Coast/Beach

We also offer transfers from the apartment to the pistes if required.
Special interest holidays
We offer clients both Spanish courses and guided tours of Alhambra/Albayzin.
Noelia is a Spanish teacher with over ten years of experience and teaches all levels - from raw beginners up to foreign Spanish teachers who wish to improve their teaching skills - and all from her wonderful terrace with view of the Alhambra palace across the valley.
Maribel has studied Art History and gives guided tours of the Alhambra and Albayzin in both English and Spanish.
If you wish to avail of either of these service please let us know in your request email.
Travel
The nearest airport is Granada which is serviced by Ryanair, Monarch and Vueling to name a few. It is only 12 kilometres from the city and buses or taxis can have in the centre in a matter of minutes depending on traffic. Also Malaga airport is just over an hour away by motorway to the south.
Distances
You can walk to Granada's historic center in five minutes. Also the entrance gates to the Alhambra in 10 and the apartment is located in the middle of the Arabic quarter (El Albayzin) which is itself one of Granada's most visited sites of interest. With its cobbled streets, exploring this Moorish maze is a must. But be prepared to get lost as here, the flavour of something different persists.
Further details
The Albayzin has its fare share of famous restaurants with their spectacular night vista of an illuminated Alhambra. But the bars is where you will feel the real pulse of the city. Bars where the tapas (small samples of specialty dishes) are free and to trawl from one to the next just is not just a drinking extravaganza but a culinary tour of the tastes Andalucia has to offer.
The neighbouring district of Sacromonte is more famous for its caves; the centre of gypsy or gitano culture and Flamenco in Granada. It is likely that the first inhabitants of the caves were Jews and Muslims forced out of their homes during the Reconquest of Granada in 1492, and thus Sacromonte has always been home to the marginalised. Dug into the limestone hill, the cuevas can be elaborate affairs, as houses, restaurants, bars and even a discotheque. With tens of metres of earth for walls or a roof, they maintain a constant temperature in both winter and summer and acts as soundproofing for the many Flamenco joints which line the main drag, the Camino de Sacromonte.
Although some are quite touristy and the quality of both the food and entertainment questionable, it is possible to still find authentic
Flamenco in Granada. La Chumbera is a flamenco school which has shows every Saturday

Guest comments
The location was fantastic, there was parking for our car, the bus stop was really close - it had a great atmosphere, being such an old building, but the owners have done a beautiful job of renovating. It was really clean and well equipped for self-catering- cant think of any negatives at all. Would thoroughly recommend Apartamentos Alhambra! Lily and Rose, Australia May 2011
Everything about the Apartamentos Alhambra was just right for me. Located in the Albaicin district near Sacromonte, the apartment was convenient for walking everywhere in the old section of the city. Lots of restaurants, bars, and shops nearby. But since the apartment is on a pedestrian-only side street, it is very quiet. I was on the ground floor in a 1-bedroom apartment with tile floors and white plaster walls. Very cozy, and furnished simply but with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Daniel and Noelia were charming, knowledgeable and helpful. Jim Vergin Virginia USA July 2011.
Owner profile
Daniel & Noelia - Alhambra Apartments.
About the owner
We are Daniel and Noelia, living beside the Alhambra Apartments, we are at hand to help you enjoy your stay in the cultural capital of Spain, Granada. Like the cosmopolitan nature of the Albayzín Daniel is Irish and Noelia Spanish. We found this old arabic house in a semi-ruined state and spent the following year restoring it to its former glory. We love the barrio, its village feel, the constant presence of the Alhambra and the colourful mix of people who live here. And if you feel like you want to get down with the locals Noelia is an experienced Spanish language teacher who teaches all levels from University students to absolute beginners.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We are located in the heart of the Albayzin, Granada - the most ancient part of a city renowned as much for culture and architecture as for it’s restaurants and bars. From the spectacular Alhambra Palace to the cobble-stone labyrinth of the Arabic quarter, Granada’s guide book writes itself. Turning pages or corners, the views from the Albayzín are stunning where old and new collide.
Unique benefits of the property
You can see the Alhambra in all its glory. Each aspect slightly different from the next. At sunset the red walls light up and transport you back in time to imagine the splendour of the Alhambra when the Arabs ruled the Iberian peninsula. The Albayzín also has a village feel to it. Car access is restricted so you can wander the streets discovering its secrets and meeting the locals. From the daily market in Plaza Larga to the flamenco bars of Sacromonte you can savour the special cosmopolitan character of the barrio. Enjoy the great restaurants or the tapas bars where food comes free with every drink. That way you can drink more of the region´s fantastic wine!
