Very easy access to 11 different golf courses in and around 'golf valley'. Just 25 minutes from Malaga airport, and only 20 minutes to Marbella and Puerto Banus. Skiing just 2 hours drive away. Famous Mijas racecourse just 5 minutes drive.

Notes on prices
We are happy to rent for long weekends or midweek periods during off peak (Oct - May) Long let also considered, please just ask. We also require a £200 security deposit which is refunded when the villa keys have been returned and our 'housekeepers' confirm that there have been no damages.

Changeover day
We are flexible depending on existing bookings, so just ask. The only time we specify a Saturday changeover day is High season. Checkout: 11am Departure day so we can prepare for our next clients. Check in: Villa ready from 3.30pm onwards.

Other: All rooms have fans and heaters and all windows are fitted with mosquito nets (there is wrought iron security on all windows and entrances). Also hairdryer available.

Rates are per week for 4 guests (5th & 6th person add £25ea per week), includes: pool and garden maintenance, all cleaning, bedding linen and towels (which we have professionally laundered for all our guests) and we also have pool/beach towels available.

Notes on accommodation
Though the villa doesn't have air-conditioning, we have never found it necessary as the villa stays naturally cool, we do have ceiling and rooms fans which again help keep the villa cool.

Accessibility
The property does have reasonable access for wheelchairs, but there are a couple of steps down into the front entrance of villa front entrance, along with a couple of steps at the back down to the pool area. Once inside the villa it is all on one level. Once outside by the pool there is a separate wc with external access, but again with two small steps.

Outside
Pool is solar heated and is professionally cleaned and maintained. It has a pool-side shower, sunbeds and loungers, sun shades. Gas barbeque. Covered outdoor dining terrace with dining for 6/8. Large roof terrace with furniture, with lovely sea and mountain views (great for sun-downers!)

Coast/Beach
It's just 7 minutes walk to the pretty fishing village of La Cala de Mijas with it's all-sand cove beach, which is dotted along with lovely beach side restaurants and cafes. Great safe beach for children, with a variety of ongoing activities.

Golf
Excellent location to a great choice of wonderful golf courses. Within 15 minutes drive there are 11 courses easily available. Plus a key advantage of the villa is its walkable location to many restaurants and bars in La Cala town (nothing worse than being stuck in a property miles from any bars and restaurants and having to wait on expensive taxis!). The Costa del Sol has the largest number of golf courses in Europe with many within close driving distance of Mijas.
Golf courses less than 15 minutes drive include: Mijas Golf Club - Los Lagos and Los Olivos. La Cala Golf (3 courses)Santana Country Club. Alhaurin Golf Club. La Siesta Golf Club. Santa Maria Golf and Country Club. Cabopino Golf. Miraflores Golf Club.

Skiing
Literally from our villa front door to bottom of Sierra Nevada ski slopes in just 2 hours, door to door.

Travel
Malaga airport is just 25 minutes drive from terminal to villa front door, and car hire on the Costa is relatively inexpensive (we can recommend affordable car hire companies from the airport, if you require). A hire car is useful but not essential because the villa is so close to shops, restaurants and beaches. If you don't want to hire a car you can easily take the train from Malaga airport to Fuengirola (takes about 30 mins) and then take a short taxi ride from the train station to the villa.

Distances
7 minutes WALK to pretty La Cala beachfront and town, with all its restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shops and cafes.

Further details
La Cala de Mijas is famous pretty fishing village, with lots going on. It buzzes with numerous fairs and festivals throughout the year (the Spanish love their ferias!). There is a very popular market every Wednesday and Saturdays the people come from miles around to go to (you can walk to it from the villa) - the market sells everything you can think of at bargain prices. Also the famous Hippodromo horse-racing course is only 10 minutes drive away - with music and a real party atmosphere, this is always a great event to attend, especially the evening race meetings.

Booking notes
The villa can accommodate 2 to 6 people. A 30% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before occupation. For those staying longer than a week a mid clean and linen change can easily be arranged for approx 60-80 euros.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We were initially attracted to the Costa del Sol some 15 years ago primarily because of the strong record of all-year-around sun and warm temperatures, and we also had family connections here. We bought our first property nearly 11 years ago, and have owned a home on the 'sunshine' coast' ever since. We moved 3 years ago to our current villa because we wanted to be much closer to the sea, with sea views, and also wanted the ability to be able to WALK in under 10 minutes to the beach and to the very pretty town of La Cala de Mijas, which offers an array of lovely restaurants and bars, which curls around the beautiful beachfront of what is 'the cove of Mijas' (La Cala de Mijas).
