These very well equipped and comfortable apartments are ideally situated for an easy going, relaxing holiday. They are just a 10 minute walk through the woods (or down the road) to Montgo beach and the nearest supermarket, bars and restaurants or are only a 2 minute drive to L'Escala for a larger choice of shops, banks and other entertainment. The 1 bedroom apartment has its own private garden, as well as the use of the other gardens, both share a beautiful salt water pool and laundry room. There is also a table tennis table, table football, badminton, croquet, beach toys and umbrellas available etc. The upper apartment and studio have WiFi connectivity.

Changeover day
I try to be flexible, but not a saturday if at all possible. Midweek changeovers allows you to take advantage of cheaper flights.

The large lounge/dining area has an open plan kitchen.
Kitchen with hob, full oven and fridge.
Lounge with TV, English sky channels, video/ DVD player, books, local information booklets etc.
This leads to the large bedroom with 2 single beds (could have a 3rd if required).
Seperate shower room.
From the lounge area there are patio doors opening onto the private terrace (with terrace furniture) and walled herb and fruit garden, where there is a BBQ.
This has a gate accessing the main garden and swimming pool and the undercover terrace for table tennis, table football etc.

This large studio apartment has a kitchen area with hob, microwave, all crockery and cutlery, and an eating area.
There is a double bed, and could also have an additional small single bed if required.
There is a TV for DVDs only. There is also WiFi connectivity.
Off the entrance hall there is a shower room, and wardrobe.
The patio doors open onto the covered terrace, where there is table tennis and table football, and main garden and swimming pool.
There is a large built in BBQ, and garden furniture.

 

Notes on accommodation
The garden apartment and studio apartment are located on the ground floor, of house, with owners living above. There is separate access to each apartment, via garden. Each apartment can make use of the rear garden and swimming pool.
All prices include bed linen, bathroom and beach towels and a supply of basic food essentials on arrival.

Accessibility
There are no steps accessing the garden apartment and studio apartment, and both may both be suitable for wheelchairs, but please ring to check this before booking.

Outside
The garden apartment has its own private garden with its own BBQ and garden furniture. The main garden is quite large and landscaped and has a swimming pool and terrace. There is a table and chairs for the studio and ample sunbeds. There is a built in BBQ for the sole use of the studio apartment.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is the beautiful Montgo bay, but the gently sloping, sandy beach of Riells is only a 10 minute walk in the other direction. The gorgeous beaches of Empuries are a 7 minute drive away. All beaches are supervised by lifeguards in high season. The apartments are very near to the woods, a natural protected area, and are great for more strenuous walking/hiking, to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the rocky and sandy Costa Brava.

Travel
The nearest airport is Girona, served by with Ryanair is only 45 minutes away. Barcelona and Perpignan airports are both 1.5 hours, in opposite directions. Taxis can be arranged to and from the airports, please ask for information. The AP7 motorway, junction 5 is 20 minutes away. Car hire is recommended.

Distances
There are many places of interest in the area worth exploring: the Greek and Roman ruins at Empuries, picturesque Sant Marti, The Dali museum and Castell Ferran in Figueres, the old part and Cathedral in Girona, Gala dali's castle in Pubol, the ceramic museum and town of La Bisbal is interesting. The wetland natural area of Aigumolls is good for birdwatchers. Details of local activities and places of interest are in the apartments.

Further details
There are some good restaurants and a good supermarket at Montgo beach, within walking distance. Riells, the newer part of L'Escala also has some good restaurants, banks, supermarkets and the Sunday morning market are all within walking distance. The road train, which operates during the summer runs between Sant Marti and Montgo is a useful service, but if you wish to explore outside L'Escala, a car is recommended.

Booking notes
A 30% non refundable deposit secures the booking, the remainder is payable in euros, cash on arrival. A 200 euro/£200 refundable deposit is also required, which is fully refundable if no serious damage has occurred, and the apartments are left in a clean condition!

About the owner
I lived in L'Escala with my children, who were all at local schools for 6 years. We had been holidaying in L'Escala for 36 years and loved it so much we moved our family there, but sadly, due to certain circumstances I have had to move, temporarily back to England. I hope to be back in a couple of years.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We moved permanently to L'Escala 6 years ago because we enjoyed being here for our holidays. I have been coming to L'Escala for 37 years. I love the area, and where the apartments are because it is so near to the lovely beach at Montgo, and the local supermarket and is yet only a walk away from Riells and a short drive to the old town. I really enjoy being outside and love the feeling of openness you get here, the wonderful sunrises over Montgo and the sunsets over the mountains, walks along the many gorgeous beaches, and in the woods. L'Escala is my ideal holiday place, it has something for everyone, and is so full of character, and yet small and safe for children to play out. The beaches are really sandy and gently sloping, ideal for children.

Unique benefits of the property
The location of the apartments is ideal if you want a relaxing, easy going holiday, just to chill out and enjoy the beach, maybe a mooch around the shops and generally recharge your batteries and relax. The beach is close, as are shops and restaurants, and lots of other interesting things and places to see if you wish to explore. The apartments are ideal for a family with Grandparents/ or friends to come together, and yet be separate.
