to live in our villa just 5 minutes away across the valley. Since then, many guests have enjoyed holidays at the Bella Vista & some return for repeats - the best indication of a perfect holiday home.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We discovered this lovely location back in 1978 & fell in love with it. It is certainly one of the most beautiful areas in Andalucia. It is a green valley with many trees including olive, orange, lemon, fig etc. and the whole has the beautiful Sierra Cabrera mountains as the backdrop.
Also, in terms of easy access it is only 45 minutes drive from the nearest airport Almeria.
Unique benefits of the property
The villa overlooks the first fairway of the Golf Course & the popular Almazara bar/restaurant where everybody congregates is literally 3-4 minutes walk.
Because we are elevated above the road, the villa is very private and peaceful.
