Delightful rustic cottage with private pool set within mature, lush tropical gardens. It has it's own entrance with path leading down to the Hozgarganta river. The cottage is charmingly furnished and enhanced with lovely paintings and dried flower arrangements. It consists of a sitting room with two sofa beds and a wood burning stove. Both the lounge and bedroom open out into the garden. A fully equipped kitchen/dining room with views also overlooking the garden. The master bedroom, a spacious double bedroom, has an en-suite bathroom beautifully decorated with antique hand-painted tiles and has a large window above the bath giving a view over the cottage pool. This bedroom has double sliding glass doors overlooking and leading directly into the garden. Another shower room leads of the lounge. The garden is filled with unusual plants as well as banana and other wonderful trees, all of which are illuminated at night, providing a very romantic setting for dining alfresco.

Bedrooms: The master bedroom, a spacious double bedroom with sliding doors over looking the lush garden with plenty of cupboard space. There are 2 sofa beds in the living room.
Bathrooms: The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom which has a large window above the bath giving a view over the cottage pool. Authentic Spanish hand painted tiles brightens this delightful bathroom. The living room has another bathroom with walk in shower.
Kitchen: A fully equipped kitchen/dining room with views also overlooking the garden. 4 ring stove, with oven/grill, fridge with freezing compartment, microwave, washing machine. The inside dining area overlooks the garden.
Living Rooms: The lounge is a bright and cheerfully furnished room with lovely paintings, 2 sofa beds and 2 comfortable arm chairs a wood burning stove.and several side tables. it opens up directly into the lovely garden It has satilite TV. DVD and CD player.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Linen, towels and pool towels are provided. The cottage is cleaned and linen changed once a week included in the price. Extra cleaning and laundry is available on request.

Outside
There are 2 gardens one in front of the cottage with a lawn and 2 patios with several charming seating/dining areas, which are illuminated at night. Very romantic for dining alfresco. The garden is filled with unusual plants as well as banana and other wonderful and unusual trees and overlooks the national park and Hozgargante river. The pool is set in another beautiful, mature garden, with sunbeds amongst the tropical plants. This area is also lit at night. The cottage leads directly to the river and lovely walks into nature.

Coast/Beach
Jimena de la Frontera is 30 minute drive to the Mediterranean beaches, and an hour away from the beautiful beaches of the Atlantic coast, such as Tarifa, Bolonia, etc.

Golf
Sotogrande, with its world class golf courses and marina is only 30 minutes away.

Travel
The closest airport is Gibraltar, a 40 minute drive. Next is Jerez de la Frontera, an hour away, and Malaga airport, an hour and a half away. The use, or rental of, a car is highly recommended.

Distances
The beautiful village of Castella de la Frontera is a 20 minute drive away, whilst the famous Ronda is just over an hour´s drive away. On the coast, the city of Marbella is almost an hour away.

About the owner
My name is Vilja Fagel. I am of Dutch decent but spent my early years first in New Zealand and then Australia. I have worked in designing and building health clinics all over the world and then finally and gratefully settled in this magical place called Jimena de la Frontera, Andalucia. I have rented my villa La Fuente Vieja to holiday makers for 6 months of the year for the last 10 years. Some wonderful people have enjoyed staying in this unique house and I have enjoyed meeting many of them when they first arrived. I am an avid gardener and have brought plants and trees back from all over the globe. In this semi-tropical climate, these have flourished and bring a lot of joy to all. A fine art collection adds atmosphere and grace to this enchanting Hacienda style villa right on the river.
