Approximately 6km from the village of Murtas, the apartment was converted from the stables and Bodega of a traditional Alpujarran farmhouse. Situated on a working farm of almonds, figs and vines and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The apartment has 2 bedrooms, an open plan lounge and kitchen and is decorated in traditional fashion with wooden beams and white walls and Moorish tiles.

Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday although other days will be considered.

Notes on accommodation
There is no mains electricity to the property. Lighting is provided by solar energy. Hot water, fridge and cooker are run from bottled gas.
While the accommodation is all on one level, the surrounding land is very steep.
The owners live on and work the farm and are available for any queries you may have about the area.
Outside
The apartment has a private terrace with views of the surrounding mountains down to the Mediterranean Sea. There is also a private garden area with barbecue and dining furniture.
The solar heated swimming pool is approx 7.5m x 3.5m and is maintained useing a salt electrolysis system which is both ecological and a pleasure to swim in. The pool is available from April through October.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches are at La Rabita, a 40 min drive from the property. This is a small, very Spanish resort with beach bars and restaurants. There are other similar villages along the coastal road.
Travel
The nearest airport is Almeria, approx. 1.5 hours drive. However there are more flights into Malaga which is a 2.5 hour drive.
Car hire is essential.
Distances
The nearest village is Murtas, approx 6km from the apartment. The Sierra Nevada national park and the beautiful villages of the high alpujarras are a 40 min drive.
Granada with the spectacular Alhambra palace is about 1.5 hours drive.
Further details
There is very limited shopping in the local village so if self catering shopping from one of the supermarkets on the way is recommended. There are bars in Murtas and restaurants within a 10 minute drive. Also a number of bodegas where the local wine can be tried and purchased.
The area surrounding the farm is very peaceful and ideal for walking and birdwatching.

A 25% deposit is required at time of booking, with the balance payable 4 weeks prior to arrival.
