This old Catalan house has been fully restored with a large terrace off the first floor living room with unobstructed views of the coast of Roses. The backdrop is a mountainside covered in wildflowers. The surrounding land has an 8m x 4m pool, fruit trees, a hammock and lots of space to explore. There are 2 double bedrooms and 2 triple bedrooms (one has a bunk bed plus a single bed, the other a double plus a single). The master bedroom has an en-suite mosaic tiled bathroom. There is a covered porch area at the ground floor level outside the kitchen for alfresco dining. This authentic old Catalan house is at the top of a lovely little village with all the local shops you need, the fabulous local pool and some good restaurants too. The beautiful costal town of Cadaques is only 45 mins away. The nearest beach (and there are beatiful beaches all along this coast) is 5km away. And the Pyrenees are less than an hour's drive. An ideal place to escape to in the heart of Daliland.

Changeover day
Changeover day Saturday during peak season, flexible throughout the rest of the year.

Notes on accommodation
Air conditioning units are located in the upstairs two bedrooms and the downstairs double bedroom. The downstairs triple bedroom is in the coolest part of the house and does not need air conditioning. The upstairs master bedroom is accessed through the bathroom.
The stairs going upstairs are old stone and are exposed on one side.
Accessibility
The house is not suitable for wheelchair access as it is on two levels and has steps between rooms on each level too.
Outside
Beautiful rural setting of the garden on the hillside means that you can do walks directly from the garden either up the hillside to the chapel of St Onofre (approx 45 mins up) or shorter walks down to the village or just up and around the hillside. Great for kids to go exploring and great for hikes too. Longer walks to the Monastery of St Pere de Rodes and to Llanca, Port de La Selva and Cadaques are all possible from the back garden too.
Coast/Beach
The coastal town of Roses is about 4 km away and has many restaurants and shops and a long sandy beach. For a less developed beach try San Marti D'Empuries (half hour) or San Pere Pescador(half hour) with its fine sandy beach and not a restaurant or shop in sight!
Special interest holidays
The fabulous Michelin three star restaurant El Bulli is very nearby. Voted best chef by all the top chefs in the world, Ferran Adria's restaurant is reason alone to come to this part of the world However, if getting a booking is the problem consider booking into the fabulous Miramar in Llanca (20 mins drive) to sample food inspired by Adria and cooked by one of his trained chefs. Phenomenal Menu de Degustation is 70 euros.
Travel
Palau Saverdera is located about 20 minutes drive from Figueres and the junction of the A7 which takes you down to Girona(15 mins) and Barcelona (1hr 30mins) or up to Perpignan (1 hr. Airports are located in all three towns with flights on Ryan Air, Buzz and EasyJet.
Distances
Palau Saverdera is a small village between the seaside town of Roses and Figueres, home of the Dali museum. The picturesque and remote town of Cadaques, home of Dali, is a 45 minute drive away. There are vineyards for wine tasting nearby, and many wonderful catalan restaurants in Palau village and the villages surrounding it.
