This very large beautiful house is set in the lovely valley of Abdalajis on the edge of El Chorro Natural Park. A peaceful village that will meet most of your every day needs. There are many bars and restaurants, supermarkets, chemist, a health centre and banks. Markets on Thursday mornings and an outdoor municipal pool is open in the summer months. Free WIFI is available in the village. Activities available in the local area include: beautiful walks, swimming, climbing, hang gliding. Or just relax in the peaceful surroundings. The beautiful town of Antequera is only 20 mins away, and offers an 18 hole golf course, excellent shops and restaurants plus historic churches, museums and a roman castle. El Torcal, a park of geological interest, is close by and offers walks amongst fantastic rock formations. Malaga, the airport, the coast are an hours drive. Alora station is only a 20 minute drive away and has free parking. Return tickets to Malaga cost €4, with a journey time of 30 mins.

Changeover day
Changeover day is usually Saturday but where possible we may be flexible. Arrival time is after 3.30pm and we ask guests to depart by 10.30am.

Accessibility
As this property is 2 storey and has 2 steps between the dining room and lounge this property may not be suitable for a wheelchair users.

Outside
The house and garden are fully fenced. The front patio includes flower beds and a grape vine. Patio furniture is included. The large rear patio and garden have many fruit trees (orange, lemon, plum, olive etc). Patio furniture and a gas barbeque are also included. An above ground plunge pool is provided for guests.

Coast/Beach
Malaga, Fuengirola and the coast etc are an hours drive.

Golf
Antequera golf is a 20 min drive and is an 18 hole course.
Alhaurin golf is a 40 min drive and is an also a 18 hole course.

Special interest holidays
Hang gliding is available in the village. There are many walking trails in the area especially in the natural park which is close by, also climbing locally or in the famous El Chorro gorge.
Canoes and pedalos are available at the beatiful Ardales lakes.

Travel
Malaga is the nearest airport, or you have the option of arriving at Granada airport which is 90 mins away. Malaga airport is an hours drive from the village. A car is essential. Car hire services are available at the airports.

Distances
The village is a 5 min drive or a 15 min walk from the residence. Antequera is a 20 min drive. El chorro and the lakes are a 15 min drive. Wolf Park (Lobo Parque) is 15 min drive, Alora town is a 20min drive. El Torcal anicent rock formations is 20 min drive.

Further details
There are many bars and restaurants, 2 supermarkets, a chemist, a health centre and banks. There is a market on Thursday mornings, an open air municiple pool is open in the summer months. Free WIFI is available in the village. The lakes close by offer swimming, canoeing, fishing, restaurants, and beautiful scenery.

Booking notes
A deposit of 25% is required and the balance to be paid 8 weeks before arrival both payable in pounds sterling.

Diana and myself have lived in the area for 8 years. We love our life in the idyllic village of Abdalajis and Spain is a fabulous country to spend time in. We are always available for information and advice on the property and surrounding attractions and only to pleased to help.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We brought this property for its tranquil location and fantastic mountain views, the house is set in olive groves and close to the river, it also has an easy access to the road to Antequera, which is a quiet tarmac road.

Unique benefits of the property
The property has the benefit of being close enough to the village to walk but far enough away for it to be tranquil. Access is only along sealed roads so you do not need a 4WD, although there are plenty of opportunities for off roading should you bring one along. There are many beautiful country walks close by that allow you to see nature at its best, as we are situated in a Natural park. It also benefits the more adventurous with hang gliding, climbing and mountain biking available in the village, as well as fishing and water sports in the local Ardales lakes. As mentioned, there are plenty of off road tracks for motorbikes and 4 wheel drives.
