Outside
Terraces provided with tables, chairs, loungers, swing seat and shaded areas all with spectacular views. Beds of flowers herbs and fruit trees buzz with birds and butterflies, you may find us working in our organic vegetable garden which often has produce to spare. Surrounded by mixed forests and cultivated farmland the valley drops away dramatically below you and rises on its southern edge to the ridges of the stunning Montsec escarpment. You can enjoy soaking up these views after your day excursions, perhaps an aperitif on the terrace or cook dinner alfresco on the barbecue. In late spring you will hear the nightingale chorus, look up and you may see a horde of griffon vultures or a solitary golden eagle fly by. Every season offers something special and apart from nature's noise and the occasional tractor down in the valley the silence is deafening! From the main road to the house there is a 2km track in good condition well signed and ample parking on the terrace above the house.

Coast/Beach

Owner profile

About the owner
Like many others we were looking for a change in lifestyle and pace, voluntary redundancy from TV set design for Lou and Pete winding up a small building business meant we were free to set off and rediscover Europe to find a special place to settle. After 2 years of wandering in a motor home we kept returning to the Tremp valley, drawn by Pete’s love and knowledge of the Aiguestortes national park, we are now close to the high mountains we love with a milder climate and an incredible diversity of landscapes to enjoy around this valley we couldn’t find anywhere to beat it in Europe!Keen walkers gardeners and naturists we knew we had arrived when we found Tolo. Running bed & breakfast accommodation for the last 10yrs we have found people now want self catering so we set up the apartment.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
A characteristic house in a very special corner of this picturesque valley with the Vila Nova gorge & Montsec on our doorstep, a well set up organic vegetable garden & the chance to use alternative energy & natural resources-we have solar powered electricity recycle all we can & take water from a mountain source-it was too good to miss! Many people are surprised by how off the beaten track we are ‘how did you find this place?’ is often their first question, but everyone like our selves is delighted by the utter peace and tranquillity. Though the house was in need of little renovation Pete has used his building skills and Lou has added the decorative touches making it a really welcoming comfortable place to stay. We love the diversity of mountains valleys & lakes, there is so much to enjoy.

Unique benefits of the property
This is a rare opportunity to enjoy such peace & tranquility undisturbed by road noise & nights without light pollution, in an area with so much to offer. We use solar power & water from the mountain, recycle all the rubbish we can so you could call us eco friendly, well we try! We grow organic veg in season so you can learn some tips or enjoy the produce when available. The sheer peace & space of this situation is far from the hi-tec fast world you will leave behind giving the chance to live at the slower pace of nature. And for our visitors everyday a tough decision; trekking from the doorstep or off to the high mountains, rock climbing nearby, local markets & vineyards to visit, kayaking or swimming in pristine pools and lakes or just pop down and float in those magical plunge pools.
