Notes on accommodation
The apartment has excellent air conditioning/heating in the cooler months. There is a sauna and shower room with a small gym for the energetic. We now have a new addition of a BBQ on the balcony.

Accessibility
People with wheelchairs have access from the underground car park with lift access to apartment.

Outside
The apartment block is surrounded by gardens/ lawns. The pool is shared (about 20m long). There are pool loungers supplied. There is underground parking available accessed by remote key. The parking is next to our apartment,access by lift, one floor, if needed.

Coast/Beach
La Cala - Mijas Costa is a small village on the coast which has all the amenities one requires for a relaxing holiday. It is 5 min to the beach, it is ideal for young children.

Golf
We overlook Cala Nova Golf which is a relative new course. Which has panoramic views.There are 4 other courses within sight of the apartment and many more within a 10 mile radius. Cala Nova is a member of the Aymerich Golf Club Platinum Programme which allows members to play other courses throughout Spain and France.

Skiing
Skiing is possible in Granada which is a 2 hours drive.

Travel
The apartment is 30 mins from Malaga airport. We usually hire a car for convenience and is needed getting to La Cala and back to the apartment.

Distances
La Cala 5km. Fuengirola 9km. Marbella 20km. Mijas 14km. Gibraltar is 1 hour drive. Real duty free!

Further details
La Cala has many restaurants, 2 supermarkets and banks.
There is a shop that seems to sell everything, which can be very handy. There is a market twice a week Wednesday / Saturday.

To book just a telephone call will do. A deposit of £100 will confirm the booking. The final payment should be made 6 weeks before arrival.

Why I come to Spain

About the owner
I am a retired teacher living in England, looking to let out the apartment after friends and family. We travel to Spain as much as possible to take advantage of the fantastic weather and visit the many attractions in and around Andalucia. Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Marbella, Peurto Banus and the famous white village Mijas. My next trip is to Tangier in Morocco. This years target (2011 )is to experience skiing in Granada. This year (2012) Cadiz and Jerez are among my places to visit.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought this property because it has fantastic views of Cala Nova golf, La Cala village, the sea and the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is close to the quiet village of La Cala , Mijas - Costa. It has three bedrooms which allows us to invite my family and grandchildren. It is only a short flight from England and 30 minutes from Malaga airport, so long weekends are possible. It is central for most sightseeing attractions along Costa del Sol.

Unique benefits of the property
We like the quiet secluded elevated position, with views over Cala Nova Golf Course and the valley below. But also the convenience of being near La Cala with all its amenities and beach. There are plenty of places to visit Marbella, Peurto Banus, Fuengirola and Mijas and only 30 minutes from Malaga airport. There are many fantastic golf courses within easy reach.
