This a very comfortable and well equipped townhouse and is the perfect escape for couples, families, golfers, or basically anyone who wants a taste of the real Spain. Forget the other Costas, this area will delight you and entice you back time and time again. The communal pool is landscaped and includes a separate children's pool. The pool is manned by a lifeguard. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and more in nearby El Rompdio, which is a small fishing village. Within the area there are infact two award winning restaurants, one of which is frequented by King Juan Carlos of Spain himself! If you prefer to eat in, the kitchen is extremely well equipped with the local supermarkets and shops providing an excellent choice of goods. An hour’s drive from both Seville and Faro means that the townhouse can be reached easily. There are many budget airlines providing flights to both of these airports. This is the real Spain and one which must be seen to be believed.

Changeover day
Unless otherwise advised by the owner, in peak season the townhouse will need to be vacated by 10am and check in is 4pm. We are very flexible regarding changeover days and will always be as accomodating as possible.

Kitchen: Cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster etc. There is a full set of pots and pans and many extras for those that like to cook. Plenty of serving dishes and crockery.
Living Rooms: Living room/dining room includes a TV, DVD player, stereo including iPod docking station. There are many books and DVDs and some board games. The dining table comfortably seats 8.
Other: The ground floor terrace is enclosed and is equipped with table and chairs for those wishing to eat alfresco.

Notes on accommodation
The air-conditioning also provides heat in the cooler months. The cot is a travel cot and a high chair can be provided on request.

Accessibility
The townhouse, because of the layout, is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Outside
The patio area is enclosed and has a small pebbled area as well as an area which has a table and chairs. This area is perfect for a leisurely lunch or evening meal.This area is covered by a shade and is the perfect escape from the summer heat. The back gate is off of this patio, and this area is reached through patio doors. Both terraces are ideal for sun bathing all day, if you are not going to the beach or the pool! Absolute sun traps and very private and both terraces have sun beds as well as tables and chairs. Views towards the sea from both terraces, and stunning views of the sun setting to the west. The terraces are also perfect for a glass of wine or gin and tonic, once the sun has gone down. The swimming pool is communal and is manned from 9am-3pm and 5pm-10pm. Access is not allowed outwith these times, therefore giving parents peace of mind at all times. Baby pool is adjacent to main pool and perfect for under 8's. Pool area also has plenty of space for sun bathing!

Coast/Beach
The beach is literally a five minute walk and can be seen from both balconies. Should you wish to drive, the beach is a minute away and there is a large car park at the beach. There is a fabulous boardwalk along the beach from which stunning views of the coast can be seen. The beach stretches for miles from Punta Umbria to El Rompido, and is stunning and very peaceful. The bar on the beach serves excellent seafood and many local specialities as well as ice-cream etc.

Golf
This development is called Hoyo 14 and is adjacent to the 14th Hole of the Nuevo Portil golf course. The club house is a five minute walk away or one minute in the car. It offers a pleasant walk that isn't too tiring and is a good test of golf for players of all levels. The rates are very competitive. In under a ten minute drive is the El Rompido Golf Resort home to the Telegraph El Rompido competition. Again, the rates are extremely competitive (19Euros). This course varies from tree lined fairways with small, fast greens, to open views of the coastline with really tricky shots over water to the greens. The area boasts several courses and all at a fraction of the price of the closeby Algarve in Portugal.

Travel
Car hire is recommended, however, airport pick up can be arranged and car hire can be arranged locally. Please contact Dawn Hudson for details on. There are many flights to both Faro and Seville. Faro is a 60 mins drive and Seville is 75 mins drive. The drive from both airports is very straight forward. There are supermarkets locally and a large Carrefour in Cartaya, which is en-route from Faro airport. There are also many local markets which are worth a visit, especially Huelva.

Distances
El Rompido is a 5 minutes drive away, and Cartaya 15 minutes. Huelva is a 20 minute drive. Punta Umbria on the coast is a ten minute drive. For those interested in El Rocio the location of the famous annual pilgramage, a 40 minute drive on the periphery of the Donana National Park is well worth taking. Seville is just over an hours drive and can also be reached by train from Huelva. There are now also excellent train links between Madrid and Seville for those wishing to explore further afield.

Further details
There are several cash machines in El Rompido and El Portil, as well as Carrefour in Cartaya. There are banks on Cartaya, El Portil, Huelva and Punta Umbria. There are many restaurants in El Rompido and several in Nuevo Portil and something for every budget. Your holiday in Nuevo Portil can be as busy or peaceful as you chose. There are many water sports in El Rompido, and boat trips to the Fleche are available all year round. Golf is a big draw to the area and the many courses have already been detailed. These courses all cost a fraction of courses on the Algarve and the great weather means that golf is played all year round. There are many cycle routes and the area, particularly the Donana area is a huge draw for bird watchers. The water park in Cartaya is open throughout the summer months and is a great family day out. The Karting track is beside the water park and is also very popular. There are many fabulous walks in the area and further afield. Seville is so close, it would seem a shame not to visit this beautiful city. Seville can be reached by rail or car in around an hour. The beach is the place to chill out with the cooling, clear waters being the perfect way to cool down in the summer heat, or sip a chilled glass of the local wine whilst nibbling on some prawns in the beach bar. Children of every age will love this family friendly beach. It is very safe and the water very calm, as the beach is protected by the Fleche.

Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of £200 is required to secure your booking. The balance to be paid in full 6 weeks prior to arrival. A refundable deposit (against breakages and security) of £150 is payable on arrival. This will be returned to you after the management company check the house.

Nancy Kinnear, Isle of Bute, Scotland - Been there twice, staying in this very pleasant house in a small complex with a swimming pool. The beach is fantastic and you can walk for miles if you are energetic or sit in the beach restaurant watching the world go by if you prefer. There are several eating places in close proximity. Restaurants vary from a pizza take away to fine dining. The fish is wonderful! We sampled the fine golf course which is at the bottom of the road. You can also eat there. El Rompido is a 5 minute drive away, giving added choice to shops and eating places. It's a super spot which gives a real flavour of Spain!

About the owner
We fell in love with this area the first time we visited, This is Spain as it should be seen and the beach in Nuevo Portil, is second to none. Just beautiful and our kids have had many happy days just digging, swimming and kicking a ball around. This is on the Atlantic coast however the beach is very safe as the fleche makes the water very calm. We love eating out and the choice is great, from a cheap pizza to the best seafood you have ever tasted! Wine is really cheap (and lovely) and because you are away from the British tourist trail, you will find that you will get much better value for money. We don't like arcades and neon lights and this is the attraction of this beautiful part of Spain. We liked it so much, we bought this lovely townhouse, which is our special bolt hole!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We instantly fell in love with this area so much so that we bought here! This certainly ticked all of the boxes regarding our holiday requirements and more. If you, like us, lead a stressful life at home, come to Casa de la Luz and leave the stress behind. At night there is barely a sound and the beach is simply stunning. We love the Spanish way of life, and especially the wine and the food! There are some truly special restaurants in the area. We did not want to be too far from the airport and the hour long trip suits us fine. The drive is straightforward as well, which is another plus for us. On arriving, the first thing we do is walk down to the beach and soak up the view and beautiful pine aroma and we know in a second we have arrived in our special home from home.

Unique benefits of the property
Our property is fully air-conditioned unlike some others in the development. The house is south facing with lovely winter sun and views to the sea. This also means that we have sun all day long, and this is a great bonus for us. There is an inflatable bed for larger families and a travel cot. There are many books and DVDs and some board games for the quieter nights in. The property is very handy for all locations and particularly close to the golf course and beach. !
