Our beautiful secure villa is situated on the 11th fairway of the Nuevo Portil Golf Course near to el Rompido on the Costa de la Luz. With its cool marble flooring throughout is luxuriously furnished, with everything provided to ensure a stress free holiday. Privacy and security are ensured with lockable gates and fences. Outdoor living is encouraged as there is a large courtyard, with gazebo for shade and a built-in BBQ. The large mature garden contains a swimming pool with a safety cover. Available throughout the year and is popular with golfers in the out of season months. Air-conditioning and heating are provided in all of the bedrooms and living room - please note the gorgeous fire-place in the living room, for those cooler winter evenings. Within easy driving distance of both Faro and Seville airports. A gorgeous, safe, sandy beach is within easy walking distance.

Changeover day
During the high season, June - September, changeover day must be on a Saturday and the arrival time is 4 pm and departure time is 10am. Suitcases may be dropped off earlier on the arrival day if this is arranged with our representative beforehand.

All towels, including beach towels are included. The property is cleaned weekly and towels and linen changed at the same time. Private arrangements can be made with our representative on the spot for any further cleaning. |

Notes on accommodation
Cots and high chairs are available at a small charge directly from our representative. Please note that we sleep only 8 persons but might take in one extra baby/small child in a cot. Please ask. The villa is suitable for children - secure in that they cannot get out unless you want them to! It is also gated and so safe from anyone getting in! Also, we have a cover for the pool.
Accessibility
The downstairs of the villa is suitable for people with wheelchairs. There would only be one step up into the house and a ramp could be provided. There is a grab rail inside the walk in shower and also one on the wall outside the shower but the access to the shower itself could be a problem with someone who is totally wheelchair bound as the chair cannot be taken into the shower and one or two steps, with the aid of the rails, would have to be taken.
Outside
As you will see in the photos, this villa lends itself to out-door living. The large courtyard is fantastic and has its built in BBQ as well as a gazebo for cover and shade. The garden is large, mature and well tended. There is plenty of space for the loungers either in the courtyard area or in the garden itself and the pool is gorgeous. There is a cover for the pool, which can easily be pulled over for safety of children or pets.
Coast/Beach
There is a lovely, long, safe beach within 10 minutes walk of the villa or 5 minutes in the car - with plenty of safe parking nearby. The local beach is situated on an estuary, which makes it calm and safe for young families. Surfing beaches are a little further along the coast, where the Atlantic Ocean provides plenty of fun for surfers! There are plenty of cafes and beach bars in the vicinity and several beach activities, such as wind surfing, are provided in the main summer months.
Golf
The villa is situated on the Nuevo Portil Golf Course, on fairway 11. This is very popular during the whole year and attracts people from all over the continent as well as the UK. There is also a golf course at el Rompido and several others within walking distance.
Travel
Both Faro and Seville airports are within about 1 hour 15 minutes or so to the villa. We normally travel by ferry from Plymouth to Santander and travel down through Spain to the villa, taking a couple of days to do this. This is mainly so that we can take our dog on holiday with us! A car is essential if you are to make the most of the area.
Distances
El Portil, the nearest village is about 5 minutes in the car - near to the beach. El Rompido, which is a marina and a lovely fishing village is about 15 minutes away in the car. You might also wish to take day trips to Seville or go the other way, into Portugal for the day. The motorways are good and easy to negotiate.
Further details
El Portil has a small supermarket, cash machines, local shops, restaurants and tapas bars as also does el Rompido, which has plenty of restaurants! Most people do their main shopping at Carrefour at Cartaya, near to el Rompido and then pick up bread, etc locally. Cartaya has an aqua park and a go-karting track. Cycling and horse-riding are also popular in the area. Golf is obviously popular!
Booking notes
I require a deposit of 25% of the holiday cost at time of booking and then I send out a Contract to be returned to me with all relevant details, such as numbers, address, etc. I then require the balance of the payment 6 weeks before the holiday together with a refundable (at end of holiday) deposit to cover the cost of breakages etc. I have only had to retain money on one occasion in the 5 years that I have been renting!

We rented the villa for 4 weeks. Everything was excellent, from the friendly, first contact until the settling of the deposit. The villa is in excellent condition and very comfortable. Air-conditioning, heating and bathrooms are good. The environment is fantastic. Villa is right on a fairway and 3 other golf courses nearby. Beaches are gorgeous and the marshes nearby have an enormous bird population. We will return!

We had an amazing holiday. The villa is fantastic! Very spacious, excellently presented with everything you need for a relaxing week away. Lovely pool, BBQ, close to beach. Tapas bars for lazy lunches - we thoughly recommend it!

Beautiful villa. Pictures are good but not as good as the real thing. Lovely spacious garden with secure gates to keep the children safe. Beautiful beach and lots of tapas bars and small shops nearby! Lovely!

About the owner
We are a retired English couple who live in Exeter. We have two grown up children and a dog.
We spend about 2 months per year at the villa at the moment but cannot spend any more time at the moment as we both have elderly mothers nearby and so can't get away for long periods at a time.
One day we hope to spend at least our winters at the villa and learn to play golf!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We love this area because it is much more "Spanish" that other places on the "Costas". It is very much a place for conservancy and nature and the authorities have banned the building of high rise hotels and apartments. There is one large hotel on the golf course, but apart from that, all of the properties are two storey and very much in keeping with the area.
The villa is very easy to reach either from Faro or Seville airport, but we usually travel by car from Plymouth to Santander and spend 2 days travelling through Spain in order to reach the villa. We have some preferred hotels en route, which are dog friendly as we like to take our springer spaniel with us.
Unique benefits of the property
The villa is close to the beach - only a 10 minute walk but our villa has everything you need for a wonderful holiday and so we find that we don't go out and about as much as we should do! Apart from the twice daily dog walk on the beach we tend to remain at the villa and swim and BBQ and generally enjoy the amenities we have.
